Yeah, his removal from the Maria Jenkins arc, and all the hype about how powerful he is really smells like a future Raid Boss. Him and Praetorian Hamidon. I bet we're going to fight both during the Incarnate arcs.
-
I did a slow clap when Nemesis revealed his plan in the final RWZ arc. "You may applaud my audacity." So I did. That was a pretty nice plan. Then I beat him up.
-
Quote:Would make for an awesome twist on future Praetorian missions, though. Imagine if the Praetorian arcs in PI recognised your character as an undercover Loyalist? That'd be a pretty nice detail.I think the devs would prefer you to turn against him - it makes it much easier for making new content
Like how the Dark Watcher comments on meeting you again if you do either the Responsibility or Warden arc followed by the other. I got a "Weren't you with the Loyalists last we spoke? Interesting..." from him.
But yeah, in the interest of making it simpler, it probably is better that all characters come out of Praetoria opposing Cole. Paragon City and the Rogue Isles just aren't set up to run the whole Praetorian thing. -
Quote:I agree, while Cole most certainly isn't a good guy, the Resistance is just playing into his hands acting the way they do. They're such easy propaganda bait. I mean, look at that billboard with the monstrous looking Resistance member in Imperial City. That's how the people are introduced to the Resistance, and while exaggerated, it's not completely wrong. There ARE monsters in the Resistance. So Cole does what every talented propagandist does and enhances the negatives of the opposition. You may have seen similar things happen in real life. That's my problem with the Resistance, they are doing it wrong. They are burning down the system and the people that are being controled by Cole, and doing nothing to defeat Cole himself. The best that they can hope for is what? To kill the city and it's people and since Cole is immortal, have him decide to leave? The Resistance are terrorists, plain and simple, they don't want a revolution, they just want an excuse to cause havok.
And frankly, when the opposition is bombing hospitals and poisoning police officers, you don't need to dig that far to find some awesome propaganda bait. It practically writes itself at this point. Add a mild mind altering drug to make people go "Eh, I suppose so..." at the propaganda, and the Resistance is already at a severe disadvantage in the PR war. And they need to win the PR war much, much more than the guns and bombs war.
A part of me wonders if Cole is keeping the Resistance around on purpose, they make such wonderful scapegoats, too. That and the "You don't want to be like THOSE guys, do you?" aspect of it. The Sonic Barriers are argued for with the Hamidon, the PPD and Seer Network are argued for with the "terrorist activity" from the Resistance.
An enemy without and an enemy within. A Tyrant ruling through fear and control couldn't ask for better. -
To elaborate, my keyboard has an Æ key, and that character gets automatically deleted from the name input if I try.

Hmm, how about packs based on enemy factions?
Longbow Pack
- Longbow pattern and parts for Tights
- Power: Nullifier Rifle
Freakshow Pack
- Freak parts! Excelsior pumps, metal arms, Tank torso.
- Power: Freakshow Revive
5th Column/Council Pack
- Vampyri parts
- Wolf parts
- Paramilitary parts
- Power: Warwolf Whistle
You get the idea. For those who want to play as if they're a member or ex-member of these groups. Fill in most wanted enemy group parts here. -

The slightly more straightforward version is that the Incarnate System is much, much bigger than we've imagined. We know I20 will have the first major part of the Incarnates, but even those who've been in the GR Beta have no idea just how vast this thing is going to be when done. All we know is a bunch of names and the concept of slotting abilities into these named slots. We've heard a few new concepts from the Devs like Level Shifts, and there's bound to be a lot more new and unique abilities along with this. Plus whatever content to match it.
Consider this: I19 gets us the Alpha slot and one Incarnate TF, plus the Fitness change and other little things. This is a "sneak peak" at the full system. Other Issues have had less content than this. I think I20 will be massive. Most likely the biggest non-expansion Issue we've seen so far. And it's mostly going to be Incarnate stuff. -
Franken... Castle? Um, what does that mean? Please don't say it's exactly what it sounds like, because that sounds really dumb. It's not the Punisher as a Frankenstein's Monster, is it?
Comic books these days are weird... -
Quote:It is comforting to know that whatever doom mankind reaches, it is most likely to one of our own design. Mad Science. Gotta love it.Well gee, Mr. Mad Scientist, do you really think so? "Beneficial and deleterious aspects," you say? I wonder what those could be. I'm drawing a blank on the beneficial. As to deleterious, how does SLAVING IN THE VENUSIAN DEUTERIUM MINES FOR OUR HEARTLESS, DECEPTIVE METAL OVERLORDS sound? Think that might be "deleterious"?
Science...it's all about coulda' not shoulda'.
Seriously, though, I can't think of why you want a deceptive robot, except for use in combat drones. Am I missing a possible use here? Well, it'd make a mean AI for video games, too, I suppose. -
Similar reason, yes. The Alpha and Omega auras are from GR Complete, and the Cyborg pack has a few as well.
-
It shouldn't have.
Seriously, if you're driving and a small animal suddenly rushes into the road in front of you at a distance where stopping in time is impossible, you HIT the animal rather than making an uncontrollable dodge. The guy in that PSA should have run over the dog and none of that would have happened.
Oh, and he shouldn't have gone too fast, but seriously, the dog should have died and the people survived if he'd done the "Animal on the road!" reaction right. -
I love taking my forcefielder on Malta missions. There's nothing better than see a PuG groan at the first sighting of a Malta Sapper, then watching all complaints about them vanish as soon as the first Sapper shot hits someone and drains about 1-2 End total. That and my bubbler can grant near-capped Defense to her teammates (44.5%) if they're in range of both Dispersion and Maneuvers. That little trick will never go out of style. Except with self-softcapped characters, but those are rare, and I can still provide near softcapping on the types they don't have.

