    What a silly question.
Originally, I was going to keep a Hero on Heroside, and a Villain on Villainside, and only switch sides with my main toon... but it was too tempting to switch with the others as well, so now I ended up getting everything on them too and I still have the 3 badge characters.

Because they are already almost capped, it makes me want to keep getting new ones on all 3, but I can't see myself adding another one to the list any time soon, especially with all the regular work that I still need to do on some other toons. lol

I agree it's very grinding. So far, Master-Blade earned 50/50, Teal Tabby is at 38/50, and Robin Rogue has barely run them, sitting around 5-10 runs until I can finish Tabby's.

The way I see it, I'll focus on MB first, and depending on what else I have going on, or how long it ends up being between new badges, I'll grab what I can on the other two whenever there is time. As it stands, I still never finished the last Invention badges on either of them, and not sure I will ever bother, but I don't mind being a handful behind on them, especially for the really grindy ones.

    TL;DR
I will still have 3 badge characters, but 2 of them I consider to be "back-burner" and I'll get to them when I feel up to it or have the chance.

That's what I thought too. I have an Invul Tanker that has the Proc in her Aura and I love it, but that's only because it's grandfathered in. If I ever respec that build, I wont be able to keep it.

Maybe the OP is in a similar situation?

And let's look on the bright side, at least they didn't decide to use sounds for hostage rescues...
This like sound\Ogg\NPCs\FemScream5.ogg would drive me nuts. haha

Are you alt-tabbing out of the program while zoning, or doing any other activity that involves the alt, control, or the shift keys? Sometimes when you Alt-tab out of the game, the game still thinks you are holding alt when you click back to it. That can result in many "Alt+" functions happening, like the powertray expanding, alternate power trays activating with 1,2,3.. instead of the primary tray, etc.

Tapping such keys again should reset their "state" and the game will react normally again.

Some auto powers do not work while you have a non-combative NPC targeted, like a Wentworth Employee. If this is not what you are experiencing, then I'm unsure why else an auto-power would not function...

Unless you mean that actually creating another auto-power does not work, then that's explained by the game thinking you are pressing alt+control+rButton instead of just control+rButton. Again, tapping the alt key again should reset it so that other commands react normally.

And ROFL at your file. You are right that's quite annoying on a loop, but sure is noticeable.
  7. No I don't, but you could always just replace it with one of the other sounds or with a siren or whatever else you wanted.

But keep in mind that the sound the objective makes is also used in a couple other areas of the game as well, so depending on what you use, it might fool you or get annoying.

Personally, if it gets to the point where I really can't find the objective, I just turn up the volume on my system myself. Having a keyboard with volume controls on it helps make it quick and easy. lol

  10. If you are looking for locations of specific groups for defeat badge/gladiator purposes, you can also just look at the page for the specific badge you are trying to earn.

For example, visiting ParagonWiki: Tank Buster Badge will give you a large table telling you what zones/neighborhoods they can be found in, as well as a few popular story arcs they can be found in as well.

Granted, some mission lists aren't really complete, but it's usually because there are already so many easy locations to find them that trying to list every specific mission or arc would just be overkill (for badge purposes).

Somebody could do a forum search and find this thread later (when Tin Mage isn't the WST anymore). They might be looking for an actual MoTin Guide (instead of a "Midnight Dodger.." guide) and wonder why they didn't get MoTin after following the directions, so I thought it was important to point out.
  12. You are not alone. Other people have reported similar feelings about that in the past. I think there might be one or two more contacts that never give you enough missions to fill the bar, but I couldn't tell you who they are. I think they recently revamped the system to try to give us the "Call" button sooner, but I don't think they did anything about the bar itself.

But there has to be a difference between what is expected, believed, or said, and what is true in reality. Without that difference, it's not irony. In this case, what we know to be true (that trying to /bug the /bug system being bugged probably won't work) is in line with reality (that it really probably won't work).
Well when you word it like that, you do have a point so let's try to look at it from yet another point of view.

We (as players) actually have no way of knowing if /bug is broken. It's one of the few features that we wouldn't really be able to see the results of to notice it isn't working. We just assume it works and believe if we find an issue in the game that we can report it using that system and somebody will get it.

I guess the irony here could be that in a system designed to let the players report an issue to the Devs, a Dev had to report it to the players.

Ok.. maybe that really is stretching. lol

I don't believe that the /bug system is any less susceptible to having coding errors in it than any other piece of code, and I don't expect the /bug system to prevent bugs. With no incongruity between belief or expectation and reality, I would be inclined to consider the /bug system being bugged as merely unfortunate, not irony.
I think where the irony comes from in this situation is that we would expect to be able to /bug the issue, but the reality is that we can't (because it's bugged). lol

On a side note, you contradicted yourself...

I'm sure once we know that, we can figure out when most of us will be available and set the time.

That said, I'd guess we'll probably meet on a Tuesday night since that's the usual patch day (and it's one of the few days of the week the Horde doesn't already have something scheduled). haha

I just want to point out that the source you got this from was somebody's method to earn the "Midnight Dodger.." badge specifically, and you'd miss out on "Hacker" if you did it that way, requiring you to run it another time to complete MoTin.

