Nah, I'm good. FF can be pretty easy to play, compared to some of the other supports. There's a knack you need to learn concerning the proper use of Knockback, but other than that it's pretty easy.

You're looking for City of Heroes: Going Rogue Complete. That version is released tomorrow.

Quote:"You are now thinking about what Zarbon did with your body while you were unconscious. So... have fun with that."This episode and the last one had me in tears, lol.
"He's conquered hundreds of planets, and slaughtered billions of people."
"Eeeeeeeeeee!"
But yeah, Goku's squeeing over Freeza was just perfect. That and he managed to hang up on King Kai. Kind of. He out stupided him, or something. -
Quote:So about 19 hours away at the time of this post. Got it. That makes it... 18:00 Central European Summer time. The City of Heroes Going Rogue Complete Collection, as well as the Complete Collection Item Pack, could be available as early as 9am Pacific tomorrow, but it might go up a little later than that.
Its definitely okay to get a good nights rest tonight.
I'll just put up this World Clock link for all of us international players to see. -
Quote:Thanks! Just to be that annoying customer that keeps asking questions... When, exactly? Midnight? If so, in what time zone? Just so I don't have to keep refreshing the NCSoft store page all the time. The City of Heroes Going Rogue Complete Collection and the Complete Collection Item Pack, will be available as a digital download for our NA and EU customers from the NCsoft store on Tuesday, August 17th. Both the digital and retail edition of the Complete Collection include the Complete Collection Item Pack and 1 month of gametime.
The Complete Collection Item pack, which is included in the Complete Collection, will also be available as a separate download from the NCsoft store tomorrow for customers who do not have the Complete Collection but would still like the additional items. ($6.99/5.99/£4.99) -
As long as the filename is CoHUpdater.exe, you won't. That's what triggers the popup. Any file with Update, Setup, or Install in the name will cause it.

Quote:No. Don't touch the KB on Force Bolt. Or rather, if they do, increase it. If you can't think of a reason why you'd want a fast recharging single target mother-of-all-knockback power, well that's your problem. Let me count the ways...It still puts it at KB, rather then KD. Yes, the boss won't go flying a gazillion feet, but thats a good thing. Tossing a boss across a room is a great way to earn the ire of your teammates. In fact, I can think of extremely few, if any reasons why you would need to throw a boss that far, other then just simply for ***** and giggles. Only thing I can think of is negating -KB from controllers who spam their AoE Immb.
1. Boss is barreling down on me, I float left and angle my Force Bolt so the target flies across the room... and hits the Scrapper. Problem solved.
2. Ever play ping-pong against a wall? With an Elite Boss as the ball? With the right timing, you can keep it nearly perma-ragdoll'd.
3. You cannot slow a Warwolf, so it'll happily run out of debuff patches. *PUNT* Bad dog! Stay! Lie down! Good dog!
4. Ever knock down an Archvillain? On purpose? (Okay, some are too resistant, but not all...)
5. Okay, this is a party trick, I'll admit, but... Have you ever knocked something back so hard that you lose targeting on it before it landed? That never gets old. You usually need to be a good 20-30 levels above the target to do this, though.
Force Bolt is the Swiss Army Knife of Forcefields. It's useful in so many situations, and pair it with Hover and you can deliver that enemy exactly where you want it after a little bit of practice. Knocking an enemy into the face of a Tanker/Scrapper and watch them do their thing never really gets old.
If Forcefields is to get a buff, it has to be better at what makes it unique: Defense buffs and Knockback. As a lone Defender can softcap the entire team, Defense is pretty much covered. Knockback, however, could use some love. There are still other contenders for the "King of Knockback" title. I want to see Forcefields take it once and for all. Precision Knockback is the most underrated defense in the game. -
"I've got a dragon ball!"
Awesome as always. -
Quote:That's kind of a strange view on Villains, at least to me. If a Villain decides to throw in their lot with Vanguard, rather than acting alone against the local Rikti threat, you'd expect them to follow orders. Otherwise, they'd be thrown out of Vanguard pretty fast. That's just it, if a villain were going to fight a war they wouldn't be rescuing longbow or diplomats, they'd be sacrificing the longbow who were weak enough to be captured so that they'd get an open shot on a rikti leader and take him out. The series of arcs in RWZ should have been completely different for both sides, playing to their respective strengths. But that was back when the game was still with cryptic and they only had like 16 people working on it. Now they have enough employees that they don't need to "get more bang for their buck" and make content that can be done by both sides.
Praetoria is a great example of how they can do in depth story for both sides. I'm sure it took a ton of time to get all those arcs worked out and put together, but boy is it worth it.
But yeah, the RWZ arcs could have been more neutrally worded. It wouldn't have been too much of a stretch to make Sefu and Dietrich into elite Vanguard agents instead. Of course, for the mercenary minded villains, the RWZ is nothing but win. Standard pay, plus Vanguard benefits? For taking out things that were annoying you in the first place? That's a pretty nice deal. -
With the coming flyspeed increase with I18/GR, I suddenly find myself with a few spare slots to use. I've read recently that Force Bolt, if slotted for it, can reach well over 50 Mag knockback, which is enough to bounce even a few AVs.
Is this true? It's a party trick to be sure, but I'd love the ability to knock AVs down reliably. That and to punt Hellions out of visible range. FORE! -
Hmm, a Linux instance plus a Linux native Firefox installation? That should in theory get you a web browser from a US address. The sticking point here s probably if you're allowed to use the Amazon Web Services. It's astoundingly cheap, though.

