  1. Hello everyone.
I hate to bother you all with what might be a stupid question, but, I am very very curious about the answer.

I have gotten serious about Elec/doms and have made a couple to try and find one which works for me.

I have made Elec/Ice, Elec/Psi, and Elec/Earth. The Ice is the only one I am on the fence about....for a solo player it is a lot of fun but feels weak damage wise and I guess that is because Ice specializes in slows and -recharge.

A good global friend of mine who has long wanted me to try something besides scrappers and brutes suggested I make a Elec/Elec Dom...which I did this morning.

I was clicking on my vet powers when I saw something which made me rub my eyes, and look twice at the description for Sands Of Mu.

    Effects Melee (Cone)
High Damage over time (50% Smashing/50% Negative)
    Foe -Accuracy

    DoT???

It was my understanding that DoT is bad, bad, bad, for /Elec.

I love me some Sands of MU, but is it not feasible for /Elec?

It is too late for my Ice, Psi, and Earth as I am not about to reroll them, but it is not too late for my Elec/Elec..should I go Ghost Slayers, or is the High DoT not a big deal on this one power?

I love the ability to keep the bad guys asleep and don't want to take a power that might foil that goal.

Another question, I have heard Thorny Assault should not be paired with Elec/ Could someone tell me why? My Spines/Elec scrap is my fav scrapper and I would like to give her a sister

Whoops, have to drag my boots to work...

    Thanks in advance

    Lisa.

This. Lately, I have noticed that running away is the new black among the bad guys. TP Foe fixes their hash...yet another reason to grab it on my Kin/Fire.

Lisa-who remembers reading that some of the powers we don't normally use are going to be useful.

Or if I need to build up domination before a big battle, I can tp some minion over to me and keep using confuse/drain psych/low damage attacks until it's ready.

But it would be nice if we could in fact enhance the magnitude so we could teleport higher level foes. Perhaps a new teleport-magnitude enhancer could also function on regular teleport powers as a means of TPing while immobilized. Or the ability could just added to the range or interupt or even accuracy enhancers when put on TP Foe.

I never thought of dragging a confused Healer/Buffer around with me...wow. Good one..

I am so glad I found this thread

That said, I respeced out of it about 4 years ago, and haven't really missed it.
Sappers...yessss...my scraps don't have a hold, but they do have Air Sup...a sapper on his back can't sap...I am growing a Kin/Fire scrapper I am happy with, and I am now wondering if I can free up a power choice for this..might make life easier for this squishy scrap...who has promise of being a squishy powerhouse..ahh balance, got to love it.

Sappers, Knives, goodness only knows what else..note to self...try it.

    Thanks SinisterDirge

If you're going to commit to using it, it needs at least one additional slot. 2accIO minimum to keep the "miss frustration level" down.
    Truth, this.

Thanks for reassuring me that my feel for the two accuracies was spot on

    Lisa.
  6. I love Teleport Foe on my squishies.

I peek around a corner, target a bad guy, then duck back and bring him to me. As soon as he is visible to me, I pop a hold on him, and, can usually arrest him by the time his friends can come pounding around the corner....which is ok as they are usually in groups of three and all my squishies can handle two at one time.

Yes, high ranking mobs are hard to impossible to transport, so I don't even try. I teleport his friends to me, leaving him without help when I turn my attentions to him.

And, grin, sometimes I will see a mob standing on top of a Container in a warehouse. Instead of going up to him, I bring him down to me...lazy I know

Teleport Foe is good when you are trying to catch Sorcerers for the badge. Sneak up on one, bring him to you, encase him your single target hold..Booya.

My scrappers and brutes don't have the power because they are badass and can handle being pounded on..but everytime I fight Knives Of Artemis...I find myself wondering if Transport Foe would negate the Caltropes...ala, I could bring the gals to me and bash them

Anyways, Yes we could do without Teleport Foe, but now that I know how to use it, you will have to pry the power out of my cold dead paws.

Oh, and I have found that for me at least, the power needs to be slotted with two accuracies..one just does not cut the mustard. Two is good

    Lisa.
  7. One I can solo...that's all.

    Best power ever!

Hmm..My fav power on all ATs is Air Sup.

On just Scraps and Brutes it is Fire Sword Circle

On my Doms and squishy toons my fav power is Transport Foe.

    Lisa.
  9. Hugs to you Steelclaw...instead of steel, you have a claw of gold.

Hmm..I wonder..if the facebook games are making contributions to the relief efforts maybe we could too.

