Our SG base had a manky bed, two photocopiers, lots of trees, my throne, Chives pile of dirt, two confrence tables and the Precision Rangers Watercooler which I stole...

    ROFL! Class.

I think we have a shed. Correction, shed with "Repulsor Base Defense" (tm) from our SG Debt badge.
There's no electricity, but I think 'Flux is jacking us up to next door's key meter .

I actually think that the prestige gained is about right, perhaps a bit higher. I think that while anybody lvl10 can make an SG, to have a base is something special. You have to be in a active and relativly big SG to see a fully functional base. Bases are not about a personal "batcave", they are a team effort and only by team effort should a base be possible. If anyone can get a decent base with little work what value do they really have?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Sorry, that's just not acceptable.

I have a small SG with a handful of friends in it. We team together always, we've been through nearly every TF, Trial & badge together. We've run & continue to run through each others AVs & missions & lend a hand, inf' & help to anyone that needs it.
I keep my SG small 'cos I'm picky & the same goes for the other guys. We have standards about how we act, & how we play & we have a damn good laugh & fun doing it .We all get the same input as to what goes on & we would all have the same input building a base... could we afford one.

Last thing I'd want to do is start spam inviting left, right & centre to fill up a little bit more of the prestige piggy bank.

Why should only giant 60+ groups be priviledged to functioning bases? Christ, that's probably actually more people than the Avengers have actually had through their ranks. That's probably just about more people than have ever been an X-Man at one time or another...

"Sorry Fantastic Four, we're taking back the Baxter Building, you're just not big enough. Can we instead interest you in the Baxter Shed?"

And btw, the point about being active & contributing to the team... I teamed with someone from an SG with apparently 60+ people in it & they were complaining that only 3 were online. Well I had 5 on in my much tinier group. By ratio, that makes my group more active & more deserving of a fully functioning base. To the Cactus-Cave!!!

Tbh, keep the prestige functionality, but make the desireable, functional items available through some sort of Supergroup missions or trials. You could then bust your gut to afford a room to house it in, but you've earn't your piece of equipment off a hard supergroup mission, or some such. Best of both worlds, this would still require activity & team work to attain.

The way it stands, as mentioned, there'll be a sparse amount of base raids going on. What a waste of a feature .

But aye, that was back in I5 & yeah, those damn clouds are horrible. I don't doubt for a second I'll never be able to do it again.

Well I am a full PvP build now with some new tricks up my sleeve but u can try again sometime if u feel like

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cool, I will do . I spent my time dazed staggering around Warburg thinking "[censored] is going on", then I realised that getting defeated over & over doesn't count for [censored], because I'll never be PVP'ing enough to rack up enough reputation - the bit I got off my first visit is already gone & "forgotten", & people who beat me up don't get anymore for just sticking to beating me up, so that leaves just taking it on the chin & having a laugh.
Plus I'm stuck for what to change to make my build a bit more PVP'able. May as well learn the hard way by running against a full build & see if I can work some things out as I go. Lots of bumps & bruise on the way I guess, better bring a spatula with me .

Oh I got it all wrong. I been asking people about their builds after they mash my face up, asking about how they slot or stuff like that when I should be cussing the back side off them .

u know of course that no scrapper can come near me unless mogged and if u mog there are nasty surprises waiting from the surprise basket and still i can go afk while you try hit and all u get is miss miss miss . I guess plenty of time to thunderclap and hold while one of my 3 clouds usually up detoggles poor scrappers

    Ermmm, Blasters vs Scrappers???

    [/ QUOTE ]

They do damn well enough actually. My first visit to Warburg got me ripped to shreds by two blasters in very quick short order. I don't think they actually used many ranged attacks at all either.
Tbh, Regen doesn't seem to count for anything once Integration gets dropped & you're stunned, staggering about in circles trying to trigger off your reserves. Then you look at your primary & realise you had the only thing going for you, damage, nerfed well & truly out of the pitch. PVP is now a lot more than being about damage. Anything that stops your ability to actually make an action is going to kill you... holds, right down to a stun or disorient will do it. You get one of them on you & you may as well start picking your teeth back up off the floor.

Make a PVP build if you want to PVP? I think that is damn right. My Spines/Regen build tore thru' PVE without breaking a sweat, but in PVP it's a definite different ball game.

Yeah, the first visit to Warburg is rough. It will open up your eyes. I don't buy into the scummy premise of heroes fighting heroes etc, but you get exactly what it says on the tin. I'll go back into Warburg, 'cos it can be a good laugh. I won't go in expecting to proove anything tho', or win a hell of a lot. Maybe when I get my or another build sorted maybe I can get precious about winning more. When I take a scrapper in there I'm keeping the Blasters in mind always.

Maybe the point is that it's a bit of an [censored] that you'd need consider orientationg more towards PVP. I thinks it's a shortfall for the game that there's a lack of PVE/PVP balance despite some leatherings from the Nerf Bat in the name of "balance". But then again, what are people meant to do currently after 50? I'm sure if any higher level content was ever introduced the PVP'ers may well be shouting just as loudly about how much PVE sucks & is unfair.
Oh wait... it already is ?
  9. Damn, I'm missing another one of your SS TFs .
Good to team with you again last night. Nice bunch of people there too. When you're done trapsing around those floating rocks, come over to the Isles for some Villainy .

