Carnies!!!!
The plague of random hunts is that spawns are almost completely random, and if you have the poor luck to hunt something with no spawns points all its own, or something which doesn't spawn in the right level, you're SOL. Far as I'm concerned, we need to root hunt missions out of arcs as much as possible.
That said, yes. A place that spawns ONLY Carnies in Peregrine Island would be very, very appreciated.

I'm guessing that you got one of those really annoying hunt missions. What was it, Hunt 50 Carnies?
I'm going to toss an "/agreed" at the OP, and throw in the following:
IMO, any Hunt mission that's longer than 25 foes is pointless, annoying and an intentional waste of time. I don't mind hunt missions, I just don't like annoying ones, and would like to see the size limited to 25 or less.
So Please make them more easier to find and hunt down on the Blue side

I'll make you a deal. I'll hunt your "hard-to-get" blue side Carnies for you if you hunt my red side...
200 Legacy Chain lieutenants
200 Banished Pantheon masks
100 Troll bosses
100 Outcast bosses
100 Rulaaru Overseer bosses
100 Skull bosses
100 Nemesis bosses
100 Warrior bosses
I'll take your "hard-to-get" blue side Carnies any day of the week.
I play both blue and red side, and I'm sorry... but I have no sympathy for blue side hunting badges when 99% of the time you have several neighborhoods of several zones to earn them.
The disparity between earning "hard-to-get" hunting badges on the red side vice blue is ridiculous

OP isn't talking about badges. He's talking about Hunt Missions. I once got 3 of them in a row (you know, go hunt 45 Carnies in PI, and when you're done, hunt 45 more; oh, and when done with that, hunt another 45). I logged to another toon and guess what mission I got: hunt 45 Carnies. It's not pretty.
As for your concerns, only the Outcasts are hard to get Villain side, because you only get a spawn of two and in only one mission. As for the other, they aren't that hard to get any more, especially with the new mission settings.

In this, I couldn't disagree more... again, when comparing the disparity between blue and red regarding hunting. I would much rather see the devs spend their time addressing several disparities for red side hunting before allocating resources to fix only one instance for blue.

And to think some people say that the lack of hazard zones red-side is a good thing. I'll never understand people.

I understand that, however hunting is hunting. I use the red side badges as an example of the disparity in hunting red side vice blue side in general.

Besides, I'd put money down that you'll pick up Going Rogue and work that villain through the side switching process at least once - which means your badge complaint is *already in process of having a workaround.* The Carnie hunt is not.
Honestly half the problem IMO is that Founders Falls needs a revamp, which should include swapping out Rikti with Carnies.

I agree with some of this, it's just when your on the blue side. And you get the mission to hunt 45 - 50 Carnies around PI it get's really really frustrating, because you find them in small groups here and there. And the spawn rates for them is so small that it's not funny, I mean you can hunt down Malta's, Rikti, & Nemesis easier in PI faster than you can with Carnies.. Thats' why I suggest that they have their own little piece of PI where it's easier to hunt them down when ever you get a mission like [Hunt down 45 - 50 Carnies]

As to the reply; Hogwash.
Trolls also only spawn in Paper missions at the right range. Although they aren't needed to unlock anything.
Rularuu are only available in specific arcs that need unlocking, while Hero's can wander into the Shard at will. And they ARE needed to unlock things, which is major, major suck.
Redcaps ONLY spawn during Holiday events. For a mob that unlocks a weapon Redside this is utter, utter tripe.
Nemesis Fakes are a horror to find Redside, unless you farm some of Televisions missions. PI has them in numerous spawns blueside. Again used for a weapon unlock.
I think they semi-fixed the Family Boss issue, but it's still much more a swine to get Redside than blue.
OT? I hate hunts in general, full stop. I can stomach the 10 X hunts in the Hollows, for example, but 25+ is horrendous.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Sprinkling some Carnies into Founders and roll back the Rikti sounds fun. The Rikti already have the Warzone devoted to them, and it's a bit underwhelming when your first encounter with the Vicious Alien Invaders is with a handful loitering on a street corner, not actually doing anything. (While on the subject of FF, the Crey there need to stop the "No one must break our ranks" kneeling thing and actually do stuff. Mug civilians, commit wireless datahacking, something that wasn't recycled from Nemesis).
As for Peregrine, there needs to be a bit more variety. On the beaches, DE rule. Bit farther in, it's all Rikti. Into the urban proper it feels like it's 85% Nemesis with 5% each of Malta, Carnies, and Rikti (again). Crey fills the role of sniper (as well as sometimes appearing on the docks fighting other factions), while the Circle dominates Portal Corp in order to show off their fancy Possessed Scientist units. Then there's the random Nem/Malta/Carnie ambushes where they literally pop out of nowhere and pounce. I say reduce Nemesis and the Circle's stranglehold on the bulk of the island and let the 40-50 lvl villain groups run things.

