  1. Three strikes/requests.

If there is someone on the team being an idiot, or someone not using a buff they should be (ie, a slack support person with an anti mez not using it while fighting malta) I ask them nicely to do/stop doing whatever it is.
If they keep up with the stupidity, I will TELL them what to do.
If they still are not listening I will yell at them.
If, after 3 tries they are still being pants on head, they get the boot.

Also, sorry, but the above rule about 'listening to the leader' is only valid IF the leader is not an idiot.

I joined a CoP trial recently, where the leader pretty much gave no instructions, and just yelled at teams to keep attack the Obelisks, in spite of people people lost and not ready. This had the result of the Obs constantly dying out of synch, over and over (think we wasted at least 20 mins, getting nowhere).
So next time the leader said 'attack teh Obs!' I pointed out that we should stop, let them reset, and regroup.
    For which I was kicked.
Even better, then then leader accused me of ruining the whole trial, and making them fail, even when I was no longer there..Apparently he had run about 50 CoPs. I can only feel sorry for the people who had to deal with his lack of tactics.
  2. You log in a 'fresh' character. He/She spawns in the default Idle stance, that is, hands by sides, feet apart.

You hit an active type power, say a toggle, even just an attack. You move into the combat stance, one leg forward, hands curved a bit.

After some period of time without using another power, the stance is reset back into the Idle version.

Not sure if this is a bug, but recently (since the awesome patch that broke all KB I think) I have been noticing that some of my toons are resetting from combat to idle, almost instantly..WHEN in the middle of a fight. In fact, it happens so fast, that if I do not have the next power Q'd up, I will go back to normal.

It is really obvious on my DM stalker (whose rech isnt quite high enough to have a smooth attack chain), my Fort (who DOES have a perfect attack chain) and my plant time troller (who always has some power to use, regardless).

Is it really a problem? No. But it is very annoying to see the stance being constantly shifted like someone coming down for smack and twitching. Plus, it makes you look like your toon is slacking and not helping much.
  3. Just curious..doing it on +4 on made the normal mobs 54 right? SO Crimson, who is normally a level 50 hero, was still 50?
Can totally see you guys not able to kill him though. I remember reading that all those buffed enemies settings function like turning an even con minion into a +2 boss (in regard to hp, damage dealt, taken, etc) so I can imagine it would make a Hero very tough. Also, read some post saying a normal even con AV is basically working at +5 levels to you for the damage and stuff..so buffing that..yeah, ouch. Would have been interesting to see how much States could hit you guys for at the end though. lol

You totally still can. Get together 7 random people to fully simulate a PuG rsf team. Have everyone respec out of every single IO they have, as well as removing incarnate powers. Fill up the toons with SO's, run rsf with buffed enemies to account for the -1 level difference.

I am sure people will be lining up for that.

Sarcasm aside, I agree with you. It was a great feeling of accomplishment when I finished my first rsf, even more so when I 'tanked' it for the time.

    V Day tips

Just to beat the horse a little more..seems very unbalanced in the amount of tips that are side specific. Doing it on villain toons, about half the tips I got had to be ditched, while I only saw one or 2 tips I could not get to, as a hero.
  6. MisterD

    PvP drops

Sooo..you are farming the farmers, who are not actually pvping? If they aren't pvping, you are not pvping either, by killing them. Better hand in any drops you are getting from them.
  7. Not to be rude..but..is this a serious question? Playing an end heavy set like SR (lotsa toggles, +rech meaning your attacking MORE), not slotting ANY end reduction, in anything, and you wonder WHY you are running out of end?

I think the only sets that could get away with that are things like claws, regen and willpower. Anything else..you need end reduction. At least one if those toggles..one in your attacks to. The to hit debuffs in your attacks, while not worthless, are pretty close to, when you consider the actual % gained, and that it will be resisted too.

If you are just using SO's, you could do far far worse than the body epics and physical perfection also.

Oh and slotting combat jumping for 3 def is a waste..likewise the Passives can easily just have two slots.

