In "Operative Kirkland", they mean "discreetly", but they say "discretely".

Best wishes in your new endeavor!
Can I get the beta? -
Strength in Numbers is a supergroup for mathematically-oriented characters. For example, my character 3.14159265 (also known as pi), who is a mind controller/force field controller: all circular powers.
If you have a math or number type character and are looking for a home, contact 3.14158265 or @wrayth.
Where else would we be but on Infinity? -
how's this? it's derivative, and deficient in significant new content, but perhaps that serves as a mischievous commentary on the entire genre, eliciting reactions of comfort and -- dare i say it -- love

I sometimes accidentally click Rest, then turn it off again immediately. I notice that when I do that 1) Rest does not need to be recharged and 2) it heals me a little bit for the time that it's on.
Does anyone know how long you can have Rest on for before it needs to be recharged?
I'm imagining a strategy where you could click Rest, count 1-2 or something, then click it off again and it would not need to be recharged. Then you could do it again. That way, you could get healed, but still have Rest around if you really needed it.
Anybody know? -
Excellent guide for my new Mind Controller!
-
Great post, and vital for Mind Control Controllers to be aware of.

CoH is an awesome game. I wish I had more time to play. The graphics are amazing. The villains are challenging. GMs are responsive and helpful. And all the other players make it more fun and involving.

Myrandor is up to level 11 on Triumph. Some of the choices of the dice are embarrassing. Flurry, for heaven's sake. And I still don't have Ice Armor.
But, at least I have a LOT of attacks to compensate for my non-tanking tanker. And I'm getting pretty good at using Taunt to pull.
Oh, well. I'll bet "real" superheroes get power envy sometimes, too. -
I've actually started doing this. I ended up with a Technology Tanker, Ice?Axe, none of which I'd ever played before. (I did go through about 10 random costumes before accepting one: after all, I have to look at this guy all the time!)
I"m up to level 5, and it's fun playing a character I just "was", no choice involved
What's going to be interesting is when pool powers appear. I think that choosing pool powers at random is going to make a lot of teammates look at me saying, "Huh?!"
But great concept! -
I think this is a very clever way of exercising our imagination. Left to myself, there are some archetypes/origins/powersets/powers I would never choose. This gives me a way to experience something I ordinarily never would.
I would vote for going totally random with everything but name and costume.
I'd also like to point out that MOST superheroes do not get to choose their own powers. They are born with them, or receive them unwillingly, and must learn to deal with that. Your method lets us experience exactly what real superheroes would! -
Wow! Excellent Guide! I especially appreciate the distinction between Base Accuracy and Base ToHit.
One nit: the "0.75 * 0.60 " example near the beginning should be "0.75 + 0.60 ". -
This really makes me rethink my racheting Plenum of Rectitude, especially given how expensive the Heliotrope Veracity assets are. I may just option Spice Miner the next time I metamorphose.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! -
Man, I knew that extra Protrusion insp was too good to be true!
Well, I better reflag my protocols before taking THAT tangent again. -

Did you have Squisha on your team earlier that night?

It's funny you should mention that. We didn't have a Squisha, but a Turnbody joined the team briefly, then quit just before this mission.
Hmmm. -
So, I was part of a pickup team the other night, fighting Frozen Chrysalis in a door mish over in Devon Downs. Mainly the Wingwalker minions, with a few of those nasty Umbrial lieutenants, but no sign of the Crushed Tarsis bosses.
I was playing my level 12 Spotter, with both Sever and Mandated Insignia fully slotted for Transience, and a full tray of Cognizance and Protrusion insps.
We also had a level 11 Cracker (Invention/Mandibles), a level 13 Soma (Density/Polarity), and another Spotter, but level 11 Adhesion/Tension. Nice rounded team, right?
We clear out a room on the third balcony, go up the last ladder, and there's a Mancusan Dentrid, bristling with shiv-shooters, and we're like Huh? The Soma went down after one swipe. I laid down Submersion to buy us some time, but the Cracker and the other Spotter hardly had time to get in one hit before they got wiped too. I headed for the ladder, but face-planted before I took two steps.
So, is this normal? Do you usually see Mancusans on this mission? Is there some connection between the Frozen Chrysalis and these guys? Or was it just some random event?
Just curious. -
Thanks for the great guide! My main is only 36, so at least 9 levels til he can go to raids, but nice knowing I have a leg up on the other future raiders.
Also, bump. -
Real link. But not real Bo Bindel. Me hope.
Hope not real Bo Bindel
