Quote:Holding the right mouse button down is what activates the mouselook. I believe there are ways to toggle mouselook on and off without holding it down, but that would annoy me as I move my cursor around the screen. lolYeah, I change TAB too. Out of curiosity... is the mouse look on movement, or if you click a button and move? I'm assuming the latter?
Clicking both mouse buttons is the same as Forward (I disabled the autorun), and since I have a jump key on my mouse as well, it leaves my left hand completely free to press power binds on the keyboard if I wanted to... or to chat with the team while traveling through a zone... if you can type decently with one hand. Then again, I can't type with two, but people still understand me. lol
I still use a few of the numbers for some common powers too, but I click on the others to use them.
I like to actually use my UI. I like to mouse hover (I reduced tooltip delay to make this faster) over the target window to see exact HP remaining on a target sometimes, and I use the team window to select teammates... among other things. -
Quote:I still use a few of the numbers for some common powers too, but I click on the others to use them. How do you activate powers? With the left?
I can understand the response time, but I never liked the old shooters with mouse look.I have Q and E bound to look up and down.
TAB I changed to TargetNear
Q is my TargetNext
E is Follow
I have a bunch of other complex binds set up, but I wont get into that here. lol -
I use the right mouse button to steer/move my camera. It has much faster response and better accuracy than using the arrows would, plus allows me to look up or down quickly as well. It's especially usefully for those tunnel maps where the path actually goes uphill and there are foes on it that you wouldn't have seen if your camera was still level.
I use WASD for forward, back, and sidestepping. Spacebar is jump, and X is down (while flying).
I have 2 thumb buttons on my mouse. I use one to toggle Ninja run on/off, the other is Jump (same as spacebar) -
If there is a hole, it doesn't necessarily have to be near the hero base. Somebody could go through a hole near the Villain base (for example) and simply fly under the map to the hero base... but if you were getting killed on the bridge, that's not underground and it's not likely somebody could get inside such a small object. They might have been teleporting you to that location and flying high above you.
If you were referring to under the bridge.. then maybe.. I'm pretty good at finding holes and relog glitches, so I'll go in and take a look at what I can see. Was there any indication of where the power animations were coming from? Could they have been inside a nearby building as well? -
So many quotes are not necessary, and i'm not sure how it reacts to the quotes being around the cce command by itself..
The command should simply be: cce 2 ccevillaugh.
About the costume slot numbers, they are numbered in the order that you get them. It doesn't matter what task you do to unlock the slot. 0-4 are slots 1-5, and VEATs can even use 5 in the command to use a hidden uneditale 6th slot. -
Quote:No, only one of them heals. Unfortunately, it's always the last one to go down.. unless you hide the others from LoS when Rom Rezzes. You know, I haven't actually tried using it against the nictus healers. Aren't there three of them healing?
On a side note, there are a few tricks to pulling Rom away form his pets without them following, which make them a non-issue for some people anyway. -
Quote:My guess would be that FSAA is "antiAliasing", but I can't guarantee that it's value will be identical to what you see in game. For example, I switched to an ATI card recently and FSAA doesn't work well with the Occlusion, so I keep it off, but the registry shows a value of "1" when I would have assumed it to be 0.I'm not really sure which registry key it is, unfortunately. Most of them are fairly obvious from the names, but I could only guess at which one controls FSAA without doing some experimentation (I don't see the values documented on ParagonWiki, unfortunately).
-
Initially switching to Ultra mode did indeed automatically switch FSAA to Off.
The graphics settings are stored in the registry*. Yes, you can copy it from live to test if you really know what you are doing. You can export the Live options to a file, then edit the path in the file to match Test. You'll also have to edit or delete the line that has the game version and installation directory in it so it wont conflict with the server. Then import the file again. Or you can just go to the correct Test directory to begin with and manually edit that one line** for the option you want.
* I am not responsible for what you do to your registry.
** Sometimes the value the game is looking for isn't what you think it will be.
There is/was also a program called TweakCoH that edits the registry for you. I'm not sure if it was ever updated for Ultra Mode's new registry setup, but since FSAA isn't a new option, that might still work. -
I'm in the "the floating light textures were there forever" crowd. I don't know what the second picture is either.

What resolution and general window scaling do you use?

Quote:Yeah, I figured the updater might be the only one. Good to know. I had remembered seeing something about eucoh on another thread before, so I did a quick forum search for confirmation.. then again.. I'm only taking his word for it that it worked for him, since I don't have an EU account to test these things with. hahaCityOfHeroes.exe is the same for NA and EU. Only the updater adds eu. The command is still "-project coh".
Edit:
I did some more searching, and it seems like eucoh is still the advertised command on the foreign language boards.
On a side note, if you are using CityofVillains.exe, you might have to use -project cov (not coh) or else you risk a client crash. -
Quote:THIS. I usually use the Tab4 window at the top, and keep it closed so there shouldn't be any worry of accidents. All my characters have a chat tab named SPARE which displays all the global channels I'm on. If I accidentally delete my GLOBAL tab, I won't be dropped from the channels since they still appear on another tab.
Quote:Type /chatsave on a character where you have the chat channels set up the way you like them. Then type /chatload when there's a drop. Everything should pop back up to normal, if the global chat server is live.
As mentioned, the global server going offline shouldn't actually remove you from any channels. At least I've never had it happen even though I've been online heal-or-damage-farming for hours night after night when the global server went down at least once during that time. I am a member of several channels and OP a couple of them. You should still be part of that channel when it comes back online. Sometimes you might have to re-log or re-add the channels to your tabs to see them though. /chatload usually works just fine for me though. -
Quote:On a side note, you do get the full code e-mailed to you after it's applied... but by then it doesn't really do much good. hahaIIRC, after you've bought the code, you're asked which account you would like to apply it to. At no point do you actually get to see the full code, as it's completely non-transferable (i.e. can't gift it :sad
.
And DEFINITELY make sure your plaync account's email is current, otherwise Bad Things⢠could happen. -
I think it was called something like Jump Jet Prestige power for a couple months at most, but has been the Jump pack for well over 3 years now.
-
I used this link once before, but I forget why. I figured I would provide it again in case it is useful to anybody. lol
OpenGL Extensions Viewer -
You must have looked a long time ago.
Jump Pack, available when purchasing the Good Versus Evil Edition or associated goodie pack, grants 30 seconds of unlimited vertical movement.
Zero-G Pack, a reward from Safeguard and Mayhem missions, grants Super Jump for two hours of use.
While the Zero-G Pack might have originally been named "Jump Pack", they are not one in the same and are actually quite different, making them each act differently with Ninja Run. -

Ninja Run will not stack with:
Combat Jumping
Super Jumping
Super Speed
Zero-G Pack
Maybe more.. but Swift, Hurdle and the various Sprints work well with Ninja Run. Flight, the Jump Pack and the various Jetpack powers do not detoggle Ninja Run either. -
IIRC, they are called tray#. I'm not logged in, so I cannot verify.
The standard set of 3 trays counts as 1 window, called tray or tray1. Following trays are tray2, tray3, tray4, etc.. -
I don't think it failing is really proof of anything. I've never been able to complete a tracert to any of CoH's servers, yet I rarely have issues connecting or staying connected.
