Is this power any good? I didnt pick it cos I thought it looked a bit silly. Due a respec in a few levels though and I'm starting to think it might be a good way to get a few extra seconds in the pvp zones.

Only suggestion I can give, is when you go to a PvP zone, an all-stalker team isnt as effective as it looks, cause a decent balanced hero team will kick your [censored] with relative ease.
[/ QUOTE ]
Definately. You want some buffers/debuffers/mezzers on the team. Any decent mixed hero team can destroy a team of Stalkers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just as a team of good villains can kill the opposing balanced hero team(note, im not trying to counter your argument, rather than point out that its down to peoples playing skills rather than builds always)
Personally I think that its the villains who are having trouble in the zones currently, which is why I play that side when I get the chance. Playing heroes is too easy atm.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh definately, a good team on either side can do very well. It's just a pity that it rarely happens on both sides at the same time.
[/ QUOTE ]
PVP teams are near impossible to build, I'd like to see a change in the search function, a new flag which says you would consider a pvp team. -
Sorry you had a bad time. Seems there are almost always way more heroes than villains on defiant. If I wasnt enjoying the pve side so much i'd wipe my Dom and rebuild him on union. I'm just hopeing "city of lvl 40+ spine blasters" balances out a bit nearer the end of the year. If it helps I sometimes play a MM with grant invis and enjoy teaming with stalkers.
-
I woulda attacked them over and over till they got bored and left.
-
Sometimes I ignore the 1st group, run to the 2nd and attack there. Then I run to the previous group, by which time the mobs persuing me have got bored, and hide has kicked back in, so i can attack them and repeat the process. It doesnt always work, has to be a big enough distance between groups etc. It pays to look around 1st, plan escape routes and so on.

I'm not the slightest bit surprised PvP zones are like this. It's no different to the morons in Counter Strike. Doesn't matter where you go, if there's PvP, then you'll get 1 or 2 total morons out of a hundred good players who'll stop at nothing to ruin other peoples fun.
Personally, I don't PvP. I've tried it about 10 times, and had 8 bad experiences. I dislike the attitude prevalent in a few players in those zones, and I dislike the smacktalk. When I've deathmatched in things like Quake etc, smacktalk is almost non-existant! Maybe it's because I play with people I know...
Anyway, the worst part of it all is being TP'd into PvE mobs with low health, just to give you debt (This happened to me only a few days ago so don't say it doesn't happen). Fair fights are fine, even interrupting an existing fight is within the rules (though REALLY rude IMO), but doing it in a way that causes debt is just low.
I've said it before and I say it again, PvP has made this game less fun.

There are bad people in PvP just as there are bad people in PvE.

Couldnt agree more. A few weeks back my dom got invited to a PVE team lead by a stalker. A CoT mish where we were struggling quite a bit. At one point, A large room in the sewers crawling with CoT I tried to slow everyone down and explain we have to pull or suffer a team wipe. No one volunteered to pull so that left me the designated puller by default (no probs). I asked people to get out of the mobs sight to reduce the chances of a bad pull. The stalker complains that this is taking to long, AS's a CoT, dies, then speaks about it as if he achieved something. All the mobs flood towards us and almost everyone dies. I get told over team chat that I'm worthless pathetic person and a useless player, then I get kicked.
The interesting part is then I see the same guy in sirens call over the next few days. He treats everyone the same, villians are loosing cos "you are all useless COV players" and "if I knew where you lived I'd come round with a baseball bat and murder your family" (I think he got a petition for that one). Now he's spreading lies that I dont pull my weight in a team, thankfully he's gaining a reputation as a muppet and no one pays any attention to his opinion anyway. Hmm. Anyway, I think think I'm trying to say you can meet the same morons in the pve zones.
ps. as far as I know the stalker doesnt post here before anyone goes "Oh i know who that guy is, he posts as......". -
Its an old thread, but no sense starting a new one.
Wouldnt it be better if hide + stealth didnt stack but targetting broke as soon as your opponent lost LOS. Much easier to dive behind walls and hide "properly". -
They are becoming my fave COV AT despite my lack of enthusiasm with controllers. I play mind/nrg and think of doms as blappers with control powers, blast away till they are tied up, then pounce on them and start hammering away..ahem. I tried gravity a few days back (grav/ice in fact) and its a bit different from the other sets, I dont believe its the gimped set its made out to be though and would be powerful in the right hands.

