Did an impromptu Lady Grey Strikeforce last night and it was great fun! The maps, the villains... was a good rounded team and we killed it in a similar time to Brawler (2hrs 50mins)
-
I'll go for this
Don'tcha love co-op zones?
(Master Zaprobo L50 Robotics/FF Mastermind)
-
I had no problems getting a nice full team for the Rikti Invasion Event, so no I don't consider the server quiet at all
-
Whats good with a MM? More minions! I'd recommend a Bots/Dark MM to complement - more AoE ranged attacks, and AoE debuff/healing goodness. FF's will shore up the holes in Miasma (bonus defense, status protection).
Stack up some Assault and Tactics as well then go to town! -
heh I'm sure I said we were outside the mansion (King Midas' I believe). Just good to all fight in the same location as then you get bigger and better Rikti spawns! (and we all want to trash 10 Assault Suits for the badge, I'm sure!)
-
All,
Just a short missive to say thanks for the great Rikti Invasion bashing team last night - this has had to have been the best world event since the Rularuu Invasion (and actually tops it!)
Hope to see you all defending Arachnos interests in future too! -
Aid Self is just fine as is - you have to sacrifice an extra power to get access to it, it is interruptible, and isn't a full heal by any measure.
I'm happy with it in there as is. -
The alarms did not sound at the research facility - Seeker Drones deployed by the two Protector ZR's had fried their internal circuitry - so the first warning the security staff had was the gaping wound in the 10inch steel blast door.
Stepping through the breach, Zaphod Robotnik paid no attention to the heat. The Force Shield gleaming around him dealt with that little problem.
"Pr... Professor, what are you doing?", one of the guards stammered as he began to raise his rifle.
"I'm heading out on a field test", the white haired scientist grinned. "Oh, and I wouldn't raise that rifle all the way into a firing position as my children may take offense to that..."

Pointing to the external fence, a Drone ZR cut away the chainlinks with a short series of laser blasts.
"I'll be back this evening gentlemen - there is science afoot!"
---
The residents of Talos Island were fleeing in terror - the explosions were bad enough, but the lasers and blinding lights had inspired in them a level of fear not really seen en masse since the Rikti War.
Fledgeling heroes flocking to the scene were met with a terrible sight. One large robot, armed with missile launchers and lasers was cutting a swathe though several of their heroic allies. Two other robots were laying down a healing blanket of nanites on their metallic cohorts, while a further three short robots were laying down a suppressive laser fire that held Paragon Finest at bay.
In the middle of it all though was the most chilling sight - a man in a lab coat laughing maniacally.
"It works! My lifes work, complete, a resounding success! And the idea of using heroes as test dummies... genius!"
As the Assault ZR dispatched another hero, who was forced to medi-teleport, the elderly scientist frowned a little. "Still", he thought to himself, "I am a little disturbed at all the dead and dying civilians".
Looking around at the carnage being wrought around him though, he smiled. "Can't make an omlette, without breaking a few eggs".
He was so caught in his reverie, that he did not notice the emergency signal on his wrist communicator for a few moments. Glancing at it, he stared slack-jawed as he then looked up. His creations had stopped firing - encased in tombs of rock, crushed by forces of gravity and circuitry blinded. Around him, Assault Rifle Blasters had levelled their weapons, and Tankers with heavy weapons hefted them near his face.
Stepping from out of the crowd, a tranditional spandex clad hero stepped out. "Professor Zaphod Robotnik, you are under arrest". -
<-- Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. These are great, enjoyed seeing them pop up everywhere
-
"What... how? This is my private journal, what is it doing on the PPD Informant Network? Reroute through ArachSecure 5, and encrypt on my mark...."
The rest of the transmission drowns out in static.
Rick calls over to you from his terminal, "Don't worry, he constantly changes the encryption on his journal but we're on top of it - we'll be back in soon"
Furious typing ensues from across the room. "By the way, did you hear that Arachnos let that other madman Dr Aeon go?" -
"Calling all heroes... Calling all heroes..."
You flick open your PPD Radio has you hear its familiar hailing sound, and tune in to hear the emergency signal.
"This is a Code Rogue Announcement. Update from Etoile Islands. Wanted scientific mastermind Zaphod Robotnik, codename Master Zaprobo, has reportedly captured Dr Aeon, the governor of Cap Au Diable."
You frown slightly. Why would two of the Rogue Isles' premiere scientists be at each others' throats? Villains, you just can't fathom them.
"More information as we have it. This has been a Code Rogue Announcement." -
Cunning ideas for any */Traps Mastermind, and the feint with your Henchmen is one I've used myself before.
I detailed most of my tools of the trade in the thread Mastermind PvP Tactics - hopefully useful to MM's of all persuasions -
You look up from your Police Scanner, as your communicator beeps. Picking up the line, you hear a voice you haven't heard in years - Rick Davies from DATA.
"Long time, no speak. Look, I'll cut to it - I've intercepted a worrying transmission from the Etoile Islands... you know, the Rogue Islands?"
You grunt your distaste - too many times have you been faced with Agents of Arachnos, and their allies - you are far too familiar with the "City of Villains".
"Well, it seems that Lord Recluse's plans have a took a sinister new turn. Look, I can't talk over an unsecure line like this - can you meet me at my offices in Atlas Park?"
You arrange a date and time and ring off, wondering what nefarious deed the Count of Cruel is planning now.
--
"Thanks for coming at such short notice - I know a lot of DATA's work is beneath your notice now, but this.... this is big league. I've prepped a computer with the decrypted information."
Stepping over to the terminal, you stare at the series of characters blazoned across the monitor...

