Also, for the DOs that *do* drop, are you selling them at the correct vendors? There is a difference in the amount of INF you get back.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wasn't aware of this. Care to elaborate?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's more noticable at SO levels, but if you get a Science/Mutation DO and sell it at a Tech store (for instance,) you'll get less INF than you will selling it at a Science or Mutation store.
Also, 300k inf?
Go to the market.
Find a group of SOs. Say, Science.
Just start bidding about 1500 inf on anything that's there. If one gets bought, try a few more 'til you can't buy any more. Fill up, go to the appropriate store. Sell the load of SOs you bought. Rinse, repeat. I can usually get at least one load of SOs sold and a few hundred K INF that way. You may have to try a few origins.
Example - just took a new character that had 15k. Bought whatever Alpha Particle Exposure (Science, Recharge rate) SOs I could (redside) at 1500 a pop - and ONLY those. Got six. Sold, I now have 116k. If I wanted to run back and work on the others, I could conceivably expect to end up with 400-800k, depending on what's available on the market, just off the science origin SOs.
(Edit: Of course, for full disclosure, that character doesn't need to worry about DOs. My 50 makes a ton of level 15 Acc, Dam, End and Recharge just for lowbies in the SG - which, by the way, is something else to look into when you get more INF, as memorized recipes = cheaper.) -
Don't worry about slotting completely with DOs (or IOs.)
One free IO - do the invention tutorial. Accuracy's usually a good one to pick (level 15.)
Other than that, slot Accuracy and End reduction. Don't worry so much about damage.
Also, for the DOs that *do* drop, are you selling them at the correct vendors? There is a difference in the amount of INF you get back. -
Minigames have been suggested before - like making the... think there are/were pinball tables in Pocket D work.
As JUST a little aside, sure.
Throwing INF or other rewards at them... nope. Nothing other than pinball-esque "top 10" lists. -
Psst...
You can rename them, too. >.> -
Copying the Freedom server's database?
Who plays on Freedom? Sheesh. -
We have no details other than what was given, however from what was mentioned and shown:
- Adventuring in the Praetorian Earth (and if you don't know what that is, heroside, 40-50, Tina Mcintyre and Maria Jenkins.)
- "Side switching" / Moral compass - we don't have all the details though. -
It's been suggested before, will be suggested again, and I still agree.

And here we go with a super long range necropost. This was the guide I used when I started my Brute, and he dinged 40 the weekend before Grandville opened. Took my time to get to 41. Then I left the game for nearly 3 years.
Now I'm/he's back. Starting with IOs, where should he go from here?
[/ QUOTE ]
Start with reading this. Still a decent overview if you're not used to IOs. I'd wander into the brute forum afterward for specifics. -
I think Flame_Blade has it pretty well covered.

[ QUOTE ]
I think he has an interesting idea actually. What if they got a bonus to endurance and regen with low HP and attack with high HP? That would make them more effective solo or while teaming with a lot of defense.
[/ QUOTE ]
Blending it like that instead of replacing it outright is, IMO, a better approach - and would, as you said, help a bit more solo, which is the biggest weak point in the defender inherent at the moment. -
[ QUOTE ]
No, as in a reward for doing their job.
[/ QUOTE ]
Force fielder stays in range of the team, bubbles the rest of the team. Regardless, there's still a chance to hit - sometimes, for quite a bit. NPC "rolls," and hits two of their four person team for a good bit of damage.
The force fielder has done their job correctly - they've buffed the defense of the team. The team still got hit. But now, nothing the defender can do can protect them more or undo the damage - yet the defender now does less damage.
[ QUOTE ]
If people are getting injured it would be an incentive to focus more on support, when people aren't getting injured they'd focus more on damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
"Defender" is not a synonym for "Healer." What is a Sonic or FF going to do? Buff them again?
[ QUOTE ]
It would certainly make more passive sets *cough*forcefields*cough* more fun to play and would make them a + to any team, even if the team already has decent support.
[/ QUOTE ]
They already *are* a plus to any team. You've just punished them by *decreasing* their damage when it may be needed more. Meanwhile, for the sets that can heal and debuff, you've just made their job harder, since they're not getting the endurance discount that would allow them to maintain debuffs (or buffs) longer and make their endurance stretch further. -
... which means as people get injured/taken down, the defender also becomes weaker and less able to fight off whatever's causing the problems... as opposed to being able to stretch their powers farther due to the lessened endurance cost?

