  1. Mostly yes. Only worry being having some sales and such lost or ignored from not being in the list (just from missing them being mentioned.) But as a quick resource, yeah.

Secondly, bases can have hospitals and stores for inspirations. They can even have a hosptial upgrade where you can create inspirations. They also have workbenches where you can create buffs.

In other words, its not needed.
... assuming (a) you have a contact in zone, (b) that contact will SELL to you right then (TF/SF/Ouro,) (c) you have a base with a hospital AND autodoc...

You're making a lot of assumptions there. And as far as not needed... neither is a base, with rez ring and insp dispenser (which starts out with JUST CABs and health) so...

The OP's request was one of convenience. Nothing wrong with that. (And again - some of those same contacts are direclty IN or By a hospital, as I listed.)

    hospital upgrade

I've heard similar things suggested from time to time. There are already contacts near some of the hospitals (or even in them) - Darrin Wade, Dr... sheridan? in Steel, two in Brickstown, Shelly Percy, the one that's actually IN the hospital in IP -

Having an inspiration store, at the least, I wouldn't see as a big deal. Don't hospitals tend to have pharmacies, after all?

Not sure about the temp powers. *shrug* We get some of them here and there anyway, but not all that often. (And they'd hardly put a def or corr to retirement. :P )

Even if they DO have Concealment: Stealth, it will suppress and leave them visible to the other spawn. But the tank won't suppress, meaning his aggro radius will be smaller than that of his team. This is not good for a tanker. My earlier opinion was that at worst it would be annoying, and at best it would be unhelpful. Now at worst it would be the death of frailer teammates. Don't get me wrong, this is good for scrappers and non-tanking brutes, but for a tank it's bad..
    Ahh... BUT:
    1. The tanker will have Gauntlet going with every hit.
    2. The tanker will have a taunt aura, most likely, also increasing aggro on him,
    3. The tanker may have Taunt itself (which I find great for that situation, personally - separate groups by taunting and breaking LOS as opposed to rushing in.)

The aggro the Tanker's generating just by doing what he does naturally should be enough to keep attention on him 'til he hits the aggro cap (and beyind, really,) despite the bit of stealth from CoD. Stealth is not an "aggro eraser." Placate (and Superspeed - look at your combat attributes, you'll see your threat level going down with it on) are, really. So even if they do turn to attack the squishies, it's not going to be the whole group - and they'll likely only get a shot off before turning back to you. (Barring blasters nukingthe spawn... in which case, who cares what the mobs are angry about, they've now got a mouthful of dirt. )

Plus, of course, if the tank's worried about it - now that he has the spawn further away from the other - he can turn off COD. I personally tend to find my DA tank more of a toggle managing playstyle than other tanks. I'm switching between COF, OG and the like frequently.

I dont' know about that. Yeah, the O-portal's handy - but so's having one-stop-shopping in the base (plus some crafting,) then being able to go wherever. Of course, it's easy to do with four porters redside. Blueside, it takes a bit more.

    Rad def or corr

Well, the first and most "duh" question is - what side do you want to play on? Yes, we'll have GR eventually, but it's not here right now.

Second, as far as Scourge vs Vigilance - until you get on a larger team, it takes a bit to get anything out of vigilance. Scourge is useful solo or on teams. (And there's the psychological bit - you KNOW it's working. And seeing all the "Scourge" come up is just fun. Though it's more fun with DoTs and rains. >.> )

In which case... you STILL won't have a team.

I have a solution for you. Go play guild wars. You can buy NPC "teammates" any time you want.

    Edit:
    Alternately, accept this package.
$2500/week to me, post taxes (paid by you) so I can quit my job.
    Full medical and dental included.
    Internet access included.
Separate COH account, paid for by you, with all slots on the server of your choice unlocked.
New system, every year, your expense (business expense.)
Minimum 5 year term, even if COH shuts down its servers tomorrow.

That would still net you only 16 hours/day (since I need to sleep, eat, etc.) but, within reason, I'd guarantee availability. Of course, either you'd have to pay more over holidays (as I'd be giving up family time to sit and wait for you,) vacations (I'd be missing a reunion and a wedding, at the very least,) and more. Don't forget there'd have to be sick time and such as well which, of course, would mean I wouldn't be available anyway.

