Thank you for sharing your build, Hatred666. I like it. In your experience, does softcapping for S/L/E outweigh having Permahasten? It appears that with my recharge, I will be able to cycle Fire Blast and Blaze for an uninterrupted ST chain which seems rather valuable for hard targets. With Consume slotted as is, I don't expect endurance to be much of an issue.
Regarding Acrobatics, I took it for the Mag 2 Hold protection as well as the resistance. In practice, is this worthwhile? I see disagreement on the forums, but my experience has me being mezzed only on rare occasions.
Regarding RoF vs. Fire Breath, which is more damaging? I will not be able to acquire Web Envelope for quite some time, and I have no issues with scatter at present. -
I guess that I had always associated Web Envelope with Web Grenade - which I believe is single target - and gave it no further thought. Having researched it further, I agree that it should be included. This is the new build. Web Envelope has replaced Fire Sword.

Greetings, all!
I have recently returned to the game and am re-rolling my Fire/Fire blaster. So far he has been much more fun this time around, but I am curious about the later game. As it stands, he is 23 and using common IOs. When he reaches 27, I plan to splurge on level 30 sets to take advantage of bonuses on my way to 50. Below is my projected build. How do you all think it will fare in the later game? Are there any recommendations that you would like to share? Thank you for your input!

Thank you for the suggestions, Obitus. I like the revisions a lot. On a side note, does anyone know why Spinning Strike takes Ranged AoE enhancements instead of PBAoE? I haven't played the set yet, but I assumed the attack would be more like FSC than Fireball.

I dropped Physical Perfection and Conserve Power in favor of Fast Healing and Focused Accuracy. The latter was done to take care of the underslotted accuracy of Initial Strike and Rib Breaker. Obitus made a good point about PP being superfluous, and FH made a dramatic impact on my passive regeneration. I've shifted some slots around to acquire more E/NE defense and am just shy of the softcap. I've left the procs in because even though they may not fire often in the ST attacks, I have to imagine that they'll fire at least once per Hasten cycle. The whole reason that I put them in was to make Hasten perma. Perhaps someone better at math than I can show this assumption to be true or false. The one thing that I know for certain about this build is that I need more slots.

I thought it looked to good to be true. I'll attempt to acquire the other defenses; but, would you recommend keeping the procs or only one of them?

I downloaded the new version of Mids' yesterday and designed a StJ/WP Scrapper. I noticed that there were a lot of knockback powers so I threw in some Force Feedback procs for giggles. According to Mids', if I get all three to activate at once, I get 400% global recharge. I've left the build as is because I don't know how often the procs will fire in actual play; but, I really like the idea of Hasten on a 90 second timer. Below is the build. Any suggestions or comments on the excessive recharge?

How would I go about softcapping S/L? I'm a bit tired from school and all, but I'm not seeing the appropriate sets that will give me the bonuses necessary. With Thunderstrike and such, I can see the possibility for going after Ranged defense. What am I missing?

Greetings, Fellow Blaster Enthusiasts!
I am in the process of developing a new Fire/Fire Blaster, and I am looking for advice. It will be an IO build where price is no object. There are three avenues which I am considering:
a) Build for high recharge.
b) Try to softcap defense.
c) Both.
I foresee great difficulty in option C. As for A and B, my gut is telling me to do for defense. I tend to play Scrappers, and high defense has served me well in that regard. On the other hand, I have heard that with a Fire/Fire, recharge may be a better option as my primary means of mitigation is to kill quickly lest I be killed.
I would be primarily soloing with this guy, periodically starting a team for the purpose of TFs and such. Which course would you all recommend? Further, which powers would be most beneficial to the recommended route? Builds would be appreciated, but are not necessary. -
Ol' MacDonald is a SS/FA. I'll see if I can get my hands on some procs. I messed up yesterday when I hit the ticket cap and rolled on a bunch of useless junk.

Intriguing. I was reading in the thread where I got my farm that people were having issues after hitting 22. If I do stick with the lowbie map, or even switch to yours, then would I even be able to utilize the procs? Will they fire if I'm exemped down to 1? That would be pretty sweet.

I've been reading a few threads in here about farming with a Brute, and I've decided to roll up one of my own. I took Ol' MacDonald into a lowbie farm created by A Man In Black and brought him up to 20. My main question is twofold: when can I move to a "real" farm, and how tricked out do I need to be while I level? My goal is to power level this guy to fifty, and use him to funnel money back to my alts on blueside. Any advice would be most appreciated. -
Thank you for the input, New Dawn. I suppose that I got it into my head somehow that Tactics, six-slotted with GSFC, did better on average than Build Up. How many slots should Build Up be assigned for best results?

