It wasn't a name purge (names on inactive accounts for characters under 6th level were flagged as available...meaning that the name wasn't removed from the character unless someone with an active account claimed the name). Oh, I knew what I was stepping into...that's why I was thinking there was a sliver of a chance that I might be able to help with the smoothing over process. It appears I overestimated my capabilities...

I have a *huge* respect for LJ, that's why I went up to bat for him. His respect is well earned...he's kind, talented and generous with his art. I'm just disappointed that there are many folks involved that aren't taking the high road. And am sad to know that someone that I respect and know who could be a great contribution will likely never return to this community that I enjoy from afar and have such a deep respect for.

But yeah, you're right...I butted my nose in where it didn't belong. Sorry, I can't help but be compelled to try to be a peacekeeper...it's part of my personality. I'll remove said nose, move along and stop pestering everybody involved.

You guys say that TJ is more than welcome here...but then post stuff like this. I just have to say that these comments (and comments like them) just don't go over very well and doesn't help mend any bridges. I have a huge respect for this community...even though I don't post in these parts much, I felt so strongly positive about this community that I went up to bat for you guys. You guys have *no* idea how hard I've been working behind the scenes since last night to try to help smooth things over, or at the very least get LJ recognition and a thank you. This unfortunately just erased all the work I put in and all the positive things I've been saying about the art community.

Yes the above may be "just a joke," but comes off as rather catty, snarky and like you are indeed having fun at someone else's expense. I know someone will make the comment that TJ just "can't take a joke"...but it's only a joke if *everyone* is laughing. Not everyone is laughing folks. Yes, TJ came off as abrasive, but an eye for an eye just makes the whole world blind.

Sorry to LJ for not getting you the thank you that you so incredibly deserve. And to TJ for not being successful in my attempts to smooth things over to the point that the catty comments would stop.