all I'm suggesting is that since the Rikti has the RWZ, and you can find mobs of Nemesis and Malta up the butt, not mentioning Crazed Scienists from the CoT.. I want to see a larger collection of Carnies, cause everytime I get a freaken mission it's [Hunt 50 Carnies] and the only thing I say at the moment is "WTF are they?" you run around and find only a small hand full here and there, and sometimes they pop up.. you can run into Malta and Nemesis before you run into Carnies, this is why I would like to see them have their own little carnavil island just for Carnies that way if I need to find them I'll know where they are.. but revamping FF is also a neat idea. The Rikti is swarming around FF and PI but they got a BIG space in the war zone dedicated to them.. don't you think they will all disappear from those two zones to focus all their resources and etc. On defending the Mothership?

So? It's still a valid point when concerning rediculous spawning.

You don't need badges. You NEED to finish these missions.

The villain Rularuu arcs don't need unlocking...both of them come from normal contacts.

Naylor's arc only comes up IF you have completed Psimon Omega's arc.
And THAT only comes up if you complete the arc of the ex-Longbow girl before him.
Trust me, I found this out the hard and painful way with my claws stalker when I realised I wanted the claws, and am now stuck with the choices of either picking Scirrocco as a patron, or begging people who have the arc.
I have no idea wether you can get the badge that unlocks them through Ouro or not. Either way, it's no walk in the park.

The point was never ridiculous spawning, it was ridiculous missions. I can live with a badge or two being hard to attain as long as they bring no benefits. But since I can only drop a mission once ever three days, and one of the Hunt Carnies on Peregrine comes up in the middle of an arc, those mission are a real, tangible roadblock to content.
You don't need badges. You NEED to finish these missions. |
I only care when the badges unlock costume items and weapons, like that damn Nemesis badge. Especially when said item is key to a design.
If I dont have a skip handy, I'll either do something else or, if I want to crack on, yell around for some SG/friends to come quickly bash, then roll on. Or just tough it out.
I still /sign making hunts smaller/getting rid of them/making necessary mobs more frequent.
Two birds with one stone.

I'd love for the 'zone lock' in the hunt missions to be removed - or at least expanded to Newspaper/Radio missions in that same zone. This would make getting a pool of a given enemy still non-trivial, but doable. What would make this much more fun, is if having a 'Hunt' mission would inject that enemy group into the Newspaper/Radio randomizer.
So, you have a mission to hunt a given faction and you put that out to your nebulous cloud of contacts and snitches, who respond via paper/radio with information on where you can find that group. This ensures that the group of enemies you hunt are level appropriate - give or take your difficulty settings. No more mopping up grey-mobs because those are all you can find, or trying to find some of a given faction that aren't all purple! Even better if this worked for your whole team... So you can 'PL' a little and still complete missions for your contacts.
Be Well!

Ok this suggestion came to mind when trying to hunt them around PI, and only finding very small groups here and there. And I wanted to Suggest to have more of them spawn or have them in a large area like they are on St. Martial on the Red side, that way it becomes easier to hunt them down than what they are now when your running around PI.. it'll be easier for players like myself to find them and hunt them down when doing their missions, and trust me when I say, I love hunting down carnies.. So Please make them more easier to find and hunt down on the Blue side, like give them their own little fun house island maybe?
