Quote:Hmph....How do we know the party pack did lousy in sales?(I WILL be buying the newest booster)
Honestly, I'm surprised you did a all cape/aura booster after how the party pack worked out.
That is all.
I bought it, as did Mark, and every time I play I see quite a few players using it.
And I am very glad to get some new capes and auras...and at level 1!
Sigh...I do hope all the negativity I have been reading won't cause the Devs to say "Up yours" and stop creating these packs. I enjoy them.

Quote:Hey folks.
I'm mostly a tanker, but I've decided to make an energy melee character and, having tried and deleted two such tankers, have determined that only a brute can make it bearable.
So I'm sort of stumped on secondaries.
EA is out because it has no taunt aura and sucks in every way that it's possible for a powerset to suck.
WP is pretty much out because the AOE stun from Whirling Hands would kill my regen.
In fact, I'm basically down to /SR or /INV.
What do you folks think. Are there powersets that pair particularly well with EM?
Well Darn.
I have a Em/Willpower I am having a lot of fun with...and you say it is going to go all to pot when I get Whirling Hands?
That is very, very, very, disheartening.

OH MY GOSH...I want!!!!!!!
These are so beautiful.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Quote:Eiko-Chan, you will enjoy the Dance Pack. I am still having a good time with it. The emotes are quality work. They are very well done, and very, very, very entertaining.I'm planning on buying the dance pack when i19 hits. I think i19 is awesome enough to pay for it, so I'm going to pretend I'm paying for i19, and getting the emotes for free.
I only wish they had added some party clothes to the pack

Quote:Aegis,
Do you see that guy with the purple hair in your avatar? That's you.
Do you see that fist punching the guy with purple hair in your avatar? That is every other plant dom/troller hitting you for not taking seeds of confusion. It repeats itself ad nauseam for good reason.
Sincerely,
Plant Primaries
I laughed when I read this....and I agree
I have a Plant/Fire in Praetoria....oh me.
I had a mission in which I had to kill a metric ton of Destroyers, I think the number was 1000? They were weakened Destroyers, but still.... Seeds saved my tail. Without seeds, I would have either thrown up my hands in disgust, or, attempted the fight, and would have hit the debt cap for sures
Seeds FTW!

Quote:Yes. I was doing a mission with my level 12 Plant/Fire Loyalist. Someone was murdering Powers Division big boys, and I had my own Powers Division team to go find the culprit. I was in a mission with a metric ton of Syndicate. My Powers Team were wimps, and left me facing all these angry Syndicate. I confused Marisa Delany. Ran behind a corner and waited until my confuse died, and did this, always confusing Marisa, a couple of times until that huge mob was whittled down to a reasonable size then pounced.Exactly. The other thing is that Confused minions are extremely bad at hurting each other. They run around, switch targets constantly and generally don't do enough damage to make any real difference -- unless you let them go at it for a while. If you Confuse bosses and let them attack their minions, bosses will take out minions quite handily.
Yes, I lost a lot of XP....but I saved myself many, many, trips to the hospital, and also saved myself a ton of debt. In this case, XP loss was a price I happily paid.
And, Yes Rodion, I too noticed that confused mobs really do not want to kill their teamates, so I treat my AOE confuse as a semi hold. ..unless I have confused one bad guy and their are no other bad guys around, then it is a super hold

Quote:In specific:
Carnie stuff!
-Corsets
-Boots
-Top with the poofy sleeves
-Female shoe (moderately high-heeled mary janes w/button strap)
(with carnies, it's the harlequin patterns and textures which are really signature. A generalized version of any of the above would be wonderful)
Robes
-CoT
-Tsoo
(if full floor length robe is problematic, open-front robe - like a long coat with patterns and/or textures - would be just fine)
Dark Watcher trench coat (coat sans goofy lapel, possibly options other than leather?)
Roman sandals that go up the calf to the knee.
Sashes. (any!)
Hats/headpieces
-CoT
-Tsoo
In general:
I don't actually WANT any groups' signature pieces. I want pieces that allow flexibility in creating much more varied characters. Most responders here, and most people I know in the game, have been playing for years. Years! I, like almost everyone I know, am getting really stuck figuring out how to make a new toon look different from any one of a dozen I already have. Anything outside the bajillion spandex and armor options we now have I'd be truly grateful to have!
Thanks so much for this thread, as well as the others. So good to know someone out there is listening!
I agree with this post. If I were to write a list of wants, the very same things would be on it

