My original main is not my main. I enjoy Force Fields, but with all the new Defender/Corrupter sets, as well as all the melee stuff, I'm always working on new toons.
I guess my current main is a Kinetic Melee/Ninjitsu Stalker. I also have a main Blaster, but once she hits 50, my Beam Rifle/Time Manipulation will probably be my main -
Fluffy... but more oily and less vaporous.

FINALLY... those points were starting to pile up... and I have so many uses for these sets!

Quote:Oh sure, but other than that, what do we know? From Dev communications, I know that coming to the market (and some of these will also be available with in-game merits) are:
- Carnival of Light Costume Set
- Coyote Travel Power
- Super Packs
- Dark Wolf Vanity Pet
- ATOs and their upgradeable Superior forms from Catalysts
- Elemental Order Costume Set
- Enhancement Converters
- Cherub Vanity Pet (OK, this one was a leak)
Incidentally, I knew the release dates of the Winter and New Years Packs before they went live.
I know the next Tier 9 VIP rewards is the Fire and Ice Costume Sets (that's with an 's')
I know that the Spring Fling (Valentine) Event will be the same as previous years but this time they added Valentine Tips that's very story driven and a lorist's squeam (squee + dream).
I know the next Signature Story Arc has a major plot point and will come out next week.
I know that Issue 22 Beta will start within a week or two and it will have a revamped Dark Astoria as a co-op Incarnate zone geared for solo-advancement. And that it will complete all the Dark Sets for Controllers, Corruptors and Doms.
I know that Staff Melee is coming some time after Issue 22.
I know what bugs are actively being pursued (Known issues list)
I know what patches will be coming to Live weeks ahead of time.
I know that the major story arc of Praetoria is coming to a close and a new one concerning the Battalion will be beginning.
I know that there will be a Retro Sci-Fi costume set sometime in the future.
I know that future costume sets will be made more equitably with same or very similar pieces for both male and female models with appropriate exceptions to the rule.
I have access to a huge chunk of most mechanical stats and formula the game uses (try getting *that* from the devs of other games).
I know the real names of many of the Devs and can engage them in one-on-one PM conversation (which I only use in the most extreme cases... I don't want to abuse that access lest I lose it). And still many of the Devs will respond to anyone, even a name they don't recognize from the forums (try doing *that* with the devs of other games).i
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
I think the OP has a point. -
First off, ITF is the WTF, so people aren't interested in a challenge, they're interested in getting their Lucky Charms as quickly as possible so they can run their next toon through.
Secondly, with so many lvl 50s lvl-shifted and incarnated out, in order to get any challenge you need to go to +4, and then you'd still want to make it a "kill all" affair.
I admit I felt the same way when I ran 5 ITFs back to back earlier in the week, but it's really a function of the above two points for now. -
Quote:It's getting rebooted, but the point stands. APB had the best customization hands down, but without game play to back it up it crashed and burned.
I don't mind that we're not the King of Customization anymore, because we're still in the very top tier, and the game play is solid. -
I like playing a mature MMO. I'd certainly try out CoX 2, but I would stick around in this game as long as I could. The history of MMO sequels is mixed (AC2 died, EQ2 seems to survive, but EQ didn't go away), but once a sufficient community develops, the original game usually lives on.

Mental Giant was reborn as a Mind/Psy Dom on Exalted, although he's still lvl 2.
My first Villain 50, Knifey Wifey, was supposed to be more of a knife wielder (obviously), but I had to settle for Ninja Blade at launch. When Dual Blades came out, I rolled up a new version on a different server as a DB/Willpower Stalker. I even made a heroic version of her that never became an evil knife-wielding manic... she was a heroic dual-sword wielding maniac! (DB/WP Scrapper)
So no, you're not being original, but as folks have said previously: who cares?
EDIT: Just remembered, I rerolled Black Dynamite (MA/Dark Scrap) when Street Justice came out (SJ/Dark), but I don't delete 50s, so I moved the original BD to Exalted (and lost my name somehow...). -

So what is the target level, anyway? I saw a lot of cheatin' over the weekend!

All "modern" MMOs should emulate CoX's travel system. I can see why an old school sword n' sorcery game might want to keep the plodding travel pace, but anything that can reasonably have fast personal travel or a vehicle should have it, and as soon as possible.
As far as mission progression, I have seen games that allow "mission sharing" so people can catch up, but I still think having long missions chains is a bad idea. -
No, Corruptors are the perfect AT. Defender primaries as their secondary, and damage primaries. 'Nuff said.
-
Inspirations are indeed awesome, and I don't know why the idea hasn't caught on. Some other games have consumables outside the conventional potions, but usually they need to be crafted and don't fall like rain like in our game.
-
Define "lots". I have 44 toons, mostly on Victory, and around 20 or so 50s.
This does not seem excessive. -
Concept is King, but when the new sets come out I can always work up a concept on the fly.
-
Gratz, guys!

We had a good run tonight... 8 people for most of the time.
The target level may be somewhere in the 42-43 range. -
Not helping, Flux.
Not all of us have to travel out of state to see family, Ham.
I'll be in the base at 8 on Wednesday for whoever wants to come along. -