Feel like paying up? No? Then don't demand I drop everything to team with your whiny butt.

I would be curious to know over time if this makes a difference. Very true.

  15. Actually, as I'm recalling, the whole MM = Tank bit doesn't mean "Let the pets take the damage," but "Take advantage of bodyguard." YOU still take the damage. (AOEs are a huge weakness.)

If you try to let the pets "tank" for you, yeah, they're going down fast.

I'm not sure if any of these are "new" or not - but the second I turn on "Friends/SG only" and open email... they're gone.

(And I'm appreciating it even more while playing Aion. Email spam there -t hough it costs them in-game currency - is actually not an issue. Having to take the first several minutes of a play session to block the *now graphically enhanced* spam scrolling by General, Find Group, and class chats... oy.)

Edit: As far as "always finding a way," I've heard thirdhand about some standing in WW and the like spamming local. Haven't seen it myself.

Stealth *can't* fully replace the move. It doesn't provide immobilization protection or +perception. In order to do that, you need to pick *four* powers - Stealth (or a temp stealth,) Combat Jumping, a prereq in leadership, then Tactics. (Alternately, an IO for perception - don't know the #s to compare, though. The Stealth IO isnt' comparable, IIRC.)

Now, for me, I prefer Leaping on my tanks in general, so I have CJ - which eliminates one consideration for the toggle for me. The stealth can come in handy, perhaps - but I can pick up the patrol power from a PVP zone, if I want, as well. The +Perception, honestly, is part of what has me looking at it when I do. That *is* useful to me. (Ghosts, KoA, Night widows, etc.) It doesn't make it a "Pick up ASAP" power for me, no - but it is useful.

    False.

Kheldians using forms MAY FIND they prefer using tray swapping keybinds. Many do. Others may choose to have powers arranged in different fashions - I could probably fit the various form powers on so they're always visible, but I don't, or use a combination of macros, or some other mechanic. Therefore, Khelds do NOT lose performance when not using tray swapping keybinds.

Example: I could, completely ignoring the tray swapping, assign numpad 7-8-9-5 (an inverted T) to my Nova attacks, shift-click for my Dwarf teleport, and use 1-2-3-4-6 for my Dwarf attacks, heal, and taunt. No tray swapping needed. Is my Kheld now less powerful? I'm not using tray swapping keybinds. Have I lost DPS? Have I lost resistance? Are my attacks slower?

ALso, human only Kheldians have no use for tray swapping keybinds.

Last, I have non-Kheld characters who can use "tray swapping keybinds" as well - such as to easily move my buffs versus my attacks within easy reach, depending on teaming situation (which do I want immediate, number key access to?) Doing so on my Controller or Defender makes them benefit from tray swapping keybinds.
    Quote:
Players may use the tray swapping because they don't want 3 trays on their screen, but they wouldn't become slower and thus weaker by not using them.
I'm assuming you mean "Players of other ATs" by that. Otherwise you've contradicted yourself. Besides, look at the prior reply, with tray-swapping for team buff vs offense - wouldn't having to click or use a modifier (not using a keybind) be slower (and thus "weaker") than swapping out the tray via a bind?

In the Khel case, I will hold long existing bugs as a ding against the design, when the design of the set itself creates the existence of the bug in question.
Prove it. Prove it's not an overall bug that happens to show up more frequently with Kheldians. Prove that it's the design of the kheldians themselves causing the bug, not something else.

I know as well as you do that it's a silly request. Holding that bug as a point against the AT - when I haven't seen it on mine very frequently at all (and running a newly Nova'd 'shade, I've been switching a lot lately,) when it's not something you can "rely" on happening even once per play session - is just as ridiculous.

I agree, bugs are annoying. What does that have to do with the AT? Masterminds, when introduced, could do NO damage to players via their pets in PVP. That was annoying. That was also a bug. Neither that nor what you describe are part of the (respective) AT design. Holding that against them is, frankly, not fair in the least.

If the VEAT toggles got hit with a bug today that, say, debuffed the team instead of buffing them, oh, one out of every ten times, would you hold that against the AT as bad design, or would you put that down as a bug that needs to get fixed? If you wouldn't hold that against the VEATs, don't hold "My powers that should be available no longer are when I switch" - a bug - against Khelds.