OK, well, I was kind of trying to avoid the thorns set as it seems something of a set de jour, but in the end, as Prawnee will atest, this is in fact what I've gone for.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nice, I took plant control & thorns too. I don't know how effective they'll be together but I love 'em just for my radical-botanist-turned-evil-thistle-mutant character. Just makes so much sense & really gels together.
I'm loving my Dominator heaps, how are you finding it?
    Can't wait for the big Fly-Trap...no, big HERO-TRAP! Mwa-hahahahaha !

No matter how many toggles you have when we do 2*Energy punch, Bone Smasher and Total Focus. The combined toggle dropping and stacking stun will definately make you want to be somewhere else... without taunt

    [/ QUOTE ]

LOL, yep I think we all wanted to be somewhere else. I don't think we could see where to go tho' on account of the black eyes & swellings. We're back on solids in 6 weeks, the doctors say .

    It went something like...
"Let's go & check that rocket thing out in Warburg"
    "Yeah, haven't been there yet"
[Take Heli' to Warburg, skip past loads of warning text ]
[swim up to beach & spot two heroes who have weird orange color names instead of blue...]
    "Erm,... does that mean...."
    [wallop, pound, thrash]
    "Yep I guess it does"
    "I don't feel so good"

Ah, we'll learn it... one day .
  12. Reports are leaking out from the Rogue Isles concerning the sightings of an evil thistle .

    Nasty Carduus I think .
  13. [ QUOTE ]

As it is now, you pound a lot on an enemy, and it just flees back into safe territory to recuperate... absolutely disgusting display of cowardice .

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, found that too in Warburg doing the rocket mish'. On Sunday morning as it happens.
Had some good scrapes from a team determined to foil our plans, but we managed to see 'em off with a sound thrashing every time.
Funny thing is a few did the yo-yo thing in & out of the PVP area & snuck back in for some sneaky attacks to find another pounding.
Even better, after that, when we finished launching the rocket, mission accomplished, most of us dropped out for lunch, and the rest of us got sneakily jumped by one of the persistent few who seemed to have spent his downtime rounding up a differeant noticeably more suitable team tooled for a mugging. And mug they did. The attack caught the few of us by surprise & our defender & controller went down in short order (but valiantly I might add). So tbh, just as the previous players had done to me, I legged it to safety. Well, it seemed to be ok for everyone else to do, & I have hardly any previous PVP experience anyway, so monkey see monkey do .
Now, the thing is, it gave me a chuckle to hear "coward" & "chicken" bandied about over b'cast from some heroes that had behaved the same way over & over for the best part of a solid hour.
End of the day, we got the rocket launched .

It's ok tho' if someone can't handle themselves, then maybe they should go get a lot more, bigger buddies to hide behind, and wait until they can pick on heroes who are almost on their own .
I'd be happy to go down fighting in a good straight fight, but I'll make lazy fighters work for their cheap victories. They better shout "coward" louder tho', 'cos I'm already too far away to hear 'em, flapping my new "Ba-GAAWK!" bind.
A couple of things that I learnt from what I was told in my first PVP outing:
Apparently honour doesn't matter if you are in a team mugging a smaller team & retreating is ok for some people to do but not others. Laugh out loud.
  14. I have an insane idea that I want my PB to be pure human from the ground up. It's a concept thing. But is this remotely viable under I6 "diversification". The few levels I've got through seemed pretty end' heavy & I've spent a lot of time on one knee panting & wheezing. Other than that the attacks seem pretty, well, er...maybe they irritate the foes a bit?

Keen for advice, it's my first Kheld' & I'm feeling a bit lost. Growing cacti was waaay easier.
  15. @#£$! HELL! WELL DONE!
Can't beleive I missed it, but big grats!!! Very well deserved. See you oin the 'Isles hopefully .
  16. Well I took Elec'/Elec' 101 with Plight' at the weekend. Very cool. I got Elec'/Elec'/Elec' theory - an exhaustive amount of information on power choices & slotting followed with some practical Elec'/Elec'/Elec' crime fighting in the field - a tour around various mobs & got to see all the powers & their use.
I hope to take the advance Elec'/Elec'/Elec' & PVP module in the future .

Many thanks Plight' for you patience & time & tutoring. You need some kind of extra special Sensei, or Electrician badge . Thanks again.

At home in my lab building & charging up some power gauntlets right now...

    Nice one. Great idea.

I always liked to see powers in use before I went choosing them myslef.
As it happens I've always hankered after getting myself an elec'/elec'. Wouldn't mind getting some hand-me-down wisdom myself .

I'm a blasting cactus, anyone want some growing tips? lol .

Like the X-men, but loads cooler .

More accurately, we started out as a small group of mutant characters, who teamed through a couple of taskfroces & kicked 'em in grand style with no debt .

Other than that, everyone has a real blast & a good laugh getting together, for some thwarting of evil, & some terrible jokes.

If you're interested in working through a lot of content & getting some shiny trophies to boast about in the drinking room, or even playing at your own pace, running with a committed team of genuine people & talented players, that have a load of fun together, without any attitude then check us out.

Upcoming, we have more taskforces planned, some GM hunting for trophies for the hunting room , and some specific badge getting soirees .

Send Mighty Saguro, Tygra, or Snowcat a tell, come and have some fun & see what you think.