I'd say it's before July. The steel structures have been around - and apparently what they were intended for has been abandoned, if I recall War Witch's comment correctly.
It'd be interesting, sure. It just has nothing really to do with I15, which is more tied to the return of the 5th column and, presumably, the release/revenge of Reichsman. -
Viable? Sure. But you're going to be missing some of the utility in the human form if you neglect it - plus there's a lot of power picks you'll be missing. Heals, HP boosts, damage boosts, Eclipse and the Essences (for a 'shade) and more are all big items. You can, of course, also pick up things like Hasten which will only trigger in human form, but whose buffs will carry over into the other forms.
I'm sure someone has played it that way and can give you details, though. -

And hey, where the hell is my [color=orange]moon zone[/color}???
[/ QUOTE ]
The moon zone is not what you think it is. Very appropriately, it butts up right against King's Row. They decided to utilize that blocked off entrance on the back end of the zone. I just hate to think of what problems will rear their head with it. -

I can see this not boldin too well with players once it releases

But how does it italicize? -
(Yes, I was in an odd mood when I threw this together. Enjoy.)

A few days later
"How did it go?" the agent asked, sounding nervous.
"Not bad. Few hours and it was done," Mischief said, handing over her bill, getting a wad of cash in return.
"So, did she fight much?" he asked, taking the itemized list and checking over his shoulder.
"At first, yeah."
The agent's brows furrowed. Wha? "Did she scream? Beg for her life? Or just keep prattling on like she does?"
"She doesn't prattle, really. And she didn't scream. Giggled a bit here and there."
The agent looked up. "She... giggled? Mynx?" He decided to take a close look at the bill.
"Well, yeah, as we got to talking, especially about Synapse and some of the new blood she sees. And the pedicure. Her feet are ticklish, apparently."
"Pedicure?" He looked at the bill. Italian restaraunt, two bottles of wine, several hours at a spa... "What is all this?"
"I did just what you asked me to do. She says thanks, by the way. She's feeling much more relaxed." Mischief looked at the agent. "Maybe you should take a day off, too. That vein in your forehead is really standing out, and I don't think you should be that red." She pointed. "They might need one too."
"You...!" he started, stopping as the guards' hands grabbed his shoulders to haul him away for some explanations as Mischief slipped away, whistling a little tune, flipping through the cash before sticking it in her pocket. -
Mynx stood, arms crossed, leaning against the wall. She watched the tram for a while, observing some of the newer heroes trying out their travel powers. She laughed as one, who hadn't quite gotten the hang of the jump she'd taught him yesterday, missed the station and tumbled on the ground.
"Mynx, behave," Synapse said. "We don't want to discourage them by laughing," he added, scolding his prodigy.
"I see that grin on your face, too, so don't give me that," she shot back.
"I can't help it. I have a better view up here. You missed the speedster hitting the ramp and launching himself into the map in the station."
"Awww, man. Why can't I just sit on the wall or something? All I see through most of this are bricks, anyway," she complained. "At least until someone comes by...."
"There you are!" a voice came from behind her. Mynx jumped and spun, claws coming out, hissing.
"Woah, woah," said the newcomer - another catgirl. Mynx thought she looked familiar, but couldn't place from where.
"It's usually a bad idea to sneak up on me. I tend to be a bit twitchy," Mynx said. "And don't you say anything," she added, glaring at Synapse, who promptly shut his mouth. "So, what can I do ya for? New security level to be authorized?"
"Nope. I've been given a job, and you're it," said the newcomer.
Mynx looked at Mischief with confusion. "I'm it?" She looked at Synapse, who seemed just as confused. "You didn't set this up? Some other stupid joke?"
"Nuh-uh," said Synapse, eyeing the stranger. "And what do you mean, stupid?" he added, sounding hurt.
"Well," said Mischief, "if you're wound up so tight, that explains it. I'm here to take you out." She held out a hand. "Name's Mischief," she said, turning to Synapse as they both got very wary. "Mind if I borrow her for a few hours? Our reservation's due in a few."
Mynx looked at Synapse.
Synapse looked at Mynx, a grin spreading across his face. "I didn't do it," he said, starting to laugh. "Sure, why not, she can take care of herself."
"But what about the training?" Mynx asked. In response, Synapse pulled out a control box and pressed a button. Right next to Mynx appeared a hologram, very solid and realistic looking, save for the wispy circle at her feet defining the projection's edge. In response to Mynx's look, Synapse shrugged. "Had to do something for your sick days. What, you think Positron actually just stands around Steel?"
Mynx leaned in and looked at the hologram. "It looks nothing like me."
The hologram leaned forward and stuck out its tongue. "If you don't need training, shoo," it said, waving her away.
Mischief tugged at Mynx's arm. "C'mon, let's go."
Synapse grinned, hearing her complaints as she left. "It really looks nothing like me, you know. My hair is NOT that bright," she said, turning the corner. -
"I have a contract which requires your... unique standing, if you're interested."
Feliney Mischief's ears perked up. "Oh?" She raised an eyebrow. The ex-hero, ex-scrapper turned assassin was already wary. "Unique standing, huh. OK, you've got three minutes."
The anonymous agent adjusted his sunglasses. "We've had an unwelcome visitor to our labs, who made off with some rather sensitive information. Information that could be embarrassing if it were found missing."
"You're loving the sound of your own voice too much. Two minutes, forty seconds." Mischief wasn't fond of people trying to make themselves sound important by throwing syllables around.
The agent sniffed. "All right. We've had something stolen from us."
"And you want me to get it back. OK, standard -"
"No. Someone else is working on that, the party responsible has already passed it off. We have something else in mind. We want you to go to Paragon City." He straightened his glasses. "We want you to take Mynx out."
Mischief looked at him strangely. "You want me... to take Mynx out."
"Yes."
"Well..." she said, looking at him oddly. "I suppose there's a first time for everything. All expenses covered?"
"Of course. We'll even provide discrete transport to Paragon City." The agent crossed his arms. "This is vital. If nobody takes out Mynx, it's my head on the line."
"Well, why don't you take her out yourself?"
"She's a bit out of my league, wouldn't you say?" the agent asked, irritated. "Look, are you taking the job or not?"
Mischief thought about it a moment, then shrugged. "Why not. It sounds like fun."
The agent just shook his head, then handed over the contract. "Turn in the expenses when you're done. I want details. I'd rather face some of the things the Circle summons than the finance department."
"You got it, baldy. Back in a few days!"
The agent watched Mischief go. Something bothered him, but he was reasonably sure it was just stress and the cafeteria pizza he had for lunch. A little Nutri-Flux would settle his stomach. This assassin was a professional, after all. After looking around, he turned and went back to the office. -

