  1. Dev blasters can make a pretty good job of forcing there way through a PFF too. Also, debuffs like snow storm seem to get through it regardless. Could find someone to take your place in the duel and shut the cocky MM up.

    My view of this is that deliberately taking out spectators when they are trying to watch a fight is a very bad thing and the people who find this amusing do have something wrong with them. Really, they are the sort of people I would avoid teaming with as it shows they have no consideration for others.

    Seen that drive by strategy used a lot before and no one complained. Sounds like they were jerks, put em on ignore then kill them some more.
  7. I think the issue is more about base security than with TP (I wouldnt agree its a useless travel power, or the ultimate break free btw). A few nights back some villains tryed to throw enough bodies at the drones so someone could land an AS. Changing TP wouldnt have really done anything in that instance. Base security prolly needs looked at but I wouldnt want people to idle in the zone and be my bounty, seen that happen before

    Just to let you on a small secret here.AR snipe has knockdown.Pretty much covers the gap for the follow up shot and the animation .This means that while the stalker for 2 seconds is being knocked i am loading second follow up snipe .By time he is going to hit heal i am firing.

    Yeah tp foe on tripmines is not my focus.Too much stationary time for a pvp zone which i dont really like.

    Here is a view of my build although its not the final build just an indication of the slotting and powers i pick.If you want i can make out an exact build when i hit 50.Notice that this build is focused on low firing downtimes and maximum movement speed after firing initial shot giving minimum time to target to evade.I also use a variety of macros that toggle fly to SS and set auto follow on target so that stalkers trying to evade follow up hit with defiance dont stand much like with 3 slotted SS

    Also, there was an interesting bug (the last time I checked), where if you started the game through City of Villains, then picked a hero, or if you opened the game through City of Heroes, and picked a villain... when you complete a buffing mission for your own team, it says you buffed the enemy. Uhm.. lemme explain that a bit better :

    Opened game with : City of Villains updater
    Played PVP mission with : Hero
    Mission complete message : Captain Hero buffed the villains!

    Opened game with : City of Heroes updater
    Played PVP mission with : Villain
    Mission complete message : Sgt Nasty buffed the Heroes!

    It gets confusing, eh? It seems which updater you open sets who to call your allies. Because I dont have the foggiest clue on how to actually check, could this actually be buffing your enemy/debuffing your allies? Or is this just a hiccup in the naming?

    I think it depends on the current buffs. If the heroes are buffed by 10% and Sgt nasty does a mission. It will say something like "Sgt nasty completed a mission. the heroes now have a 9% buff to dwarf tossing abilities". So even though Sgt nasty is a baddie, it says uses the word "buff".
    Least, thats the way I read it. Confused me for a while too.

    Actually, I really like that idea. Rather than giving out debt when you get KO'ed in PVP (well, SC at least)... make the hero/villain KO count against their team. This might actually make it a lot easier to regain/keep control over the zone, and you wouldnt feel any guilt in using the NPC's to your advantage (its war!). Personally I think relying on hotspot battles to regain control is FAR too tedious, and there is the massive risk of debt when two player-characters end up in one.

    At the very least, the debt for being KO'ed by an NPC, if not completely removed, should be reduced to that of an indoor mission. If they were worried about removing debt completely and having no punishment for reckless fighting in PVP, they could give people KO'ed by NPCs a temp debuff that lasts for a few minutes. Or even lower their level by 2 for a few minutes (preventing them from using another one of their powers in PVP until it wears off.)

    Not sure if I misread the start of your post or something. earlier I meant, if you are fighting at a hotspot and die, it gets factored into the calculation to figure out who wins that hotspot. If you are saying a PC death could be factored in regardless of where they are in the zone, I think that would work even better. Hmm, maybe this deserves a new thread.
  13. Less NPC's at the hotspots, better and cheaper rewards, make the bar move a bit quicker, maybe even increasing exponentialy with increasing victorys, might all help. Not sure about the debt, no one wants to get debt, but there should be some sort of punishment for being defeated. Maybe remove debt and make a hero's defeat push up the chances of it being a villain victory (dont know how they currently work it out).

  18. I wouldnt worry about it at all, there black list is prolly them and about 5 other ppl trying to force there own rules down other peoples throats. It doesnt seem you done anything wrong for a duel, and although these are made up rules I cant imagine anyone having an objection to you moving around while staying insdie the designated "arena". If they start giving you grief, petition them.

    Havent done much pvp on defiant. So far I'm a bit disspointed, once I level my villains a little more I'l get stuck in again and maybe change my mind. Until then my pvp will mostly be on union.

    Its far more fun AND clever then leaping into a group of heroes outnumbering you 2 to 1. Sounds like you just want people to get out there hospital so you can gank them.

    Anywho, I think there has to be some sort of defences, safe zone or combination of both. Otherwise your opponents outnumbering you 2 to 1 would simply stand at the sharkhead/steel canyon exit and murder you as you respawn. I'd just have people appear blue until the exit they hospital and leave everything else the same.

TPing in and out of bases depends on whether the devs want bases to be 100% safe zones, sticking an inpenitrable pff on someone when they are near the drones so they cant attack or be attacked would give us a safe zone. I like things the way they are just now, you can be port in/out, get attacked in your base, get sniped porting someone in, whats not fun with that? Possibly the only thing i'd change is make the hospital a 100% safe zone and remove players in base from the bounty system ie. they wont appear as anyone's bounty till they leave there base. The idea of making purple inspirations defend from tp foe is a good one as well, although i think he was maybe taking the mikey with it :P

    As far as I know these arent meant to be 100% safe zones (where is it stated?), if they are then something would have to be changed as you can still attack and be attacked in these areas. What I'd like to see is players being removed from pvp status once they enter the hospital (keeping all bounty but removed from the bounty system).