I read this this morning.....I work in a college Town so I see people leave all the time, but, well, it is never easy to see loved ones who are like a part of your family go.
I can see laying off the temps, but a lead developer, especially one who has been there as long as Mr Bruce, and as talented as Mr Bruce...I can't see it.
Something happened.
(1) Either he demanded a huge payraise and said "give me the money or I walk"...not at all likely
Or
(2) He was headhunted and offered a splendid new job, but stayed to see GR launch,
Or
(3) NCSoft has a new project getting started, and, as someone said in another post, Mr Bruce is one of the first aboard.
Or
(4) He got burned out, yelled at Castle one too many times, and ragequit...not likely.
Or
(5) He is sick and his docs have told he will not be able to work for an extended amount of time and he is on a medical leave...oh God I hope not.
All speculations.
Whatever the truth is as as to why he set sail...I will miss him.
Good luck to you Chris Bruce.
Lisa-Trots sadly off to work. -
Quote:I am sorry I missed this. I would have been there in a heartbeat
I have 74 screenshots from tonight, in various poses and angles if anybody would like a copy of something.
Thank you everyone that showed up tonight for this. I hope BaB truly gets the message how much he is loved and will be missed.
And to all the people that shall not be named, who were invisible tonight. Thank you for coming.

Quote:I would have been interested, except I did not read the forums while this was going onMy proposal:
We roll lowbie toons at meet at Galaxy City as a way of discussing, honoring, and thanking (if they show up) the nine people that were recently laid off.
--PROPOSED Details:--
Justice Server
Galaxy City (By the Trainer)
7:15 PM (Pacific Time)
--Additions?--
What details could we bring to makes this event better?
--Intent--
This event is to honor and thank people that have worked to provide us with a product we enjoy so much, we pay money again and again just to be a part of it.
Who would be interested?
Is it possible to hold another, but with a planned start time so those of us who missed out can have another chance to honor BABS in company of fellow Heroes and the reformed shady folk?

Quote:They are probably waiting for everyone to show up to work before starting the game back up. This promises to be a busy day for the team.ok thxs jack, but it is worded quiete odd just follow me here.
[/I]
It only mentions Praetorian content up to 14, side switching doesn't have anything to do with praetoria so I think just wait and see if I can switch. I'm gonna buy GR for i19 but this might mean I just have to buy it alittle sooner if any toons get stranded or anything wierd like that.
And I figure, the people who don't belong in Praetoria will be deposited into Pocket D, much like they do when the Winter Event is over.
That said, I want to Playyyyyy.
10:33 Central here. -
9:49 Central here and I still cannot log in.
That is what? Almost four hours?
Sigh. Wish I had known.
I could have run to the store.
Oh well.

Quote:I too back you in spirit too, The _Britisher.So, as much as I back you in spirit, give up now. Save your energy for other things.
I am just glad, and thankful, that we can solo 90-95% of this game depending on AT.
My husband dragged me kickin' and screamin' into this game. If it were not the great soloability I would not have lasted as long as I have.
Hugs.

Quote:Good luckSo I'm writing a research paper for my English class on the differences between male and female gamers, and since CoX has such a high percentage of female players (myself included) I figured this would be a good place to gather some information. So, if you all could answer a few questions for me, that'd be great:
1. Are you male or female?
Female
2. What ATs do you mostly play, and for what reason(s)?
Scrappers because I know I can go 1-50 solo and I enjoy getting up close and personal so to speak. However, I have discovered Dominators and their wonderful sleep/holds, and now have a love/hate relationship going with a certain Elec/Ice Dom, who, at the rate she is going, may never get out of Praetoria, but I am having fun trying
3. Redside, blueside, purpleside, or any combination of the above?
Blueside FTW!
4. What are your favorite story arcs?
All of Croatoa's arcs and the Faultline ones.
5. What makes you like this game?
Well, being able to perform digital homicide is great stress relief. I am a clutz and get lost, so I solo and except for not leveling as fast as the teamers do, I do not feel like I am missing out on anything the teamers get..which I absolutely love. Also, I may not team, but I chat with people from all over the country. I have some wonderful people on my Global Friend's list
6. What other games do you play?
None. This one takes up my spare time
7. How long have you been playing?
Ummm..44 months.
8. How many alts do you have, what is the average level range, and how many are level 50?
I have a whole stable of scrappers, two Blasters, three Doms, and one Corr. I think I have four level 50s, all scraps.
9. Do you bother with softcaps, set bonuses, and all that numerical stuff? What difficulty settings to you normally use?
Softcaps....I try. My /SR scrappers reach softcap easily, the others....no. I do go for set bonuses. I like accuracy, endurance, and recharge bonuses the best. Oh, and while I am the subject of set bonuses, let me say that my Resistance Scraps do not have Weave and they are tough stuffI am not a numbers person at all...Difficulty settings? Normally default until I get some slotting going, then I creep my way upwards. Each toon is a different case.
I'm not asking for your opinions on the differences, if you believe they exist, just your own personal preferences. Once you tell me about you, I'll do all the data analysis... I'm not asking you guys to do my homework for me, I'm only looking for data to write about. Thanks! -
Quote:I really like that ideaI hear you. To me they are more like "skins".
I've always been of the opinion that by defeating enemies they should have a chance to "drop" costume pieces unique to that group. Like I smacked that Rikti so hard his gloves came off type of thing.