/e would kill for Nictus VEATs.
Seriously. They took the evil Kheldians and made them heroes. WTF.

*points at Kheld story guide*
The "redeemed" Warshades actually come up in a few plot points during the Kheld story arcs - early on, in fact, when they think the Peacebringers have broken their truce and decided to hunt them down, as well as with the rogues. -

I'd actually be in favor of a feature that allowed me to block everyone from seeing my powers and badges.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's called "not teaming with anyone".
[/ QUOTE ]
And I do that whenever I run across those jacktards that insist upon enlightening me with their vast knowledge on how I should be playing my characters because they think I was put on this planet for the sole purpose of keeping them entertained.

While I disagree with the other post about seeing enhancements - I have to disagree with you on this.
I was, for some reason yet unknown to me, inclined to join a PUG the other day in Striga. They were mid-high 20s, I was on my lvl 21 Scrapper. Another scrapper and a tank. We're fighting vamps.
I notice we get wiped quite frequently. (As in, I've died more in this one mission than I have all the way to 21.) Looking at their powers - one has few attacks, one (the scrapper) - doesn't have their mez protection. At all. SO their battles go Attack - Held - Dead.
We end up with another tank, a Stone tank. So far, I'm keeping my mouth shut, trying to help out with my still-DO level acc. Stone tank has a decent build - armors, a few attacks, mud pots, rooted.
Their attack chain - Run in, get mezzed, die. Dying fast enough it might as well be an Earth controller trying to melee, not a tank. I see them pop on brimstone (!!) armor... same thing. After a few team wipes, because I could see they had it, I sent them a tell - "You know, you won't get mezzed if you have Rooted on." Their reply "Oh, I didn't know it protected against that."
...
The rest of the mission went reasonably smoother after that.
So, yes, looking at builds does, in fact, come in handy. As does, to use your words, "vast knowledge on how (they) should be playing" - like, using your mez protection vs mezzing enemies.
-
It'd just make it that much easier for folks to ignore.
Yeah, call me a cynic. *shrug* Some, though, I don't see a point to in this forum. How to get on the test server? That's over in test. "Villains, lets make a list!" is vague. EULA violations? Account scam? -
I know on mine it (can) give a message about Windows reducing its graphics because a program ... eh, forget the wording, but basically isn't compatible with the Aero effects, but I haven't had that affect performance.
Just sounds like it's losing connection to the server or some such to me. Or it's exceptionally low on memory, for some reason. I don't remember it being quite that bad when I was running 2 gig, though it's happier now that I have four. (You are, in fact, running a system very much like mine when I first loaded win7x64 on it - I've since upped the memory, processor, and video card "just because.")