Instead of radishes, sweet potatoes, and/or cows maybe our Devs could whomp us up something similar...a badge, or a special T-shirt for our toons, and the money raised will go to relief efforts.

    Lisa.
  10. I would say/elec Scrappers and Brutes will do the job nicely.

I took a Claws/Elec Brute 1-20 though the Loyalist Storylines with absolutely no problems.

I am currently running both Resistance and Loyalist missions--my XP has been turned off more than it has been on--with a fickle, troublemaking, turncoat of an Kin/Elec scrapper, and as with the Brute, I am having no problems.

    Good luck

    Lisa.

The anticipation of getting a new book was enough to make the absolute pain of getting a **gasp** shot bearable.

The Devs have been wonderful about making it up to us when negative things happen..

Maybe the affected EU players could get a gold title above their heads stating something like "EU Global List Merge survivor."

And...I welcome all of you EU players, I feel lousy about all this anxiety some of you are experiencing...if I could help in anyway I could, but not being a dev or something like that I can't.

But I can give you all big welcoming hugs, and tell you all that it has to rain to grow beautiful flowers.

I envy your situation if THIS is something worth complaining about.
I too would happily change my Global name if there is was a EU player who had the same Global name as I and was having kitten fits over the idea of losing it.

Actually, there is time to do this...maybe there is a way for the EU players to find out if there is a NA version of their Global, and contact that player to see if anything can be done.

Most people here in the game are wonderfully understanding and kind.

    Just an idea.

I find it offensive that players that prefer to play solo are automatically considered "casual"

There need to be difficult solo trials that allow players that sometimes just want to play and not to socialize to receive similar benefits to groupies. And Issue 20 is looking really bad for soloists.

    Hi Beelzy

I felt the same way you do..until I read the below...and until the meaning of the below actually sunk in...reading and truly understanding are two different things for me it seems

    About That Accessibility Thing
For our more casual players, we have added an option for you to continue to build your way up the Incarnate Tree by collecting Incarnate Shards without doing any Incarnate Trials--you will even get Incarnate Shards when you are exemplared down. It will take longer than it will take by participating in Incarnate Trials, and you’ll miss out on some epic storylines, but you will be able to claim your seat at the Incarnate table nevertheless.

Now my day feels like it will be full of rainbows. That is all I wanted and hoped for. I know it will not be as fast, and I will miss all the excitement of the Taskforces..but..I find I can stir up my own excitement by rocking the difficulty levels and power choices..and I can always peer over Mark's shoulder and live it through him

Dang it all, I need to get over my phobia about teaming. I am not the player I was when I first started. Granted I crash into walls, but I do know how to read and follow a map now, and if it one of those crazy winding maps I am not at all shy about yelling "I'm Lost."

I don't type fast, but while fighting I really shouldn't be sending chat, and if I let folks know in advance that I am a slow typer I won't be seen as snobby and standoffish.

Hmm.because I often smack into walls, I never have sprint, or the various runs, on in a mission unless It is a straight shot to where I am going, and I know I have time to turn it off before fighting. This is where my getting lost comes into play because EVERYONE has sprint on in missions.

Hmmm....I think, I think, I am ...afraid to fail again...No, I am afraid to fail in front of others. In order to learn new things, you have to accept that failing is part of it...which I am ok with when it is just me, but failing in front of others is....shudder.

I need me some of that Tiger's Blood

    Lisa.
  14. Well, when I play my lowbies, no. But when I play my 50s...I do.

Used to be a 50 was a 50. Whether you soloed your way to 50, or teamed your way to 50, A 50 was a 50.

Now however, there are +1s, and such running about.

Getting a + 1 on a solo character, as things stand now, is almost impossible, mind you I said almost impossible, and so, a plain 50 without a number attached is deemed to be an inferior 50

Sigh. So all my 50s, all very much played to get to 50, are now no good and inferior, and, as a result, of course I am feeling peer pressure in a bad way... I feel that all the cool kids will see one of my 50s zooming about and they will snicker "Look at her, she isn't even a +1, she isn't worthy to even lick our combat boots"

Oh well...such is life. I shall get over it

On a happy note, Mark is enjoying the race for shards and fav toon is level shifted

    Lisa.
  15. I came here looking for the answer to this too. My Claws/Elec Brute dinged 20 in Praetoria and I was in the enhancement management screen looking at how I had slotted my powers, when I saw the words :Particle Burst Pet" Below Tough. Just the text, nothing to explain what it is.

