I'll be basing this on my experience with Eskrima (Filipino stick and knife fighting) and other martial arts.

    I'll be there!
  2. Gotta say, he does a good job picking one colorscheme and sticking with it. At that age I would be creating characters that looked like a rainbow puked on them XD

Well, one of my biggest problems with some of the stronger melee attacks like Energy Melee and Super Strength is the slowness of the attacks. Now, the alternate attacks for Super Strength are good, but now there seems to be a lot of empty time or preparing to attack in the "hauling back because ZOMG this low level attack is so awesome and POWAHFULLL!!" So would it be possible to maybe make some of them a quicker attack that uses the entire existing animation time.. say some sort of combination 1-2, jab then quick but powerful uppercut, for instance?

I mean.. I'm all for people wanting to look and feel powerful, but some people prefer quickness, and even if the animation time stays the same but it's a combination attack, it could help people believe it's quicker.

Sounds like a great idea, actually. Trading a big comic-book classic windup for a combo or two would fit a lot of character concepts, and might get us one step closer to a "Street fighting" type set.
  4. Or at least make it so that the co-ordinated 8 man click happened right off the bat, getting it out of the way quickly in case someone drops out.

And yeah, considering I've never tackled the Transendence trial or know anyone who has, making it tolerable sounds like a Good Idea (tm)

    Vanguard Pricing

There's the sense of accomplishment of "I earned it!", then there's the sense of "I'd have to spend 20 otherwise productive hours of my life just to earn one costume piece. Stuff that." It's a tricky balance between making it too easy and making it a huge grindfest waste of time, but right now trying to kit a character out in full Vanguard armor falls squarely in the latter category.

  6. Had I any real smarts, I'd edit the above image to replace "you" with "Foo". Hopefully this shall suffice.
  7. Well, I only have 1 published arc, and while it has two custom groups I'm proud of they only have 3 missions devoted to them...

True enough, but it's not so much the physical similarity between Marty and Ash that spooked me as it was the similar personalities.

Of course, having discovered my purely original-thought design had already been done to great success, I dreaded being declared a rip-off. Thus Marty's undying worship of Bruce Campbell came about, as an acknowledgement and explaination of why they seemed so alike.

    Vanguard Pricing

A bit of tweaking would be good. Having gone on several ship raids I know just what a storm of chaos and lag it can be. I shudder to think what someone with a less powerful computer would have to deal with. Offering merits for completion of Vanguard missions and the LGTF would be good ways to get extra merits, though I'm not sure having Borea's missions give merits is a good thing or not.

Also: Necantebo's Curse Breaker. Seriously. Shelling out 50 merits for a limited-use power whose sole purpose is to counter one debuff attack that most of the playerbase will never encounter, let alone get affected by? That's just silly. (Please note the sweeping generalization there, so please don't reply with playerbase breakdown pie charts or horror stories as to what the Curse did to your toon).

While sorta on the topic of Vanguard merits and what they're used for, be nice if they came up with a new power or perk you can use merits on...
  10. For a long while I thought Marty was a unique entity. He was brash, ballsy, loud, obnoxious, witty, sarcastic a bit of a klutz, and not always that bright. I thought I had forged a new sort of hero. Then, one Friday night I decided to flip over to Space Channel because they were playing a movie I'd heard about. Little did I realize to my joy and horror that I would behold Marty made flesh, but not as a man...

    ...as a king.
  11. Way I see it, if the trial has been backburnered due to fear of PvP, then change up the rewards a bit. Give a triumphant SG the option of either a trophy that offers a very minor buff or a trophy that carries a full-strength Item of Power buff, with only the latter making you a raid target (and no, the PvE reward does not stack with multiple successful trials).

I am also in utter agreement that we need content for the Supercomputer, especially blueside. Bill's idea of making new base items the reward for said content is, to put it mildly, bloody brilliant.
  12. Funnily enough, Trix owes her unique skin color because the character was originally a Zeltron in a Star Wars RP.

    Feral Kat artz!

Neo B is ludicrously good when it comes to curves and the female form in general. The addition of the cat is a nifty touch, was that your idea or his?
  14. I'm all for increased variety in badguy groups you're forced to fight frequently. A more complex solution to villains always fighting Longbow is to add more depth to the Legacy Chain and Wyvern. Giving the Legacy Chain lvl 30+ stuff like "Celestial" Lts and bosses in the vein of CoT Behemoths has been an old idea of mine. Of course, the issue with the Chain and Wyvern isn't so much the lack of units as it is a lack of content using them, as they suddenly drop off at 30 and put you on a constant diet of red and white do-gooders.

Sorry, went off on a tangent there. Looking at the way Longbow is spread there's a good array of minions and a surprisingly dazzling number of Warden types (even though they all look the same), there's only 4 Lts if you count the upgraded Nully as a seperate one. Bolster the middle ranks so they match the other ranks within the group.

  16. Yes, it'd be rather nice to get ambushed by PPD officers instead of Malta goons who suddenly want a piece of you right there and then. Its current state really fails to convey the feeling the Countess has managed to turn you into Public Enemy #1.

Sadly, Vegas oddsmakers rate the chance that the Powers that Dev go back and revise Old Content are a little less than Satan riding a toboggan that's being pulled by a team of flying pigs who have all recieved a major tax break by the government.

    Carnies!!!!

Sprinkling some Carnies into Founders and roll back the Rikti sounds fun. The Rikti already have the Warzone devoted to them, and it's a bit underwhelming when your first encounter with the Vicious Alien Invaders is with a handful loitering on a street corner, not actually doing anything. (While on the subject of FF, the Crey there need to stop the "No one must break our ranks" kneeling thing and actually do stuff. Mug civilians, commit wireless datahacking, something that wasn't recycled from Nemesis).

As for Peregrine, there needs to be a bit more variety. On the beaches, DE rule. Bit farther in, it's all Rikti. Into the urban proper it feels like it's 85% Nemesis with 5% each of Malta, Carnies, and Rikti (again). Crey fills the role of sniper (as well as sometimes appearing on the docks fighting other factions), while the Circle dominates Portal Corp in order to show off their fancy Possessed Scientist units. Then there's the random Nem/Malta/Carnie ambushes where they literally pop out of nowhere and pounce. I say reduce Nemesis and the Circle's stranglehold on the bulk of the island and let the 40-50 lvl villain groups run things.
  18. Since I don't like to be demanding or overly attention-seeking (AKA "OHOHPICKMEPICKMEPICKMEPICKME!!! [not implying anyone here is that bad, naturally]), I'ma just going to give Foo my various character profiles: http://zerry.deviantart.com/gallery/#Character-Profiles and the more developed characters' costume spreads: http://zerry.deviantart.com/gallery/#Costume-Spreads (some of which are horribly out of date, but oh well) and hope something sparks Foomeister's imagination.
  19. Okay, since we're all scratching our heads over this, wanna enlighten us? Going by the updates I'm guessing your comp tends to faceplant a lot when you're trying to play the game, but that's me guessing. What's the story?

  24. Yep, everyone forgets about the island, as the brain generally equates water = border.
