See. Cheating.
[/ QUOTE ]
And surrounding yourself in Caltrops has to be cheating too!
How is anyone supposed too 2-hit kill you then?
Doesn't make sense to me
[/ QUOTE ]
That's right! Frosty is so very clearly overpowered, it's not true!
He's just lucky that I would never call for a nerf of a power, especially one like targeting drone, which has already been nerfed.
NERF TARGETING DRONE! <clamps hands over mouth>
[/ QUOTE ]
Pfft! wait till i get those lovely trip mines BOOM!
Actually i'm in sirens now and its not going so great :P Oh well, must level faster!! -
[ QUOTE ]
It's always fun, though and Frosty is one of the few you can properly taunt on /broadcast, because he's funny and always plays in the right spirit.
Even if he does cheat by having a targeting drone.
[/ QUOTE ]
And tactics :P -
hehe some nice responses.
Will certainly be very interesting when myself and any other stalker hunters (havent met any but there may be some) get leveled. -
hey.
I was on hero side as Frosty McNeil, logged in just as heroes were penned in there base, died, came back and pulled a shivan out my sleeve
Frosty isnt quite big enough to kill yet, so I spent a lot of the night revealing stalkers and interupting there AS to reduce the hero casulties. -
Had one in bloody bay the other day. Our team of about 4 or 5 consisted totally of little characters. As soon as i get off the helicopter I see a stalker sitting near our base, i run up drop caltrops and start attacking, my team joins in and he goes down pretty quickly. Took me a while to realise how silly this must have looked from his perspective. There he is hoping to pick up a few easy scalps, and a load of midgets charge off the helicopter and start pounding him.
-
Wonder if i can hit lvl 20 with frosty by then, lvl 19.5 at the moment.

Which made me think why did he attack a team of three and shout when two of them retaliated?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've seen this a lot with stalkers, they attack a group then complain that they got ganked when things go bad for them. -
I mostly play small characters, it always amazes me that some people think insulting the height of your character is an insult to ther person playing them. They never seem to realise that I choose to play a shortie rather then get forced into it by something genetic.
-
I remember a really good night of pvp with my stormie when this stalker started sending me tells. He wasnt rude or a aggressive, just a little bit "matter of fact" about it.
Stalker "you wont be able to engage in your favorite sport anymore"
Me "Eh? I dont understand"
Stalker "You used to like throwing me off buildings, but now you cant see me since i've slotted properly"
Me "Oh, I cant remember ever throwing anyone off a building with this character"
In the space of a few minutes after that, me and my team must have killed him about 3 or 4 times. Not to annoy him after his tells, simply because I COULD see him and he tended to stick around near our team. Anywho, i just thought it was funny how he got killed a few times after boasting about that. -
End drain is about the only thing I can do with my kin/elec in pvp and i consider it a job well down simply to hoover all the blue stuff out someone. It can be pretty effective, the best i've done is juggle 2 villians for a few minutes before they gave up and recovered enough end to run off, i think it was a stalker and a corruptor. Obviously more players draining means a better chance of getting them locked down.

I'm speaking largly based on my experience of playing an Ice/Ice Dom and an Illusion/TA Contoller at about the same levels at the same time. For my dom at level 30 a single boss and a couple of minions is a major challenge solo, whereas my controller can plow through double boss spawns up to about 8 strong without breaking into a sweat. The controller doesn't just outdamage the dom, it does so by a MASSIVE amount.
[/ QUOTE ]
If this is the case with builds comparisons i'd rather see controller damage toned down than dom damage pushed up, controllers get enough great powers as it is -
Good luck. I know from personal experience how these things can go.
-
I dont see any need to increase the damage, doms arent damage dealers. The domination bar might need work though.
-
Having fun with an MA/SR scrapper but have a few questions.
The defences in SR look pretty good, but how much should I slot in them? Origianlly I thought 3 defence, now i'm thinking, 2 defence and 1 or 2 end reducers on toggles.
I see a power in there which defends against confusion effectsIs there one which defends against a stalkers placate?
Should my build strategy focus on primarys or secondarys? I was thinking of taking enough good attacks so i'm never standing around waiting for a recharge.
Can a scrappers brawl inflict a critical? -

It's really off putting when someone just pops a break free.