And you NEED end red in darkest night too..or you will flatline in two seconds. Also, pretty much the main reason for taking Tough on an SR is a spot to put the steadfast +def IO. If you are not using that, you are better off to go with leadership/manu or stealth.

    V Day tips

Ok, fine, it isnt broken, its just stupid. Change stupid into something LESS stupid.
  9. MisterD

    V Day tips

Of course it is easier to let it stand! Than to, you know..FIX it. Sorta like how the base pvp bug was left to stand..not that I am saying they are of comparable levels of Stupid.
  10. MisterD

    V Day tips

Doing more tips, as a Rogue this time. Woot, I can do the hero side ones now!

Oh wait..I got a tip from Percy, to the Can of Trash (which is NOT Trashcan, in the crucible, stupid). Guess where it wants me to go? Fort Trident...a HERO only area. SO even as a rogue, you get bent. Awesome work.
  11. MisterD

    V Day tips

It is not..'bad' as such. Just annoying. Those badges already require at least 14 different tips, and then this happens? Basically killed my desire to bother with the event on other alts.

And another thing..almost 50% of the tips I was getting on a Villain toon, HAD to be dismissed, because they were pointing hero side. Also had the exact same tip drop 3 times in a row..and had to ditch it each time. What fun.
  12. Pretty sure you have to do the scratch/ganymede ones again, then go talk to DJ zero, and h attunes you. Then the new tips drop normally ( also can get them with 3 normal tips in your list).
  13. MisterD

    V Day tips

Ok, this is just stupid. Started doing some of the V day tips. As a villain toon, that has NEVER been anything other than a villain.

And I get a tip from Crimson, with the option to send it to Indigo, or Jenny Adair. Whichever option I pick, it sends me to PARAGON. You know, the side I cant get to? What a load of crap. Considering other tips send you to a warehouse, with the Contact in it, why can't there at least be ONE option you can get to, regardless of alignment?

Also..solo credit only? In an event that is meant to promote relationships and teaming? Yeah, makes sense.
  14. It will help the -def and stuns. Nothing else. Power boost doesnt touch kb or -res, or the damage part of Beam's secondary effects. They are unique to BR.
  15. I have taken about 10 toons through Praetoria at this point. I agree with you..the zones there look great, feel great, have some excellent arcs and missions and I can see how much work it would have been to create.

But, like you say..it IS almost dead. I see a couple of common reasons for this.

Firstly, it lags. Perhaps not if you have a super computer, but speaking as someone with an average PC who can run the rest of the game almost constantly fun, it lags. Not a lot, but it does, and on almost every single team I have joined there, at least one person will be dying of lag. Dont get me wrong, I love how prea looks, and pushes the limits of the game engine. Sadly, I can't really think of a 'fix' for this.

Secondly, mob difficulty. I hear this mentioned in almost every discussion of the zone. End drain, - regen, exotic damage types, huge ambushes, destroyers with like 32489430912 points of mez prot AND rage. Perhaps the reason is that the mobs there A(apart from..ghouls, syn, destroyers?) are versions of mobs that scale all the way to 50, while the 1-20 red and blue zones have there own mobs. The mobs there are generally harder then normal zones, and it 'seems' to take longer to hit 20 there than outside. Opinion of course.

Thirdly, the devs vastly underestimate how greedy and level hungry people are. When the zone first came along, it was a good way to make a 'hero' (or vill) AT, get to 20, then swap sides right away. Now of course, we can just make any AT, anywhere. With the added bonus of it being in a non laggy, non OP baddie populated area, usually with an AE building handy.

Oh and also. The utterly idiotic way that going from Prea to redside screws you out of 3 badges needed for an accolade..with NO way to flashback them. (also for the blue safeguards I guess, but less important)

Let people have someway to get those badges, as well as normal flashbacks of the arcs there, including the Morality Missions. I would also personally love if we got to keep the Prea alignment icon (the gold ppd one, blue resist one) after we left. Perhaps make it a half and half with your hero/vill/vigi/rogue icon.