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Scrapper Forum!
I have decided to try out the Electric Melee and Electric Armor sets. Below is my preliminary build. I will be primarily soloing, with Task Forces and Trials sprinkled in for flavor. I am rather pleased with this build but for one thing. I am looking to squeeze in some more recharge so that Hasten and Energize are permanent. Ideally, I would like to achieve this without sacrifice. However, I would be happy to see it with as little loss of survivability as possible. Obviously, if there are any glaring errors in power picks or slotting, I am open to correction.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have been working on the Task Force Commander Accolade, and I have come upon an interesting question. After completing the Numina Task Force, I will be running the Eden Trial. According to the Paragon wiki, this Trial offers either seven Reward Merits or a Titan Origin enhancement. My question is this: ought I take the Merits or the enhancement? I know that Hamidon Origin enhancements can fetch a hefty price on the market; but, does anyone buy Titan Origin enhancements? Seven Merits aren't much of a prize, and I am trying to outfit a character. What say the market gurus? -

I have just completed a respec trial with my new defender, and I am looking for some advice on his new build. He is a Rad/Rad. My play style is rather aggressive and tends to put me in the middle of the spawn. I am currently fighting on +0/x3 difficulty, and I would like to take it even further. Money is no object when it comes to the build. This may sound like a rather noobish question: Where did my Telepad go?
I bought the salvage and I crafted the Basic Telepad, but I cannot find it under the Place Item menu. This is my first attempt at building a base that is more than a closet for salvage. What am I missing? -
Gentlemen,
I thank you once again for your assistance. The debate over Melee vs. S/L Defense is intriguing. I did not think that I would be able to get as high of a Defense rate with S/L as you have done. Further, it seemed that much of the Fire Secondary required one to be in Melee range, thus making the Melee Defense even more attractive. Unfortunately, I do not think that I can bring myself to switch over to Cold Mastery for concept reasons. I should have mentioned that in the beginning. My apologies. That being said, I have a few responses regarding Melee Defense and my neglecting both Build Up and Aim.
It seems that my weakness to Ranged attacks will not be to difficult to surmount if I properly leverage Hot Feet and Blazing Aura (i.e. I jump into the middle of a spawn with both toggles running and huck a Fireball). In my experience, they will be feared by HF and begin to slowly run away, only to be drawn back in by BA and further AoE carnage. I do not think that I have ever run into a situation where my prey flees and does not come rushing back for more. Further, the current build has about 23% S/L Defense already, as well as nearly 50% S/L Resistance. It occurs to me, then, that what Ranged attacks do come in will face reasonable mitigation by virtue of the S/L Defense and Resistance.
As far as my neglect of Build Up and Aim, it was done with purpose. With both Build Up and Aim activated, the build WarronPeace has shown me outdamages mine by an average of about 60 damage per attack (discounting HF and BA). When they are down, mine outdamages his by an average of about 100 damage per attack (discounting the same). In addition, Build Up and Aim only give an extra 20 points of To-Hit Buff over my running Tactics. Since the benefits of Build Up and Aim are only available for 10 of every 30 seconds, I decided that the constant benefits from running Tactics and my choice of slotting was far more beneficial than the burst of buffage from Build Up and its brother.
Finally, the synergy of the Fire/Fire combo seems to rely heavily on my being in melee. The two PBAoEs, FSC, and FS can only be used effectively in melee. I bring this up in response to the assertion that I don't have much to do in melee that I cannot do at range. These four powers and Blaze appear to be the backbone of my damage output. Blaze is the only one that is useful at range; yet, it has only has half the range as Fire Blast!
I do not wish to appear ungrateful. I truly appreciate the time you two put into helping me, and I will consider your suggestions further. The above responses are merely my initial reactions. Perhaps further discussion and contemplation will cause me to reconsider. -

Below is a modified build for my first character, my beloved Fire Blaster. He has been quite fun, but inadequate for my play style. I have adjusted his build to complement my scrapper-like tendencies, and I was wondering if you thought that this new build would be viable. The goal is to get as close as I can to the Melee softcap, acquire decent resistances to the most common damage types, while not sacrificing what the archetype does best. Thank you for your suggestions, ClawsandEffect. I fear that I must admit my ignorance in that I assumed that the sets would offer essentially the same enhancement values and would only substantially differ in their bonuses - hence the choosing of Eradication over Multistrike. I notice that my Mids' numbers appear to be slightly higher in many regards with my first build. However, the addition of Hasten combined with the de-gimping of Siphon Life appear to make yours the better build. Once again, I thank you for your assistance.
