So..in typical first day patch tradition..
Been logged in 2 hours now, trying to get on a Mag Trial. And that whole time I have been in various leagues that form, then can NOT get the Q to work. No error messages, everyone meeting requirements, no dice.
Any ideas? (Besides forming in DA to be SURE everyone is 53)
And now..another league that cant Q either. How I love new issue day. -
Funny how the idea that 'googling the costume bits' is such a common response. Because that is SO much easier than..you know..letting us actually PREVIEW them in game. Why should anyone be 'forced' to search for pics...when a preview is something we ought to have?
Because I DID google search the bits..and all I could find was a few old threads with screenshots from the front. Bit hard to see any gaps that way.
I also looked at a few people with the bits, in game. Didnt see gaps either. Great arguments.
The celestial rifle is still junk. -
GJ Mr DJ. I see you are one of the 'I cant come up with a smart reply to anything using my brain, so instead I will find a collection of dumb pictures and post them instead,' people.
Maybe if the game would let you preview the bits BEFORE unlocking..oh wait, that would be logical. Letting people SEE what they are spending reward points on before hand. Especially since all the store bought bits can be previewed. -
Ok obviously what is meant to be 'mystical' looks stupid to me. What other mystical mobs do we have? Cot? No magical flying back bits on them.

I just got the 2nd Celes costume pack with my paragon rewards. I was looking forward to trying some of those back pieces.
So I head to a trainer to have a look and find....then are all 'spawning' like 10 in game inches AWAY from the back of my toon. They are just hanging in mid air, and look utterly stupid. As a comparison, the fire/ice back bits snap directly onto the characters back, no gap in sight.
Is this really how they are meant to be? I have seen some nice costumes using the back bits...and no huge gaps.
As an aside..the Celestial Rifle is one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen in this game. Actually..it is. Nothing celestial about it..its a tube of about 5 polygons, with a MS paint texture. -
Could also try Soul Mastery too..for shadow meld. Which would also benefit from a stack of rech.
What about the kinetic combat (which you will be using a lot of, if going for s/l def) chance for knockdown? I tried it out on an Stj and Staff toon..it works quite well. And if you have 3-4 of them..you should get 'some' mitigation out of it.
Another idea Darth K suggested, was using Air Supp to keep bosses flopping around. Proc it up, and you can at least keep on target unable to hit back..and in Burn.

..how does the presence of somebody mean that normal people (those same normal people you were just saying SHOULD be running) will now happily stand in a patch of fire? Unless they are frothing, insane madmen, it is not realistic at all to stand in fire. Assuming you arent a demon (why dont behemoths have huge fire resistance again?). -
Opening a fight? Umm..wouldnt you be opening a fight with..Assassin Strike?? Maybe snipe in pvp..but in pve, theres basically no map where you will need to be sniping. Besides, if you reaaally want to take an enemy out at range, lots of the epics offer a standard ST blast, that will fire about 6 times as fast.

Yes they can, with aoes have a 50% (I think) chance to crit instead. The snipes should crit from hide every time..but they take sooo long. I think moonbeam is like an 8 second animation? Just about every other attack you have will be loads better to crit with.

Um..Willpower? Well maybe not cap psi, but since it has psi resists...and also 'sicker' regen. With the added bonus of not looking like a moving turd? As well as being able to jump..and use travel powers.

Skipping granite...while maybe..maybe you could still build a tough toon..its utterly idiotic. There is nothing a graniteless stoner can do that many many other sets cant, without the penalities in Stone Armour (the entire set I mean).
If you are not going to take it..roll something else. -