Alternate title: "Where's Optimus Prime when we need him?"
Quote:Full ArticleScienceDaily (Sep. 10, 2010) A robot deceives an enemy soldier by creating a false trail and hiding so that it will not be caught. While this sounds like a scene from one of the Terminator movies, it's actually the scenario of an experiment conducted by researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology as part of what is believed to be the first detailed examination of robot deception.
While this most certainly is impressive to have robots that can decide whether lying will benefit them more than not, I can't help but think that giving robots this ability is an inherently bad idea. At least they didn't name it "Decepticon". It is pretty cool, though. -

I do, because I hate those ghosts.
It's useful if you're a hover user, as you're usually not in range to use Sands, but ghosts in general can fly. So something spectral floats into range and gets axed. Also, if you're a Dark or Lethal damage user already with enough melee AoE, you really want the Axe to take down those pesky ghosts that resist everything you have, except the Axe.
Now, I admit some of these are edge cases, but if you have the (melee) AoE covered and/or do a damage type that ghosts are strong against, the Axe is a fine choice. -
James Bond: Moonraker
The over the top sci-fi plot is a silly attempt to cash in on the popularity of Star Wars, the astronauts with lasers shootout is really ridiculous and overall it's a really weak James Bond movie, not to mention a bad movie in general. Oh, and in this movie, Jaws falls in love.
The story of the big brute henchman of the megalomaniac supervillain, falling in love with a common girl and in the end turns on the villain to protect the girlfriend. Now isn't that an interesting story? It's one that I don't think has ever been told before. It manages to turn Jaws into an actual likable character, with steel teeth, and that girlfriend of his was pretty cute. In the end, they even end up risking their lives to aid Bond. I could see this plot carry a full movie on its own. But no, it was a C-plot at best in the worst James Bond movie. A waste of a genuinely interesting story. -
For all the characters from Manga and Anime being pointed out, I think we're missing someone. Someone who's Mickey Mouse class on its own.
Pikachu
Now, granted, the electric mouse here DID appear first in a video game. As generic monster #25. But after being turned into an anime, a manga, another manga, several feature length movies, a toy, a plush toy, a Wolksvagen, a parade float, a bath towel, a bikini, and who knows what else, I think the little yellow thing qualifies.
I mean, if I write "Pi-pikachu! PikaCHU!" you all just heard Pikachu's voice say that. And half of you would read that as Pikachu attacking with electricity. I'll say this pokémon is iconic enough. -
Option 1, with one condition.
The new pieces are just as mix and match as the old ones. So Tanker top matches Tights which matches Strapless witch matches Skirts which matches Tee and so on.
If that's taken care of, then I won't miss the old ones. My Defender is at her.. 4th? texture for her skirt already, so a 5th wouldn't matter much, as long as it's flared and red. -
This, for the exact same reason. Too bad my Praetorian won't train 50 at Praetor Duncan, though.
-
For my Forcefielder, I think I have a plan:
- Detention Field
- Vengeance
- Recall Friend
All just "nice to have" powers. But when I already have two Leadership powers, why not Vengeance? -
Let's try...
dances with

wrestles

Heh, funny little Youtube game. -

Quote:There's also the "I support the Rebels, but man did the Empire get the coolest toys." faction. Seriously, they get the coolest looking spaceships, the moon sized battle station and they even have those neat walkers.Well, there seems to be a pretty big overlap between the "I wanted the Empire to win" types and the "I support Tyrant" types
The Empire was cool. Evil, but cool.
