Hi! So sorry, it's one of those typical things where stuff at work kicks off BIG TIME,and even though I did escape and get back, it was way past 7, and even when I did get online, I ended up having to be AFK for a lot of the time . Really sorry, I did forget I would be expected for this as I had made a committment to you , just with so many parrallel things happening I ballsed it up .

Just read that big Posi interview. He reveals that there will be Kheldians for CoV, but probably not with I8 (so it will take some additional time).
One will be the Nictus and be very similar to the Warshade. The other one will be some kind of Peacebringer with some powers swapped to make it more evil.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The summary from the Woot interiew on the US site mentioned comment on the Nictus AT as follows:

"Nictus are confirmed as a lvl 50 villain Epic! They will be like warshades, but an evil version of a peacebringer, with some power tweaks."

Did Positron actually ever say there would be Nictus AND another "Evil Peacebringer" ATs? As far as my thoughts, I'd say in the above context the part about being an "Evil Peacebringer" is a fairly arbitray description connected to the same Nictus AT.

As far as I thought there has been one Nictus AT mentioned, and not a mention of another "Kheldian" themed AT. In another post about character slots, in the General section, Bridger only refers singually to one Nictus Epic AT.

I fully understand I might have missed something somewhere, I'm just not personally so sure atm that there is any more than one Nictus/Kheldian type villain Epic AT being planned.

Personally I can buy into the context of a villainous Nictus/Warshade character with no problem, and will level one for sure when they do get made available. I think it's a great concept that will expand the CoX mythos a littel bit, even if by nature there might be some similar themes or functions to the existing Kheldians.

'sides, comic book culture is rife with inconsistency, re-direction and re-invention .

My bad then. In that case, web grenade to slow regens or holds to stack is the way to go, depending on your play style. If you go for web grenade i'd also get caltrops, as you are a spiney

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I remember rightly, I found it wasn't really possible to stack holds individually as a Scrapper. EVen playing some different slotting I couldn't get a fast enough recharge on it tho build anything close to breaking mez proctection (it was a while back however, and I dropped it since, so maybe it's been adjusted since, or I just plain don't remember rightly ).

You might need to pack a hell of a lot of -recharge to take down a any /regen sensibly managing their heals.
How much is there on the Crey Pistol, I have no idea on any figures and can't say I've stuck around long enough to try an assess it, but I fire it off enough in good hope .
  4. What's a "Win" button?

(Edited because I missed the bit about rated fights only - *puts level 50 Elec' Brute back in box*).
  5. From just a Robots/Traps perspective I got a very large, noticeable increase in surviveabilty by taking Aid Other in place of Repair, and Aid Self in place of the Triage Beacon.

I certainly didn't have the need to take Triage Beacon on top of that, and had enough room and slots left to take some devious and more obscure tricks .

    Base Raid

We're still interested in playing base raids on an ongoing basis .

Just looking to make use of the damn things a bit . If any groups want to attack us, or test their base defense out please get in contact with us.
We are 99% PvP idiots (in a good way ), so you won't get any [censored] grief or hassle. We're looking to take part with any groups with any similar ideas just looking to have fun with their base, and can make some firm arrangements to meet up and do them .
  7. Hey 'Swords . We got close to getting a base raid running, but admittedly with waaay too much short notice it didn't get off the ground. Are you up for making a more specific arrangement to do raids at some point? Can't make any bold challenges, or smacktalk, I'm too [censored] at it . Would just be cool to play with the base toys everyone's been grinding to build for so long now.We can set something up with a sensible amount of notice for everyone that would want to take part.

I'd have anything from a full team of 16 and down to fit & match any size you'd like to run. We can arrange raids back & forwards each way too. Normally we play the raids as they go, so anything goes really, but we could adapt to any particulars you would prefer .

Let me know if there's some interest in this, and if there's a date/time we can shoot for .

You could just use the temp power from RV.

I think having a large Heavy direct from RV would be a bit much. The controller of the Heavy would just hide while it one hits everything and was pretty much impregnable. In the enclosed spaces it would take up all the room too lol.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True, its not practical at all but i bet it would be fun

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah would be fun! Unfortunately it would be a mammoth sway of imbalance to the defenders favour.