Ok, I'm someone who goes in to the PVP zones both for badges and sometimes for PVP, but that doesn't mean I expect free immunity just because I'm not out picking a fight. Even in Warburg where I risk being attacked by a fellow Villain I accept that this may indeed happen as I leave/enter the villain base. You are given fair warning both entering and during your time there so you should be willing to accept that you are fair game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Often I'll only attack a badge hunter once, after that its a case of only attacking if they are bounty or start getting in the way. Theres no fun fighting someone who wont fight back (unless they start [censored] like crazy and swearing at me)

Today some guy appologised for fleeing when i attacked him!

I'm guessing it wasn't a Stalker

Scrapper, I was playing my Dom. -

dont take much to be polite does it, cept they're aint many that r, cuz they all think like you..

Thank goodness. I hate to think what the zones would be like if they were populated with flower arrangers. Today some guy appologised for fleeing when i attacked him! -

There is absolutely nothing in zonal pvp that can get even slightly close to the fun of pentad, or for that matter, even three man 3vp.

Thats your opinion, I like the thrill of the hunt you get in zonal pvp. -

Unfortunately MaX seems right, compared to powers from primary , the presence pool powers are poo.
[/ QUOTE ]Well, not entirely right, provoke is a fairly useful power.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm.. on a dominator?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well if Arctic Air and Chilling Embrace dont grab the agro you need provoke dont you? How else do you keep the agfro on you?
[/ QUOTE ]
I use it on my blaster. Its situational but a good power to have. -

Terrify is an AWESOME power, it's a very large cone, decent debuff, long duration fear, nice recharge and good AoE damge. Invoke panic? That's just [censored]
[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately MaX seems right, compared to powers from primary , the presence pool powers are poo. I was thinking of having this 'master of fear' dominator with PP intimidate and invoke panic, good thing they handed out that freespec
[/ QUOTE ]
I was thinking the same thing, or at least get enough fears going to keep them still while i stack on "real" holds. -
Been wondering if there's any huge difference between terrify in mind and invoke panic in the presence pools. Is terrify more potent, or have we been shafted? It already seems that the sturdy toons can control a squishy easier than a troller/dom can control them. (through stuns etc).
-
I'm gonna respec my mind dom as well, but maybe not for a few more levels. The main issue I have is my travel power in pvp. I picked flight, might change that to leaping, gonna miss air sup though

I am thinking then that random dice roll idea is best, if you're a stalker you can get closer than anyone else before the dice roll though. But do you make the roll like every 10/15seconds or only 1 roll?
[/ QUOTE ]
i really dont like the random idea.
BTW. mordheim was best -
[ QUOTE ]
stalker were design to kill ppl from shadows when you take that element out what the point of playing stalker if everyong can see stalker from 1 mile away simple. Plus they do not have the hp to fight like scrapers.
[/ QUOTE ]
By that logic they could design an AT called the pwnzor (if you target it you get perma-killed), then be unable to change it cos of the original design and concept.
The whole stalker thing prolly has more to do with the survivability of squishies than stalkers though. They arent that much worse than scrappers, just more frustrating cos you can run away from a scrapper when you see him. -
[ QUOTE ]
In my oppinion, Stalkers (in general) in thier present incarnation are in the most part, 'beardy'.
[/ QUOTE ]
I like that term
btw. Skaven FTW :P -

nm. i thought it had more info in it than what it actually did. I thought it was like a sort weekly pvp diary thing. -
When I made my necro/dark I though I was picking an unusual set as well
Agree that they can be difficult to manage, i tend to order them to attack, follow me, attack, so they are up close for my heal.