Grin. I have a friend who has a Mind/Energy, and yesterday I made one....WOW.
In Praetoria, I Forgot what the mission is called, but very early on there is a mission where you rescue three PPD...I think it is the mission before the one where you pick roses for Cleo.
This Mind/Energy was the only toon that I have ran that mission with, who has not only saved all three PPD, but all three PPD also had green health bars at the end of the mission...and no they did not hide on the stairs, they were active participants
My scrappers in contrast....I won't go there
Lisa. -
Well, I bought the Emote Pack, and I must say I am having a ton of fun with it...however...I was watching my Kilted Loyalist go through the dances, and a thought came to me.
These dances are sexy fun.
Parents may not want their younglings to have access to sexy dances, and and therefore, as a measure of control, the Devs made them into a pack where you have to pay to get them...most kids not having their own credit/debit cards, and made it at a price point where people had to stop and think, ala parents asking questions instead of just handing the kid their credit card, and yet not break the bank..a second layer of control.
If this was the case, I wish the Devs had said so.
The emotes are nice. They cycle so they don't do one dance and stop.
I can see myself using these a lot
Lisa. -
Quote:Sigh. I did my homework, I was not going to buy it...but I do do emotes, and I still feel that there is a purpose behind the Devs suddenly coming out of left field and offering us a turkey booster pack when always before they have been simply splendid.Nope, decided not to do the whole explaination of what road I see this company taking. I've done it enough times already and have decided not to correct people who are not doing their homework anymore. They just are not worth the energy.
And, that Pop Dance video I saw sold me.
Lisa-Yes, I know, I am not worth the energy -
Quote:And I think you are probably 100% correct.time.
im pretty sure for every 5 people who scoffed at this, there were 6 who bought it.
I scoffed, I saw the video someone posted of his toon doing the pop dance, and now I might buy.
Chris Justice, my Kilt-wearing Fire/Energy Brute would have a ball with that Pop Dance...and my credit card is right here, and I am off today so I will not be buying lunch...hmmmm
Lisa. -
Quote:Ohhhh...why did you have to post that?????? It is one thing to say I will not buy an overpriced Emote pack....but seeing your toon with it....seeing the goods up close and personal....ohhhhhhhhhhh...must rethink a bit....and now for something a little different!
Positive Feedback!
These emotes are fantastic, I've been waiting 5 years for /e airguitar to be added. Thank you! Oh, and /e popdance is worth $8 by itself.
All I gotta say is, the pack is targeted at a specific group of people.. not everyone will buy it, and I'm ok with that. If you don't want it, don't buy it.. and leave it at that.
Lisa-whose thought processes right now much resemble Tunnel Rat's thinking. -
I guess they made enough money off of the Emote Pack to upgrade Freedom
I was on Freedom the other day and it was mapserving like crazy. Some wag posted in Broadcast that we need to buy the Emote Pack so they can upgrade Freedom to a Pentium.
Hmmmm....now I am wondering.....
Lisa-Wants to go to Praetoria and level her Kin/Elec scrap and Fire/Energy Brute -

Lisa bounces back into thread.
know something guys..maybe our next Booster Pack will contain all the costumes to match the emotes
I mean, so far all the Boosters have been superb, they know what we like...why would they suddenly seemingly give us an outright turkey of a booster????
Maybe there is more to this than we can see right now...mayhaps there is more to that Shadowy power too
I choose to be positive now. No more being negative, and no more yelling at PvPers on the forums
Lisa -
Sad Panda here.
I have all the booster packs, and bought all the first day they came out..this one I am not getting.
Had there been a costume piece, even another tail, I would have been first in line.
But there wasn't, and so not only was I not first in line today, I won't be in line at all
Lisa. -
Quote:Sigh. There is something in the air I think.Dude, your entire reply is irrelevant. Did you take some hate-pills this morning or something?
A "cabal"? Since when is a group of players (even a hypothetical group) a "cabal"?
This is really making me laugh. You're totally going out of your way to make some huge deal out of this. I guess if it bothers you that much that someone out there is doing something with some common salvage that you'd bust my hump just for noticing it, well... yeah, I think you need to find yourself a better hobby then. Sakes.
Seriously, you've totally gone off the deep end. You should chill the frak out. God forbid I come in here and ask a question, for crying out loud.
Last night, I yelled at a PvPer on the forums.....not a thing I normally do.
Hugs to all.
Lisa.