Currently attackers are pretty much doomed once the entry point is discovered. It is possible to break a gank area on the spawn point, but it is very very difficult. Defenders who know their base and have built it tactically have giant odds in their favour, which, like you said, is quite right. It's home turf .

If you're SR fighting regen take lots and lots of blues and if he has FA and tactics then run like the wind coz he's going to punch right through your shields.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Done it reeediculously quickly a few times without FA. No idea about Tactics, never tried it.
FA as it was made enough of a mockery of things, and Geas of the Kind Ones was so embarrassing I felt dirty.

Personally, I rarely PvP in Sirens' at all these days. Warburg or RV seem to be much more of an interesting playing field, and usually, a somewhat better atmosphere..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm.. there is PVP action in those places? Everytime I have checked they have been deserted except RV grinders (which are always heroes so I cant attack them). What server are you on?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Defiant. Unfortunately like I said, it's not on as many occasions as I'd like to. I'm much more of an infrequent PvP'er than I'd like to be. Yes, those zones are shamefully underused for PvP .

But, the times I have played in PvP action there it has been mostly a lot better, more fun and more rewarding than Sirens, even with getting my butt handed to me or bounced around every corner on a lot of occasions .

Perhaps, I tend to think, hand in hand with FoTM builds there are just too many people with an easy ride and an unfortunate attitude on perma-residency in Sirens' unfortunately putting a fair few players off PvP entirely. Hardly suprising the higher zones are left barren if Sirens is for the majority an indicator of how PvP is doomed to be .

Last time I wandered past Sirens the other week, I stuck my nose in and found several heroes pounding and beratting a couple of lone villains. Before long we brought some villains into the zone, teamed up and had an even number battle across the zone, and to the villains merit, fought back to Talos Square and beyond. Sadly, it wasn't long before the hero group in residence decided a battle with even number constitues "ganking" and all logged out of the zone in short order. Funny thing is, it was some of the more "powerful" Scrapper builds that went first. Rattles and prams I guess.

But yeah, tbh I could concur that Spines/Regen does really well in Sirens, just a shame hardly anyone wants to play theirs outside that and try a few other things than just Impale on repeat. I've been having more fun and success playing crowd control on my teams with my taunty, fear powers .

Actually, without wanting to derail any further, the best PvP I ever had was when me, and a bunch of sg mates rolled out our squishies and played squishy only tag teams in the arena. Squishy tag teams are soooo much fun. Incredibly fast paced, and you're forced to surrender any ego you have about faceplanting, 'cos with a squishy it's written in stone, so you may as well go all out & just try to rack up bigger scores than the other team. Most of the time we were in hysterics .
  12. Grats to The Evil Echelon villains Kandy Kane, Gandrol, Kimari and Shadow Kitty who all dinged 50 in the last week or so !!! Well done guys, you've left truly despicable trails of villainy across the Rogue Isles !

sorry about late(ish) post guys, it's all been a bit hectic what with the plotting and destroying . Grats again!!!
  13. I rolled a Spines/Regen pretty much as my first character quite some ago, and quite some time before PvP even started to get wedged into the game.

I agree it packs a hell of a punch around the Sirens Call levels.

Personally, I rarely PvP in Sirens' at all these days. Warburg or RV seem to be much more of an interesting playing field, and usually, a somewhat better atmosphere.
If I do PvP, and I happen to play my Scrapper on an infrequent occasion, I'm afraid I'm not going to apologise for it. Complain to the Dev's, not me. I didn't know, and I'm sure a few other more longterm Spines players didn't either, that our characters would apparently be so "devastating" in PvP. I'd like to be able to dust him off an enjoy him once in a while after paying for and playing him for so long already.

Sorry if this sounds curt, but tbh, I'd like to put my hand up as a Spines player labelled wanting "easy kills" or hating "a challenge" and make a point that some of us play and level, and PvP with other alts. I'd go so far to say that I for one have been trying to PvP with some of the more gimpy builds around here and there for a while already . Unfortunately, nerf, or no nerf, I'm not one of the people who's going to made to feel dirty or embarrassed playing my Spiney in PvP on the odd occasion I want to, so apologies ahead if it's me that sends one of your characters to the ground/hospital with an Impale. AFAIK I think my PvP "rep" is consistently sat around 2.5 .