To earn both badges in a single run (as your second quote stated):
One team member does not enter the building and waits to teleport the team back outside to regroup after the blinkies are clicked.
Gather at the door and get your pets/buffs going.
Proceed to enter the building again all at once and kick D11 off the planet! lol

The sidenote here is that using jetpacks and purples and such is usually not even necessary if you are going to the extremes of using multiple Warburg nukes and HVAS. D11 would be dead in less than 15 seconds. The mines wouldn't even start appearing until well after that time anyway... but I guess there is nothing wrong with being extra careful, especially if you will have wasted all that equipment if you fail.

Anyway, neither of those guides cover the last two badges.
Then again, they are pretty self-explanitory, but I'll add my anyway:
For the final fight with Bobcat and Neuron, you should pull Neuron around a corner (away from Bobcat) and just keep focusing on his clones until "Army of Neu" is earned. Then finish him off (as well as the incoming War Walkers). If done right, Bobcat should still be at 100% the whole time, so you'll easily earn "Kitty's Got Claws" after defeating her and finish off your MoTin.

If you happen to pull Bobcat with Neuron, just watch your pets and AoEs to try to keep her as alive as possible while you fight the rest. Pull them apart if you can, or retreat and try again if necessary.

    Good Luck!

  18. I was contacted privately by a 3rd-party with some concerns about my test. It seems that all my characters have their default colors, so the issue might not necessarily apply to them. At first, I assumed that changing my Scrapper's window from Red back to it's original blue would count as customizing, but just in case it's still counted as a "standard" color and not affected by the issue... I took my testing a bit further:

I logged onto a Stalker. The Windows were the default Villain red.
    I changed it green.
I relogged onto a Tanker. The windows were the default Hero blue.
The green from the Stalker did not carry over.
I figured maybe it ony breaks if BOTH characters have customized colors, so...
I changed the Tanker's windows purple and relogged onto the Stalker again.
The windows were green like they were supposed to be.

    Edit to clarify/add:
Each of my relogs were done without ever closing the client. I have since relogged back and forth between my Stalker and Tanker a few times, trying both the "Quit to Login Screen" and "Quit to Character Select" options, and neither has made the color incorrectly carry over to the other character.

I'm sorry. I tried my best, but I can't duplicate this issue or find any solution for you. I can only suggest trying a "verify files" and see if it clears up. "Verify Files" on the NCSoft Launcher can now be done by right-clicking City of Heroes and selecting "Repair (Consistency Check)". It might be worth a shot anyway.
  19. I am not experiencing this. My Hero ATs are still Blue. My Villain ATs are still red, and my Praetorian's are still gray... even after switching back and forth between them.

I also just tried changing the color of one of them and changing characters, but the other character still had it's own color from before.

The only slightly-related issue I ever had like this was immediately after GR was released. When my Hero moved over to become a Villain, the interface changed from Blue to Red. I thought it was designed that way and thought it was kinda cool, but.. it has not happened since, and I've been too lazy to change it again until now (that's the character I just tested your issue with).

On a side note, I am not sure how the NCSoft Launcher could be responsible for it. That sounds like it would be an issue for the client itself, which hasn't changed (other than a couple of it's own patches over the last couple weeks)... unless it didn't apply one of your patches properly for some reason.
  20. You know I'm in of course. I haven't run them yet or know too much about them at all, but I'm sure we can get the details sorted out by then.

I've got at least 3 characters I'd be working with, but I'll probably make MB the priority this time, so pencil him in if you could.

    Thanks

A glitch, a trick or normal?
Cutscenes are part of the map, so it's definitely possible to get yourself in them if you take the right steps to do so. I usually do it on purpose cause I have various phrases or emotes that I use just to kill the time. As Luna mentioned, I'm usually holding a Protest sign in the background to draw attention, but Tantrum is my new favorite emote to use when Rom gets infused. The screen shaking just adds to the effect. lol

The only trick is making sure you are in the right place at the right time. Another Cutscene people frequently take part of is Arbiter Sands during the STF. The best one I've seen so far is when a few of us positioned ourselves there drinking coffee and eating donuts when the last Cable was destroyed, resulting in a rather humorous Cutscene, especially when somebody had a /bind ready that said something like "Arbiter Sands didn't bring any snacks. GET HIM!" haha
  22. Most of the ones I've "heard" probably wouldn't be appropriate to be posted here. That's what makes them so noticeable. lol

It seems pretty random in that the TF does not always become bugged because someone dropped.
Passing the star by itself is not what bugs the TF, it's a combination of that and other things, which is why it never affects you until somebody drops. It may not be as random as it seems when you consider how many factors may be involved to make it happen. All I'm saying is that whenever I've formed a team from absolute scratch and never passed the star, the issue has never come up at all even if most of the team DC'd for whatever reason. That tells me it could be at least partially related, and if it helps me prevent any further issues, I'll just do the inviting myself and save a possible headache down the line. Has worked like a charm for quite a while now.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't be passing the star around, but if you are in a group of people that regularly team together and often have this issue, you might want to think about changing the way you form your team to see if it helps at all.

Hmm.. that might have been a copy/paste error of some sort (maybe left over from the Numina thread?).

The character I'm leading with is currently lvl 44, so my team will have access to all powers (except Alpha), unless I give the Star to somebody else on the team.
