I'll be going for the Warworks for the Battle Orb (stacked Dispersion Bubble, Barrier Destiny and Battle Orb Shield Generator - everyone with me is a tank!) although I'm not crazy about the Warworks Mk-VI "Victoria". I may just stick at Warworks Total Radial Improved Ally.
Otherwise, if that doesn't work out I'll be going Clockwork - got to keep my mad robotics scientist theme going! -
Things improve (like with all MM's) past L32 when you get your final pet upgrade.
Your Lich gets Fearsome Stare and Petrifying Gaze which helps cut down on incoming damage plus all other henchmen get Siphon Life so they can self-heal a little.
My Necro/Poison is currently on hold at L33 but I recall things feeling better post 32, then it did immediately before. -

Quote:Same location (at the point of migration to the EU Servers, we were simply advised to download CohUpdater.EU.exe so I technically have both updaters installed. You can right click on each one (or click on the down arrow) and get to the Properties page and compare the "Install Location". If they are installed to the same location, then yes, uninstalling the US version will 'wipe out needed files' for your EU installation. If they are installed to different locations (most likely), then it would be safe to uninstall your US version.
Is there any way to manually remove the entry? Via the Registry or otherwise? Perhaps a new "Remove Listing" option could be added (hidden under Properties so an average guy isn't going to remove the link by accident) -
Quote:Absolutely! I meant those as the five paths to pick, not that they're Origin-locked. It just gives people the chance to pick some "generic" pets which aren't anything-themed.I'd go along with this only if we got to pick outside our origin or change our origin. I want robots! Not Warworks though, the only ones that I still think are cool are the War Walkers and they're too big to be practical as pets.
Magic could be "spirits" of some kind, to keep with the humanoid theme.
Zombies, meh. Twisted abominations resulting from the fateful words "God shmod, I want my monkeyman!" are way cooler than zombies, but rather limited concept-wise.
And I agree, the designs should all be originals (and hopefully at least re-colourable via the powers tailor interface).
Of course, if this redesign would delay the rest of the Incarnate slots, i still say go ahead with what we've got! -
My CoH install was originally a US installation that was later migrated to the EU servers. As a result, it appears that the NCsoft Launcher gives me...
I want to remove the US version listing (in red) and the only option to do so is "Uninstall". Would this wipe out needed files for my EU installation as well? -
Quote:This would be your key - and on that basis I'd take Thugs. You've simply mind-controlled regular citizens and armed them to turn them into your own personal army. The trick is that this yet-to-be-named Mastermind is a psychic, leading said forces via mind control
Throw in some Temp Powers like the Backup Radio and Shivan Shard (so you can have other minions on demand) and I reckon (with a good bio) it'd get the concept across very well. -
For my part, I'd have liked to see five options - one pet set themed to each origin. Sure, that may have missed the mark for a lot of people as well, but at least it won't be so intrinsicly tied to Praetoria.
Perhaps....
Natural = Gun-wielding/Martial Arts specialists (sidekick-esque)
Mutant = Various super-powered spandex clad types (Longbow-esque, but not actually LB as that'd not suit villains)
Tech = Robots, of course! (perhaps even Warworks could be kept)
Science = Zombies? (Not my fave origin this, someone might have a better idea!)
Magic = Floating will-o-wisps (like the veteran buff pets)
It'd need to be very vague types of pets to appeal to the widest "market share".
That said, since my only Incarnate is Master Zaprobo and he's been lusting after the Goliath Warworks since he saw them I'm not unhappy with the choices available. -
Great idea! While all the videos are mainly available on http://www.cityofheroes.com/media_an...os/videos.html they're not easily linkable or streamable.
So, here's a few YT links for you all.

When I heard about this Taskforce, I feared the worse for my Mastermind Primary and spec'd up a second build that used Group Teleport to force my henchmen to move as soon as I needed them to.
First time I ran it, perhaps because it was post-level shift for many, I had no issues with my standard Hover-build and just commanding the henches to move away. I only lost a drone or two.
More of an issue is the darn Greater Swords who kept chasing me around. Battle Maiden's patches themselves really haven't been any issue. -
Great! But now it's time to do some work
Head over to this thread and leave your feedback about the Lambda Trial.
- What did you like?
- What did you dislike?
- What would you change?
- What other suggestions do you have?
The more feedback we leave, the more worthwhile the entire event will have been for the dev team, and the more likely they'll be back to the EU Test Server in future. -
This is the slot I'm most worried about for Masterminds (and forgot to ask about last night). I hope it's been tested and that the secondary effects apply to the attacks of the henchmen as well.