"If"? All you need is the right drivers and a beefy enough graphics card and there's no "if" in this. Of course, this is completely unsupported and will likely take some computer magic to get to work, but if you really want CoH in stereoscopic 3D, it's by no means impossible. It's just an OpenGL output after all. Those can be intercepted.

Yay! Time to buy it again. That'll be the 4th time I'll buy the original trilogy. VHS classic, VHS Special Edition, and DVD version.
-
By the way, have you tried deleting the "coh.checksum" file? Some times that file goes bad and causes an infinite loop of fixing files.
Don't worry about backing it up, you'll get a new one as soon as you run the updater again. -
Oh, thought of another one:
Rest
- /em lotus (hovering)
- /em kneel -
Forcefields
- Deflection Shield: The ability to cast it left handed
- Insulation Shield: The ability to cast it left handed
(Because 14 right hand casts in a row gets a little dull.)
Medicine Pool
- Aid Other: The animation from Empathy/Heal Other
- Aid Self: The animation from Regen/Reconstruction
- Stimulant: The animation from Empathy/Clear Mind
- Resuscitate: The animation from Poison/Elixir of Life (though without the bubbles)
Electric Blasts
- The ability to use the Mu arcing lightning across the entire set
Brawl
- The ability to choose if I want to kick, even if my hands are free
Prestige Sprints
- Fold into Sprint as alternate animations -
Whoa, it's over an hour long?
Just watched part 1, when he says he's going to do it right, he sure knows how to do it right. Awesome so far.
EDIT: Okay, THAT is how you do an Animaniacs tribute. It may be over an hour long, but it's good all the way. It's actually a 90 minute interview with the writers and some of the voice talent from the show. -
We cannot have have a topic containing both acapella covers and Metallica without this Master of Puppets cover.

Hmm, the way I could see it work would be if you had a subscription to somewhere, but instead of just having a subscription to one MMO, you'd have a subscription to a "mother-MMO" so to speak.
You'd create a character there and then take it into one of many smaller worlds. Like perhaps you're in a fantasy mood, so your character puts on elf ears and joins the fantasy world for the night. Maybe you're in a sci-fi mood? Your character jumps into his pilot suit and you're off hunting space pirates in the space world. Then you'd in a superhero mood and your character puts on its superhero costume and flies off into the superhero world.
It'd be the same character, and the various worlds would play more or less similar, but you'd be free to jump from any world to any world while playing. It could allow the developers to create several smaller worlds with themes that might not support a full MMO, but are happy distractions when your character gets tired of the fantasy/sci-fi/superhero worlds. Maybe you just feel like going fishing, and hey, there's a world for that, too.
It's a monumental job to make that work, though. Imagine having to make sure that this works, and that nothing in one world will create a bug in another. Still, the concept could be awesome, if pulled off. I'm just glad I don't have to develop it.
Oh, and I'm glad video game theory isn't an instant delete in the new rules. We just have to be careful not to discuss actual games. -
I just started looking into what the market can really do, rather than just dumping my stuff and be happy when I sell a rare salvage for a few million. This guide is perfect for someone like me.
If I might add a rookie tip: Look at what you already have.
I was just about to vendor a level 40 generic Acc recipe a few days ago, when I took a look at the going price for the crafted IO. Instead, I decided to buy another Acc recipe and sell both crafted. I walked away with a cool 500,000inf profit. Not much, compared to some, but as a first look into the real market, it's an eye opener. I turned a more or less worthless recipe drop into half a million. What can I do with something that's actually worth something? That's something that's worth looking into, I'd say. -
Hmm, it depends. If your Win7 disk supports an update, then yes. You should be able to do it. Try running the disk in your WinXP installation. It should tell you if it can be used for an update.
Just remember two things when doing this:
1. While your programs will still be installed, they might not be compatible. You're skipping a generation of Windows, after all.
2. Backup first. Upgrades are handy, but you really don't want to see one that has failed. *shudder*
But once you've copied everything you want to backup over, try inserting the Win7 disk while WinXP is running.
Oh, and Windows will definitely ask for a re-activation with that kind of hardware change.
But yeah, as Memphis Bill said, a clean install is superior. You'll be happier with that in the long run. But, yes. You can most likely upgrade, but the question will be if you're gonna save any time doing so. I wouldn't bet on that. -
One tiny detail: When the game crashes, or there's just that much server lag, you get a "That account is already logged in!" warning when re-logging. It gets a little annoying some times. Maybe if the new login is from the same IP address, then terminate the current login, and just let me in? It happens when I press Log In the second time, why not the first?