Overly defensive I'm sure , apologies. I don't have a problem with FoTM builds or however people want to spend their time and money. A FoTM build in the hands of an attitude-of-the-month player is something else though .
  14. Grats Criz ! Suprised you had time with all that badging . Glad I could see it too, well done fella .
  15. Nominating Shadow Kitty, Plasmarch & Callista's ever awesome and always entertaining comic strips !
  16. Bah, Hol' postponed.

Up for Troll bashing this week if it's on to make up for it !
  17. Thanks for the badges Doc Genius .

If there's a chance you still have a troll mish kicking around in a week or so's time, I'd love to work on Regenerator too, but I'll most likely miss the next run at it due to being on hol' .

    Cheers again mate !

Dominators are like fat chicks .. nobody wants to be seen on one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you're gonna steal a quote from someone in the US, at least do a proper job of it.

"Dominators are like fat chicks. They are a lot of fun but you wouldn't want your friends to see you on one".

    [/ QUOTE ]

LOL. I noticed that too but wasnt sure how to bring the subject up. Dom's are the best* AT in the game IMO

    * Most fun, your definition of best may differ.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed! Best if your definition is a rewarding AT that has character, concept and personality. Best if you like interesting play with a very real sense of risk . Best if you like to think about your actions and to plan. Best if you like excitement, fun and a lot of reward for playing well .

I'm not finding Dominators any more of a chore to level than any other AT. Tbh, I'm levelling as quickly as my friends Corruptors, and frankly at times I'm levelling too quickly. CoV content is luuuuuurvely, and theres so much to take in .

Dominators aren't like "fat chicks" at all! They're sex kittens!
  19. Well, one of those Dom's would have been mine !!!

Insane enough to restart him from pre-i7 level 40 .

My Dom' is hands down the most fun and rewarding character I have played so far, and I've enjoyed all my alts a lot.
Loving taking him through all the great i7 content!

I've held and beaten down every EB I've come across so far .
Pre-i7, I did pretty good and I think made great support vs AVs, but I guess I'll be taking a second look at it 40-50 .
  20. I'm afraid I won't be able to commit to anything else on Wednesday . A lot of us doing the Recluse strikeforce have early starts and lots of work all over Tuesday, so we'd previously arranged more or less to split the last mission to Wednesday evening at 19:00.

Half gutted as I would love these badges, but we've stomped our way through the "Future" Phalanx and Ms Liberty's puny Vindicators decisively and are all really hooked on the last part on Wednesday .

If any other evening would work, then great, please count me in. My alt for the badges is not in any Strikeforce or other commitment at all. If not, apologies I won't be able to make it, but good hunting .
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Bases are pointless, there is no need to have them once you get travel powers. So by not having access to them you are not missing anything.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure you're not particulary missing a great deal, but I think pointless might be a bit far fetched.

Travel around via base teleport is far more convenient. Even with travel powers, getting sent from Founders to Atlas and back raises a sigh from most heroes. Thank the higher powers for the recent extra beacons .

Base storage items are a great feature, and when actively used build into a really good supergroup resource. It's great to be able to offer members and few of their first SOs free when they hit 22 .

And the insp' selling devices are really convenient when you're on a taskforce and stuck for a quick place to get them.

Perhaps it is nearly time bases were offered to pure COH players though. I would have no problem with it personally. I bought CoV on day one and used it more for the hero base aspect, fully aware that it'd all most likey be made more widely available for less cost down the line.

I like the bases, and the hints of more base content in the future looks great .

    Empowerments

Can't remember the difference between the 1st and 2nd tier empowerment stations, but the 3rd certainly offers a select few more buffs I'm sure. I hooked up the 3rd looking for the invisibilty buff, and some energy resistance, and +perception, and found them. I'll go back and recheck the differences available.

We actually gave these a trial in a base raid, and hulked on them. Have to say, overall we did notice a enough difference to plug some holes. On the flip side, it's easy to burn through quite a bit of salvage using them.
  23. Any chance at all of kicking off a little earlier if at possible, maybe 7ish. I may well be committed to the last mish on the recluse SF, unless we conquer it tonight.

I'll get back about this tomorrow. Thanks for organising it thus far tho'!