Quote:Actually, the Raids are a bit better for story,, in this regard, as you have your contact (who we still have no idea who it is!) talking to you as you progress in the mission - giving you info on what's going on and what your objectives are.To me, doing TFs is the equivalent of doing radio missions (which I've stopped doing entirely now that jet packs can be bought, and with Ninja Run I don't often need them anyway). Almost everyone, it seems, wants to speed through TFs for the rewards. I'm not allowed time to find out what's going on, and I'm not going to slow down a team I've joined because what makes the game enjoyable for me is different for them, so a TF is just a series of mostly unconnected "go beat up this group" missions. I've done most of the TFs in the game at this point and I could not tell you what a single one of them was about.
Since they pop up as you go along, you'll be able to keep up with the story and contribute!
Alas, nothing can be done about the nature of the beast requiring you to repeat them over and over. -
Quote:All,I don't care HOW you play, if it really costs that much to get the next one, that is MORONIC! No matter how fan-boy you are, that is moronic!
Now, if doing a TF/SF nets you double the amount of shards that drop now, then maybe. But DANG!
And the next one BETTER be Demi-God like in the power it gives you!
This is all out of context. The Incarnate Threads drop like Shards do when in an Incarnate Trial. Additionally, you earn Incarnate XP (which is how you unlock subsequent incarnate slots)
The Shard to Thread conversion is not the only way (or even the preferred way) to acquire Threads. The new Trials are.
Shards are only for Alpha. Threads are for Judgement, Lore, Destiny and Interface. -
Quote:Damz is incorrect (maybe he just got unlucky with the RNG) but I was getting Incarnate Thread drops in the same manner as Incarnate Shard drops while in the Lambda Trial.Ah, I see. So you don't get threads as rewards on the raids, they're the Shard conversion method to advance?
I was also able to craft two Thread-based common components (but was unable to manage a third to make a Judgement ability) after converting 100 Shards to Threads on top of the drops I got. -

Quote:So the floating fortress is made on Primal Earth, by Primals.... for Praetorians.L20-40 Hero Task Force: The Sky is Falling
In preparation for the invasion of Primal Earth, Colonel Duray of the Praetorian Army has led a special operations team to establish a bulwark in Paragon City. He has a unique ally, his Primal Earth counterpart, Colonel Duray, leader of the Sky Raiders.
The two Durays plan to strike Talos Island and Skyway City and break the spirit of the resistance against Emperor Cole. The newly risen Incarnate Heroes have their hands full facing Emperor's Cole's lieutenants in Praetoria, and they are relying on up-and-coming Heroes in this Task Force to protect our world. -
Quote:It's set for no access until tonight's test. Has been that way since the previous I20 Sneak Peek.Erm.. guys. Can you join the test server? Because I can't. Everytime I tried, it says "Public access to this server has been disabled". And it's not just me, all the people that I asked to try have the same problem. I already posted a message about that on the french board, but guess what? No one answered!
Hold your horses until 8pm GMT. -
Oh, I'll be there. Since I pushed for EU Equivalency it'd be a little off if I wasn't
-
Rather than getting the whole set, I've found I get more mileage slotting one lower-end set (as others have said, Thunderstrike and Crushing Impact are wonderful!) and then using one slot for a purple proc.
All the utility, less of the cost! -
Quote:This would be my take as well - so much so that I will be taking and using both the Nerve and Musculature Alphas. One for being defensive (Nerve) and the other (Musculature) when raw firepower is needed. To me it comes down to Nerve or Musculature depending on how you are slotted. The incarnate content has you fighting level 54s and even with the level shift that means your battle bots are fighting +5s. Including Supremacy that means they have a base to hit of 40%. In order to give them a 95% to hit chance you really need both tactics and for them to have ED capped accuracy. If you don't have both of these then I would recommend Nerve because bringing their accuracy up is probably the most useful thing you can do.
In terms of progression, I will be following Musculature Core all the way to Paragon and the Nerve Radial path (though finally taking Nerve Core Paragon). -

I'm a Bots/FF Mastermind (but also have reasonable level Necro/Poison and Demons/Pain in the wings) and find that every Mastermind plays slightly differently.
The bulk of the time as MZ at lower levels I'm not using the little shields, instead I'm picking out targets in the crowd, issuing "Attack" commands and changing targets when I see a runner or a target low on health.
At high levels I'm opening up on a spawn with hold-proc'd Web Envelope and Web Cocoon'ing runners/harder targets plus using Pulse Rifle Blast (again, proc'd for Hold) to stop/kill runners.
Regardless of level, I am prone to hovering around the battlefield to use Force Bolt or Force Bubble to help keep the spawn under control.
Playing my Demons/Pain is a lot more stationary, but more active in Secondary use at all levels - I run in with the Demons so that my AoE heal is in position to aid them then top up/anti-mez any Demons that need it. This leaves me with less time to focus on/micromanage what the Demons are doing.
My Necro/Poison is on a relative backburner, but again is active on the secondary front leaving the undead to wander freely.
Of the three MM's I run I much prefer MZ - being able to focus more on the battlefield is more to my liking than just letting the henchmen AI go nuts. -
-
Since you mentioned "I love playing my artificer and throwing out everything from debuffs to robotic pets" I'd (perhaps unsurprisingly) recommend a Mastermind. You get to have your orange numbers from the henchmen, and support the team from your secondary.
While I'd not recommend my Bots/FF combination to you, I reckon you'd get along quite nicely with a */Pain Mastermind. You get to see the healing numbers fly, and later on you get a solid "game changing" buff in Painbringer.
Also, as many have said, */Dark Miasma is a very active powerset, and would pair well with a Mastermind. My wife runs a Bots/Dark MM and sometimes I wish I had that combo too
Just my take on things - like you I frequently run out of steam playing Defenders, Controllers and Corruptors and don't get them past their 20's. Same with Dominators, though I have hope for a lowbie Plant/Earth I'm running at the moment. -
Hmmm, well I guess I'd finally get around to picking up the single-player RPG's I've been missing out on over the years.
That and finally get some time in on the other MMO I have an active (lifetime) subscription on.
