I'm glad I was able to keep that up all these years. Making those videos were a lot of fun. It's strange knowing this game isn't going to be around anymore. Very, very strange and disconcerting.

I've been playing SWTOR for a year, but I suspect I'll be playing CoH until it's gone. As someone said in this thread, I always thought it would be there for me to come back to. *shrug* Might dabble in the Secret World for a bit, and continue playing SWTOR of course. Next game I'm waiting for is the WoD MMO. (Don't judge me)

From what I've heard, he actually contacted Cryptic about using the name Harry Dresden in game, to avoid copyright issues and so on and so forth. Although I haven't teamed with him, before I heard the above fact, I know I reported him for copyright infringement since I saw a dude walking around with the name Harry Dresden. >.>

I snagged a lot of names, some which I held for friends until they could grab them, some I've wanted forever, and my namesake, of course, which was the first one I took. Since the bf was working during that, I logged in and grabbed names for him too. It was a complete mess that first day!

Hey, can we turn this into a rant about the patriarchy now? Because if we do, it'll be just like the other boards I frequent and I'll feel at home once more.

In the lower levels, definitely use inspirations. Instead of going reds & blues, at that level, I'd go 4 purples, a green, and 3 blues. If you can get past the first part of the "punch" (by using purples), then once you have him locked down, you'll have him, so the reds are unecessary. However, without stamina, you'll need the blues... and need the green to heal back in case of a lucky shot.

I wasn't going to poke my nose in here again, but I watched that video... and yeah. I see what Haetron was saying now about Dark Regeneration being a crutch.

One of the things I'd like to mention is that Haetron hasn't ever said it wasn't playable. Every AT is playable, every combination. Any player who tries can make every possible AT combination work.

But every barrell has to have a bottom. I think mostly his argument is centered around that DA is the bottom of the barrell for brute secondaries. His original post never mentioned primaries or IO sets--just basic numbers and personal observations (such as the PBAOE fear and stun toggles) based on playing a DA brute.

As was mentioned somewhere else, there are DA brutes who are awesomtastic to watch. They can mop the floor up with about anything. The same is also true of any player who is used to playing any AT and knows how to work it. The impression I got from this was that, well, compared to other sets, new people would probably get more out of other brute secondaries if they're playing a brute for the first time, or just want to try out DA.

I thought the post was logical, well-written, had facts to support his arguments, made leaps of logic that made sense, and was good to read. As Deebs said earlier, it's nice to see a guide that isn't all sweetness and light, that does point out the bad points of a set and does so in a rational manner without ranting.

I also note that he's provided feedback to constructive comments, and provoked a discussion. Discussions are good. He's also given up points when people have given him a logical, well-thought out reason to do so.

I like that we can have nice discussions.

As far as I know, Terrify does not have a tohit debuff in it. Touch of Fear from the Dark Melee scrapper/stalker sets does, and a substantial one and perhaps they got that confused. I use Terrify as an opener, Psy Scream, then Psy Shockwave when I'm on teams. When I'm alone, it depends upon what I'm facing.

I know a lot of people are down on sleeps, but I keep finding uses for Mass Hypnosis. Not only is the recharge on it relatively short (way shorter than Total Domination or Mass Confusion) it's incredibly useful against second mobs you may have aggroed and if you slot it properly, you can keep mobs perma-slept with it, as just as it's wearing off the power is recharged. But then, I'm a big fan of AOE controls anyway. :P

What I liked most about this video is that it spanned all of CoH, from the beta Rikti invasion to just about everything. I did have a Halloween trick-or-treating part too that I couldn't fit in (couldnt' find a good spot for it) and I did have some Winter Lord footage but couldn't get it to play right... but otherwise we got herding, we got the Storm Palace, we got Kheldians, we got beta, we got just about everything in there...

WAhoo! It's sorta officially done. I say "sorta" because I'm still messing with the credits, but the shots are in how they're gonna be in so the main stuff ain't changing...so I"m posting it. However, there may be a different version later on when I'm happy with the creds.

Second, big apologies to the couple folks who sent something in that didn't get used. The reason why? I couldn't get the demo to work. I don't know why--it was boggling me.

Third, HUGE apology to Starsfire and Pandaa...I didn't get the servers you guys were from. If you can post it or PM me I can change the credits so that they are all done good and proper.

This was probably the easiest video I've ever made. Just grab a shot and plug in. Of course, I watched most of the demos one right after another so I knew "Oh, Windy 15 is the one where she's at the Storm Palace" or "Starsfire 2 has the Supa Troll in it", and while I watched I listened to the song, looking for points that would match up decently. Hence, when I got down to making it, only a couple places stumped me (like the third verse about the gas an' stuff...well, you'll see, I did what I could), and I was limited by what I had... so it wasn't like, "this shot needs to be different. I'll refilm and..." It was just "Ok, plug it in. Does it work? Good enough, next..."

There are some shots in here that I *really* like, and a couple little jokes in here too, but I'd say it's a pretty typical "action shot" video.

Well, CTab asked me if it was a girl, and if it was a girl if it was a hot girl. o.O

A lot of people may be upset at this conceptually, but I, for one, am glad SR is finally getting *something* else! I've seen people comparing Regen and SR, calling them both one-trick ponies...but that's not true. SR is truly the one-trick pony of the defensive sets. Ice does have some resists (tho I feel for you, my ice brothers and sisters!), and Inv has defense, healing, AND resistances...well, I won't get into it here.

What I'm saying is that it's finally nice to have something else. I don't know how it will play, but the effort is noted.

As a side note, I have never understood why Hasten is not in the SR line. I'm not talking the glowy hands--I'm talking about a click power to increase recharge time. Quickness is nice, yes, but that's something I'd expect to find in a pool power, not a secondary line. Isn't being fast all what SR is about? If Hasten is such a big deal, switch it around with Quickness. People won't have to spend slots on a pool power then, it'll be on all the time, and the only ones you have to worry about it being "perma" on is the SR scrappes, and there are few of us left already.

Anyway. It's a good start that sounds good on paper anyway.