See, you're putting your opinion ("klunky, poorly thought out") there as a fact. It plays *differently.* That's a fact. "Klunky" is not. "Klunky" is an *opinion.* Someone who's stressing numbers, well... show me the formula for "klunky."

    Quote:
But please quit spewing the ridiculous statement that "Khels are Epic because of the storyline!!" The Khel storyline isn't the Illiad. There's nothing epic about them. They're nothing but another AT in a game
... that unlike the others, pre-VEAT, were:
    - Forced to a specific origin
    - Given a specific foe that HUNTS them
    - had a separate storyline written SPECIFICALLY for them.

Thus, "epic" in the "story" definition. They are there because of the Kheldian war. The ability to form-shift is explained via the storyline. Blasters arent' there because of anything specific. Nor are tanks, brutes, etc. There's no "Mastermind storyline." I cannot write one of these for Defenders. Yes, there's an overall COV storyline that's not AT specific. Yes, there are various COH storylines - that arent' specific to anyone. But Khelds got one *in addition,* tied *specifically* to what they are.
Nobody CLAIMS it's great literature. Yet they ARE tied to that story - thus, that definition of epic. Again, just because you may not care for them, doesn't mean you get to ignore that definition - the very one handed down to us by the devs. The ones who CHOSE the "tied to a storyline" (note "tied to" as opposed to "This is the best story ever written,") over the "more powerful by a large margin than anything else" definition.
Hell, VEATs get the same thing and I *certainly* don't claim THAT's good ... yet they're also given the title "epic," and have their own, separate storyline and unique starting contact in addition to the rest of the game. I'd say that, as well, trumps the "don't give me the storyline" argument. VEATs also, by *that* definition and not power or what have you, fall under "epic." They're forced to one origin, forced to fit a certain look in their first costume because of their storyline, and are given a separate storyline and unique set of contacts unavailable by any means to the normal ATs to go through their separate story. The one they're tied to - that makes them fall under the "Epic AT" definition we were handed before.

I am going to easily state that X is better than Y by the numbers.
For the overall package? Or just looking at DPS or something else? Just how picky will you be? Are you taking into consideration that (for example) while you're fighting something with your Warshade, even in Nova, that while you're doing X damage, you're *taking* less because everything you hit is slowed and not recharging as fast? Or is that not entering into this equation? Or that a Peacebringer is dropping their defense, making it easier to hit them each subsequent time? Hell, BZB, you're telling me that *staying alive,* gaining resistance, more HP, beign able to ignore immobs (by getting inherent teleport) AND getting a self heal - IE, Dwarf form - is less efficient than... faceplanting. I don't find laying in the dirt to provide very high DPS.

Hell, I *think* it was you I had the argument with via EnA brutes (if not - well, it's been a while) along the same lines, where I mentioned taking the brute *as a whole* into consideration. That my primary (EM) and its stuns were part of how I would offset any "holes" with EnA. I'm seeing the same thing with Fire - SS, to me, pairs far better with the set than Energy does. But how often does that come into "Play X tank" discussions?

    /this.

People "swear by" (often) Stone tanks. I have yet to get one past the early 20s. Yet I love my "squishy" Fire and Dark tanks. Completely different style of tanking needed. I can't stand Scrappers - getting one to 50 was a chore to me in my "one of everything to 50" quest - yet - or precisely because - they're suggested to new people to try out because they're "safe and give lots of room to make mistakes." I don't enjoy my Widow or Bane, still giving the Crab a chance because it's a vastly different playstyle (lack of stealth, seems like more range, etc.) but so far, I don't enjoy VEATs - while I love HEATs (and wish Voids hadn't been nerfed) because of their wide flexibility.

None of them get IO'd out. Though it feels like the VEATs (so far) are designed with "Use IOs to cover these" in mind. Admittedly they're designed from scratch with IOs in the game. But that's another part I *don't enjoy.* Similarly, I love my Doms, I have no interest in perma-doms (and didn't even pre-dom buff.) I don't find the "IO everything to softcaps" enjoyable. Some do, great for them.