Anyone know? Is this something terrific for issue 20?

Grin. If so, Issue 20 might have something for me in it, and that would make me sooo happy

    Lisa.

On the other hand, the game does need to evolve and expand if it's to remain successful. This upcoming content caters to a new set of interests. Nothing wrong with that. It's good to have something for everyone. It's good for the franchise.

But what I really want to know is: is this going to be the primary design philosophy going forward? Has the focus on casual play just been put on hold temporarily while this system is rolled out, or has it been pushed aside indefinitely?

A straight answer from PS on this would be nice, but I kinda doubt we'll see one. So I've taken a 'wait and see' stance for now.

Ok, I second this post..before I deleted it, I wrote something similar..

    Lisa-Gloomy
  17. You are not alone.
I wrote a beautiful post, then deleted it because my feelings about this are on record..and Sir Darcy the Teaming God will flame me for feeling the way I feel, so it was not worth posting.

    Lisa.
  18. I, as probably the biggest soloer in the game, clap my hands real loud, stomp my huge feets, and whistle....I love this idea.

Thank and Bless you Geko for caring enough to come up with an idea that just might work

Now, if only the powers that be see this.....

Lisa-Closes her eyes, and prays real hard.
  19. I have been using the NCsoft Launcher for over a year, maybe even two. At the time Mark was determined to install the Test Server, and came across the launcher in his efforts. He liked it so much, he installed it on my computer.

I have never had a problem with it.

    Lisa.
  20. I have a level 50 Spines/Electric whom I absolutely love.

I am not a numbers person so I can't give you numbers, but you will never be afraid to fight Rikti, Carnies, or Sappers

The self heal is good, plus you get a simply spendid endurance sucker upper..and then you have Lightning Field

I enjoy the Elec secondary so much I made a Claws/Elec Brute....Carnies are going to run from me shrieking like little girls

So I should be good when accessing it from at least one computer. Still have to try one other Computer to see if I have to go through security hoops on it.

    Thank you for the time...
Shudder, I am glad I am not the only one who had troubles. Mark set up my account for me all those years ago, as he was insistant I play and I didn't want to.

I knew the answer to the questions it asked me, but it was not accepting my answer to be correct..WTF??? I have known my dad's middle name all my life... after begging Mark to tell me how he spelled the name, and hearing that he forgot...I had an idea...was it case sensitive??? Holding my breath, I typed in the name in a manner alien to me and Bingo! I was in!

    Whew. Just Whew.

Had Mark typed in a false answer and forgot..I would be totally locked out..so on one hand I can see the wisdom of false answers, and on the other hand, you have to stop and think..would I remember the correct false answer four years from now...and if I was smart and wrote it down, would I be able to find where I wrote down four years from now?

Hackers are why we can't have nice things

There is not a thing in issue 20 for solo players...I don't think...let me go over the list, BAF, Lambada Center, New Taskforces, New group play features, Respec Badges..yup, all take a team to participate in

However, they did add some more black helicoptors redside, and I do play redside as well as Blue and Gold side..so there will be one improvement for me in issue 20....sigh.

Lisa-walks out of thread, head down, and feeling sad.

    Oh yes, Please this.

Beast run is a lot of fun to fight with while on. That little animation it does, after a jump and when standing still, makes me thing my toon is quivering with excitement and is looking about for her next victim to smack down.

But reading around the Brute Forums, there's no guide for it on the guides section and I'm reading from people that it's the dual pistols version of brutes, meaning, it's the weakest of the power sets? Or did they do some updates on Kinetic Melee that made it good again?

    Thank you again in advance.
I think, Kinetic Melee works best on Scrappers...I remember reading something about Brutes not critting???? Do a forum/Google search for it..something should come up.

Kin/Fire Scrappers are pretty awesome though. If you want to go the Kin/Fire route roll up a scrappy Scrapper

    Lisa.
  25. etc.

I'd also recommend that you avoid Battle Axe (War Mace is just plain better), Electrical Melee (NOT for soloing). [/QUOTE]

Lisa sits straight up in her chair, puts her cup of coffee down, and blinks.....Electrical Melee not for soloing....Exxar, is this why out of all the Scrapper and Brute primaries I like Elec Melee the least???

    Whew.

I thought there was something very wrong with me because I dislike my Elec/Shield scrap

However..my fav secondary for soloing is not on your list.../elec..however, for me at least, it does take about 15 levels to find it's sealegs so I guess that is why it is not on your list