Its annoying when you get held and you dont have any BF's too
Holds are in my top 3 most annoying ways to die so its worth sticking with it. I've been tempted to make one for myself. -
It doesnt bother me too much, would bother me even less if pet buffing powers were cone powers or aoe's or something.
-
I dont like the idea of stopping new people coming into an already unbalanced zone, simply because I dont want to be standing outside like a gooseberry
Also, what happens if the sides are balanced and a load of villains leave? Do the last few heroes who entered get chucked out?
The idea of pets to help out sounds good, it could change the flavour of the zone a little bit too much though, and it sounds like we'l have super pets in recluses victory.
I've noticed that when one side is balanced, if you wait 20-30 minutes, chances are things will improve. Some method of rewarding people for sticking around through the tough times might help out. Simply surviving in an 8 to 1 situation is pretty tough, maybe some pvp missions for the outnumbered side, where the goal is simply to survive in sirens.
Eg. "deliver this bug to our spy on the hero/villain faction, if successful, we may be able replicate there powers for a short time". So you have a courier mission resulting in a temp power.
Could prolly have something like an assasination mission on a mob too. The point is, easy missions which force outnumbered players out of there base, with the reward of becoming more powerful for a better chance against the players in the zone. -

Cheap as hiding by NPCs might be, it's no more cheap than SJing to the top of a building to escape an SSer, or mezzing someone and then running. Tactics are more than just "pres butan".
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes it is, a npc can give debt.
[/ QUOTE ]
People should be allowed to fight dirty if they want to, maybe take out the debt from NPC's though. Not sure about NPC's helping out outnumbered players but it would be good to somehow try and balance the sides a bit when one is heavily outnumbered. -

Simply put, a common way used to backhandedly insult someone, is to insult them in a way that will appear as a joke to others, but will definately insult the target. That way if they respond in anger, you make them look like an a-hole or a whinger.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah. Got to say thats one of my fawourites. It's like double insult if they fall for it. hehe
[/ QUOTE ]
Honestly, I wouldnt go boasting about it. -

One more thing, can i go to the pvp zones without cov, as i haven't been able to get it yet, i reactivated my account today.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've heard people say you need cov to get into the PVP zones. However, i'm certain i've got into the bay before i had cov, and i also fight villains there who hadnt bought cov. Best bet is to try it out -

Again, I put the following together after having thought about the prospect of Electrical Tankers. Most powers are nicked from Blaster Electricity Manipulation and Electric Mastery, but some come from other sets too. The *'ed powers come mainly from Energy Aura and are to give only an idea of what I think may be implemented.
ELECTRICAL AURA
S/L/E Shield : Charged Armour
Damage Aura : Lightning Field
End Drain : Short Circuit
Dull Pain : Dull Pain, but with a fancy name, like Prevailing Static or something
E/N/F/C Shield : *Power Shield, but for Res
Mez Protection : *Entropy Shield
E/N Passive : *Energies Protection
End Rec : Power Sink
Panic Button : *Overload or EM Pulse
ELECTRICAL MELEE
Single 1 : *Scorch
Single 2 : Charged Brawl
Single 3 : Havoc Punch
Taunt : Taunt
Cone : Static Discharge
Build Up : Build Up
AoE Disorient : Lightning Clap
Hold : Shocking Grasp
Single 4 : Thunder Strike
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah I would agree with that set
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you say ....over powered, end drain end recovery and a heal in 1 set maby im just being a pesemist but I dont think its gonna happen.
PS:i know I cant spell
[/ QUOTE ]
My Kin/elec defender has end drain, end recovery and a heal :| Thing is he cant hit very hard. If the new brute has damage too (which it should) i'd hope they tone the end drain down a bit. Fought biopulse with an alt last night, i expect the new elec brutes to be a bit like that.