As for the mobs there..maybe tone them done a little? Lower the size of ambushes? Speaking from experience, trying to kill nobel savage and then maelstrom on a solo troller was not fun in any way.

On another note..LET us earn teh Moral High Ground badge from normal, primal earth alignment missions...since they are, you know..MORALity missions.
  16. News Flash! This just in! Incarnate content, specifically, new incarnate content, is HARD!

Take a moment. Let it sink in.

    That's right, it is Hard.

It is no 'walk in the park that's also a crazy person storage unit' like BAF has become.

Sorry for the sarcasm. I understand that some, perhaps many people do not find the trials fun. The simple answer is...do not do them. Tricky concept. But, it seems you want the badges too? Well, you KNOW how to get the badges right? You actually have to participate and complete whatever the badge task is.

You know..I am getting a little tied of leveling 1-50 in this game. Let's just have an option to BUY a token for 50 levels from the market! Surely we can't have people doing things they don't enjoy, or are forced too.

Seriously though, sounds like your league was full of people who did not understand what that part of the trial actually needed. Which is not their fault, nor is it the Devs fault. I really doubt there were too many completed MoM's in the first few days, assuming mostly pug teams.

I failed it 5 times on the first day, completed it on the second. I rarely see them fail now.
  17. I have a necro poison MM. It was the first toon I made on Virtue, and I basically solo'd it to 50. I had heard poison was a really good set, especially vs hard targets.

I found..it was not that great. The biggest failing I think is only having a ST heal, on an AT that is going to have a lot of pets about. This combines with the fact necros only get Life Drain for defence..a small st heal based on a to hit check..AND the retarded AI. This usually means they try to heal when they have full hp, and never use it near death.

Poison also suffers from a lack of aoe debuffs. This WAS semi fixed in a recent patch, and I suggest you check out the specific changes to be sure. However, the general feeling seems to be the poison trap still bites, and Noxious Gas, the tier 9, suffers hugely from having to be applied to a pet..who will then usually get ganked by an entire spawn.

Pretty sure I never once got to use NG for its full duration, for that reason.

Regarding the debuffs..yeah, they aren't bad. But, they really aren't great. There was a thread recently with some guy comparing the debuffing of various sets vs hard targets, and Poison, which is 'meant' to shine there, fell very short. I think even storm did better. The -to hit doesnt feel high enough to matter in my opinion, especially not with pets at least -1 to whatever you are fighting. I could be wrong, but I think the -acc portion is aoe now, but at an even smaller value.

The zombies are also sooo squishy. They don't have any inherent -resist to fire..but in my experience, as soon as an enemy with fire attacks come near, they explode. Then there is the grave knights who decide it is a great idea to stand back and spam dark blast (oddly enough, this is the same behaviour I saw from a scrapper during a BAF league..I am pretty sure its cause he is brain dead too) instead of using their swords. And the lich..who is meant to be controllery..but I find my Demon Prince (from the demon set obviously) to do way better, with just one hold.

Another thing I didn't like with the recentish MM 'upgrades' is the aoe pet buffing. With my bots MM, this is great..because they DONT die ever damn 5 seconds. But when you have just lost a few zombies, and want to upgrade them...you have to pay the huge end cost, based on buffing ALL the pets.

All this negative stuff aside..it IS fun. And pretty tough once you get the pet uniques in. Even so, I still would not solo it set for more than 2-3 people. And on a team of 8, aoes will wipe your zombies nearly every mob.

Sorry if all this is putting you off. I did enjoy getting the toon to 50. But it was more..a chore than flat out look at me gooo whooo this is awesome fun type stuff. I have two other MMs, a demons dark and bots storm, both of which were more fun and far and away BETTER to level up. And now they can do some crazy stuff.

Try the combo, give it a shot. I would just recommend something else, for the reasons above.
  18. I do love my tea. The said...a few years ago me and some friends were talking about tea vs coffee, and came to the following conclusions.

In a heap of movies, especially Hollywood ones, Coffee, and the act of asking someone up, in, back for coffee, is basically saying..let us go get it on. Best example is that Ewan Macgregor movie I think...where the girl says..