Alas, I felt much the same when I moved to Defiant instead of Union when I transferred over from the States.
Still, I keep things RP friendly with my Journal of a Mastermind, and my (albeit decimated in membership) Villain Group. -
Yep - sign me on up for this (Master Zaprobo, L50 Robotics/FF) since I need the last badge for the set
-
Call it and I'll be there with MZ (so long as its after 1800hrs so I'm not at work, and not on a Sunday
)
-
Not needed at all. I run...
Assault
Tactics
Dispersion Bubble
Hover
Scorpion Shield
... and still use Force Bolt, Pulse Rifle Blast, Web Envelope, Web Cocoon, Aid Other and Aid Self intermittently.
Granted I can't constantly spam said additional powers, but I barely need to. Plenty of +Def -
Resistance powers? Go for the IO set Steadfast Protection.
Defense powers? Go for the IO set Karma.
Each one of those sets has a Global Knockback/Knockup Protection IO. You can not slot two of these to the same power, but you can spread multiples across several powers for extra protection. -
The opinion of Masterminds being no good in PvP dates to prior the introduction of Bodyguard mode - previously we were a weak target that could be easily dispatched with minimum effort.
These days in PvP, a lot of effort will be made to detach Masterminds from their henches to get the easy kill -
Alas, the Global Channels bug has seen the userbase of the "Masterminds" Global Channel decline when now is the best time to share information!
With the introduction of the Pet Damage sets, where else are you going to discuss their impact on your build?

Kinda baffled, why does every Patron Pools have summons, except for the Mastermind?
[/ QUOTE ]
To infuriate people like me who could do with another decent pet!

What would go best with Nec/Poi ? Thinking of Soul, as it has two imob/hold, pared with the Poison hold... pretty neat... Any thoughts ?
[/ QUOTE ]
All the Patrons for Masterminds give... 1x Shield, 1x AoE Blast, 1x AoE Immob, 1x Hold so picking one is pretty much just thematics. -
- Level 50 is in, with a new zone (Grandville) to go with.
- 41-50 gives access to Patron Power Pools. They're certainly new, but cool? Situational, really.
- No major changes -
All,
Since it seems to come up fairly often that people want to share their MM builds or get comments on them, added to the fact that I've just discovered a new character planners for builds, I thought we could use a consolidated thread for sharing!
Simply...
1. Create an account @ http://www.cohplanner.com/
2. Set up your build
3. Post the link to this thread!
Hell, just to be good to you all, I'll start the ball rolling with...

Okay, a review from an Assault Team Lead...
Prep: EoE Farming
This went extremely well and we tore through both Monster Island and the DE in the Abyss as well without a hitch. My team (formed in the Abyss) didn't take a single casualty, and stuck together well despite my on the fly team lead style developing
Hami: First Wave
Buffing phase done (somewhat elongated past prime), the Assault Team popped an EoE on the count of zero and charged in for the first Mending Mito. We scratched it maybe once... that's it. The rest of the time we took so much secondary effect (stun, fear, etc.) that we couldn't bring our guns to bear.
As a MM, all my pets were trashed by AoE's before they could even get a shot in. Obviously they have no role in this situation and should be better left unsummoned.
I think this may be down to the Hami/Yellow Tanks not having enough support and/or not having the tactics down pat - could their team leads to report in to see how it went for them.
Hami: On the Run!
A lot of people didn't get that the Mitos and Hami can drop anyone in an open area in the basin - the calls for getting behind scenery largely went unheard and we probably had more deaths than needed cos of it (not a problem this time since it was a wash out)
Hami: Thoughts for Improvement
A mix of BF's and EoE would probably allow the Assault Team to stay in the zone longer - I was stunned well before I took any damage.
My team was first rate! I reckon with a bit more refinement we can get this thing done.
Better luck next time all! -
I shall attend - pesky Devouring Earth, invading our isles, stealing our jobs and women!