As super cool as that shiny funky flash animation is...can we just have, you know, a LIST of things to click on? Like videos, screenshots etc?
No matter where I click on this stupid flash thing, nothing happens. Or a download circle pops up, completes, then..again..NOTHING happens. -
I like secondary mutation. The buffs help a little when playing up a new toon, that may not have many or any sets active. Plus, the double helix icon thingy in the Icon Pack is all pretty.
However..look at the values they have.
There is one or two that give +def, 1-3%. Which, unless you are chasing def bonuses is not going to matter.
There is a +acc and per one..+5% acc. Just..5. Ok, that is something I guess.
There is a + movement speed one, that I CAN NOT even see a difference with, even when used on a fresh lvl 1 toon.
Now..the weird ones.
Quick Reflexes is 30% rech! Thirty! That is a huge boost, especially considering the max rech from Fortunes (which have far and away higher numbers) is 15/20% I think.
Pain Tolerance is mez duration reduction and..a FIFTY % endurance cost decrease. For ALL powers. Wtf? How is this even remotely balanced to the others? 5% end red is a huge, massive buff, basically giving a new toon the benefit of Cardiac (sorta).
Given how low the numbers on most of the powers are..I think the power should be called Tertiary Mutation. And I also wonder if a decimal point in the 'good' two powers was not misplaced (ie 3% rech and 5% end red).
I would be sad if those 2 got nerfed..so how about buffing the others in line with them?
Quick Mystic Fortune suggestion.
It is a nice buff, and gives a non buffy toon something to share. It is nice when a random person gives it to you on a team or trial, but in the chaos of clicking buttons, it is quite easy to miss who actually gave it to you. Even if you do catch the name, then you might have to find their name in league, if they vanish into the crowd.
I would like some sort of highlight, payback type notification for MF, perhaps making the player who gave it flash for a moment, or have a star by their name on the team window. -
The spam can be taken to far. I understand they want everyone to see it, but just spamming is not the best way to do it.
For instance, the Nemesis Invasions (and other events), have there own channel for your tabs, that can just be turned off. Dont care about events? Turn it off..you will never hear about them. Looking through my tabs right now, I see that the color for Event Messages looks a lot like the red Admin text. Is it the same, can you remove this and not see admin?
Regardless of the above, a situation came up the other week that really annoyed me. Zwill and HitStreak came on to Freedom, and announced they were going to warburg to pvp. Now that in itself is great I think, some devs who admit pvp is actually here! The problem was, that HitStreak clearly has a love affair with stupid binds, and proceeded to spam a 'Kill Target' bind over and over..on the admin. Instead of, you know, just saying it in WB BROADCAST. Since it only mattered to the people actually pvping them. -
Yes I know it IS WAI. That still doesnt mean it 'should' be working that way. DO you honestly trust the devs to get the workings of everything correct? Given how they came up with the ppm system, nerfed it on one type, left the rest..and NOW are changing it all? I sure dont.
Anyway, I think people are really missing the part where Syn said 'All ppm rates will be increased, to balance how much they proc' with only 'small performance hits'. Lets wait and see what happens. -
I know the stalker ato proc keeps getting brought up, but really..anyone who can look at how it works, and NOT say it is simply too awesome has no idea about the game.
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE how it works. But come on..every time? Even working 50% of the time would be flat out awesome, to not having the proc. -
I agree with Uber here..anything I see them come out with that seems 'too good' I regard as subject to change. That said..the awful awful handling of the Performance Shifter change, specifically saying THAT would be changed, and NOT the other SBE procs..just rubbish.
I like the idea that the store ones would be a little better, even if it seems pay to win. But hey..they paid..they should get something.
I also agree with a 90% cap for procs. Come on guys, stop being greedy..its all in the name PROC. Having it go off every single time doesnt make it a proc. -
Oh..good point! How does this work on numi/miacles in Health? Do they suddenly change? Or because they last 120 secs, will we see next to know difference, since they will be checking every 10 secs anyway?