Want to come back to my place for some coffee?
He replies..I don't really drink coffee.
To which, her natural comeback is..It's ok, I havent got any.

So there you go, coffee, means sex. Now, given that coffee and tea are pretty arch nemeisisisisee' to each other, our logical conclusion was..if Coffee is referring to the more normal, hetero 'getting it on'..well, you can draw conclusions about what asking someone over for Tea means.
  19. If the game to you is all about making sense, and fun (lets see how many fully tricked out pvp toons you have btw, since you just play for 'fun') then what is the problem? Less than a week to gain some Accolade powers that really improve a character. Surely it makes SENSE that something like that takes awhile to get?

And if you are going to bring time issues into it, then it goes BOTH ways. Mender Ramiel, at the end of his arc, tells you that you will be taking the long, slow path to incarnate power. Key words, long, slow.

Then WHY can we get all of the current incarnate powers (assuming hardcore playing and a lot of luck) in less than a day?? Less than a day is a long slow time? Does not make much 'sense' to me. Clearly, by your argument, you think we need limits of the amount of incarnate powers we can earn in a given time? (more than we already have obviously)

Oh, that could be why..my TW is the big hunk of concrete..I never noticed it spinning! Still..a stab is not rending something.

Also like the ideas of drawing runes in midair, for blast sets. There is that temp power from croatoa, that does something similar.

Totally agree with this. If you read the description for Ripper, it SOUNDS exactly like how barb swipe looks. And wtf, a minor damage attack with an animation that long? Swap BS with ripper, and give swap an alternating, single hand slash.

Also, Tremor for stone melee is just awful. It is sooo slow for an already slow set, and isnt in line with other pbaoes.

Rend Armour from Titan weaps. It looks dumb. You are not 'rending' anything, you are stabbing them..with something huge. It should have a twisty kinda corkscrew effect at teh end, like you are literally stripping away their armour.

Not an animation change, but I would love to see Wand like animations for the blast sets. Playing in the first ward, all the carnies with wands look awesome, when combined with energy blast. The blasts coming out the wand, obviously. AS well as things like teh senechaals Brazier fire spit. Of course..having wands and staffs on blast sets would add redraw..but it would still be cool
  22. Not to sound snarky but..
Considering you are a big pvp person, and to pvp'rs, pve is lol, and super easy, and not worth your time. So the whole thing with you wanting to be able to get the main 4/5 accos from trials just sounds like ANOTHER way you feel you should not have to engage in pve content. Let me guess..how many times have you missed those super hard (sarcasm) to get mayhem badges lately?
  23. You really want to slot at least one extra KB io on an elec, especially a tanker that is taking aggro. It is way to easy to just be jumping a bit and get KB'd. One IO in Grounded will fix that up to almost everything.
As others have said..a level 37 on ITF..you are going to get pasted. Hardly anyone has a full IO build by then, and especially on a melee with no defence. I would not even consider doing an itf that low.
  24. The detoggling is annoying yes. But given that it is not likely or needed, to be changed, the simple fix is as follows:

    1. Find Walk on your power trays.
    2. Right click and select Remove.
    3. Do not buy the rocket board or magic carpet from the store.
    4. If you did buy them, repeat steps 1 and 2 for those powers.
    5. You wont have an issue with them detoggling powers again.
  25. From your post..the last thing I would think is that you are a hardass, or negative. It is all very logical and makes sense. But..

Your little tangent about the fast food chain? You lost me there. You complained because the guy went..to the toilet? Wow, how dare he. I thought they were all robots. Sarcasm aside..I don't see the point. Or how it relates to you being/not being a hardass.

And as for perks for sets with redraw..sorry, but I dont have suggestions, other than..redraw is dumb. Coming up with nifty ideas for powers is their job, not mine. Besides, most changes would not be very balance, such as increasing damage a bit. That would just be giving more advantage to those combinations with no redraw, while the ones with it, still fall behind, simply due to the combination of powersets (rather than the powerset itself being at fault).