I really like these changes. I was on the point of posting a thread about how broken some of the SB ones are in pvp zones.
Glad to see you posting this..but..PLEASE please consider doing more than just tucking it away in the forums? Seriously..not everyone reads this, or even the patch notes. If there is not something like a pop up when you log in, with a quick run down of how all procs are being tweaked.. -
There has been a couple of negative Staff threads now, and I figured it was my time to get on board. My staff scrapper is 34 now, so I have taken and slotted (mostly) the tier 9, Sky Splitter.
First, the good news.
The animation. Seriously, it is awesome. Like all of the set is (perhaps not counting the Star Wars Kid aoe) and it flows really well.
Now, the bad.
The animation, again. I cant quite put my finger on it but it seems..slow? I think it is the hang time you get during the jump, but it just feels to slow. The activation time is 2.83 secs, compared to 2.17 for Crushing Uppercut, and of course that is over half a second more, but CI just seems so much quicker to me, especially because the damage comes early in the animation.
The damage display. Seriously, Devs, HOW long was this set on test again, and you cant get it right? Just slack. To illustrate my point, look at the damage for EoS and SS
EoS: 6 ticks 25 damage (for a real life total of 150)
Average damage: 240! (shown in game, calculated by a dev who cant add)
SS: 2 ticks of 168 damage (rl total 336)
Average damage: 540! (again, in game, same person who failed simple addition)
Obviously something is really wrong here. Because both of these attacks can do extra damage at Perfection level 3, the detailed info shows this extra damage in the info...and ADDS it all onto the totals! Genius work guys. There is three sources of extra damage..so both powers have 3 extra lots of damage applied to their totals. Was to confuse people. And before someone brings up the example of Ion Judgement, which does the same thing (with adding damage) I urge you to take a look at the Street Justice set..where attacks can do extra damage based on combo level. Likewise, this extra damage is listed in the info..yet is NOT added to the total. Come on..if it works for one set, surely they could get it to display correctly for another?
The damage buff provided by Form of the Body also seems to be too weak. 18% damage, for lvl 3? For brutes with Fury ticcing, they wont even notice this. For a set that seems to be focused on aoe and dot damage, with a lack of big hitters, getting 18% more damage is meh. Not to mention you NEED to use 3 attacks to get it..unlike say claws or db where you can get +30 with one attack. Going back to StJ again..teh damage increase on Crushing Uppercut, from lvl 0 to 3 is..almost 100 damage, or about 25% of the base damage. Another point of comparison..using SS with body gives you a +15% resist bonus! WHich is daaamn nice. It is also MORE than a small orange inspiration, 10% res. So, one bonus effect is better than an inspiration..yet, the +damage effect, that requires THREE stacks, is still worse than a small red (25%)? Umm please explain.
Maybe the set needs/needed the forms inbuilt and a build up clone instead. I really feel the entire set suffers because there is NO way to start a combat at Perfection 3, whereas stj and tw can do the same with their mechanics.
I still love the set. It is really enjoyable to play. But these little niggles stop me from flat out loving the set. -
Ok maybe 3 attacks isnt slinging pain..but compare it to how much damage the other ATs do when mezzed? Go on, add up all those strings of 0.0s. And the argument about other ATs not being mezzed does not hold water..they still CAN be mezzed.
Also, how can blasters being able to use 3 attacks be a disadvantage? Does any other AT have that? Did blasters have it, before? No. So surely it would be an improvement on what they had. Again..dont see the disadvantage.
Back on topic. The pool sounds fun to try. Maybe the damage aura on an MM pet. -

As someone who does not have any khleds (that I actually play) I like some of these suggestions. Was talking to a friend about her PB, and I agree the forms could use something..extra.
Sure, it is nice to suddenly pick one power (nova or dwarf) and magically have acess to all those powers..but after you level up some more..they dont grow with you.
VEATs have their arc and can unlock patrons..give Khleds the same. Which may require the arcs being updated..they are verrry long, compared to the veat arcs. After doing the arcs, let khleds unlock some more powers. Maybe a ranged attack in dwarf, a basic shield for nova?
Whenever I had tried to build a Khled in Mids, I always always run out of slots. Considering the huge amount of extra powers they can have..I just dont think it is quite fair.
What about when the player picks a Form, each new slot they get (from leveling up) is also duplicated to the form(s), but the slots are not interchangeable? If that makes sense. This would also stop people simply picking forms and shifting the extra slots to human powers.
There, my opinions. As someone who doesnt like khleds at all.
Oh wait, 3 ideas. Feel free to skip these ones (they may be a bit silly).
1. An auto death button. Because a khleds primary role is that of veng bait, and it is unfair to expect everyone playing a khled to have the Self Destruction power. Sometimes it is just not practical to run ahead into a mob and die for your team, so let them be able to die, anywhere, anytime.
2. AT form changing stealth power. No one wants khleds on the team. With the voids, tentacles and silly kb. This handy power would let them morph into the appearence of a decent AT, showing up as them in the search window, AT icons etc etc.
3. A new BIG title option, with flashing lights, that shows other people how much you spent on your Khled (more so for WS's) just so they can be impressed by teh fact you lashed out 20 billion and still suck.
