I'm concerned that his beard is manly enough to grow through his mask.
(note: this isn't a comment on the art, it's a comment on the weird costume options ingame.)
Also: fabulous as always, Mr. Bobby.

yourrrrr wayyyyyy too nice LJ
<3
that is all i'll say on the matter in your thread
LJ is one of the nicest, coolest, most awesome people in the world!
In regards to TJ, I am told he deleted the apology notice for his thread via my private message, and have had no response from my note as per DA.
So I guess I am going to be kept waiting indefinitely on this one for his reaction... kind of ironic. lololol
Anyway, whaddyagonnado? On to more pressing matters...
I appreciate all the support folks, and now back to our regularly scheduled hulabaloo...
Apparently TJ is still pissed soley at me? I got this message on DA just now from someone who seems to know him:
~lormsby 38 minutes 34 seconds ago guess it didnt matter to you that he said he didnt want it kinda like when he said he wasnt posting in your forum anymore and you called him out with a thread anyway must be easy to make him out as a joke to make you feel better if it were me and someone said they didn't want me drawing their character i wouldnt do it |
"Actually I never called him out, and he didn't ever say not to draw his character.
Our misunderstanding was my rushing him for a thank you when he had posted he would reply later.
I have already apologized for that profusely, and colored the original piece of gift art as a peace offering. That's all I'm guilty of... others in the original thread were much harsher to him.
But I'm not trying to force him to do anything he doesn't want.
I just thought if he gave the COH art boards another try, he might enjoy them. As for making him out as a joke, I can't be blamed if someone finds a pun directed at his cowboy character not funny. It wasn't meant maliciously, I actually do want him to return. Otherwise I would not have colored the piece.
Since you seem to know him, all I can say, again is that I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, and would ask him to humbly give me a second chance. I didn't call him out in a new thread to make him feel bad. I just wanted him to get the colored piece, which I've already sent to him on here.
I can't really understand the not wanting free art part, but to each their own.
Also, if he wants me to take down either the original drawing, thread or colored piece, he just has to say so."
I'm getting very close to washing my hands of this, can't say I'm sorry anymore. For the record I am posting this here so that people can see I've been more than reasonable. Now I'm getting flack from people who know him? Okay... whatever.
If he wants to stay mad, that's his choice, I'm off to draw Airhead.
He's always been the one that was being unreasonable. Not worth worrying about.
I will just add my voice to those commending you for making such an effort, LJ! From where I stand it seems that you have gone above and beyond what could be expected of you. Seems to me that if one doesn't like gift art they can just say thank you and ignore it. His repsonse seems rather out of line. Heck, I wouldn't even care if they put my character in a tutu...I wouldn't frame that work, but I'd still say thank you and appreciate that someone was inspired by my character.
(Author's Caveat: I'm an LJ fan, and currently have an LJ piece as my computer background).

I haven't spoken to TJ but what I know of him is that he doesn't like "drama" and he will walk away (like he did) letting everyone know he will no longer talk about that subject (like he did) instead of letting it get worst. So this whole thread is a call out (you did put his name in the subject ) and he will not (from what I know of him) come here and answer since he said he wouldn't. Out of principle ...
So, we can all keep talking about it but that is all we are doing.
Just my point of view ...

LJ I have always found you to be a pleasure to work with, and even in gift art you work with ppl to make them as pleased with the gift as you are, so if this person chooses to be childish I say let him. I will continue to enjoy the many art pieces you post and keep adding to my DA favs from that. His loss on a GREAT artist if he chooses to continue this high-school game of " I'm not listening, I'm not talking to you"

Probably would have phrased it slightly differently but...yeah, what Suichiro said.
On the art, I like how the colors came out on that piece Bobby. Cool gift art.
As for the situation I too would prefer TJ came back (and told him so in exchanged PM's) and I think the thread he started became,
over time, a useful resource that several people learned stuff from, but if he doesn't enjoy being a part of board drama, well I can see that.
Now I just need to figure out how to get LJ to insultz meh an stuffz... then after he feelz all guiltified (tm) I can haz sum free gift artz nao!
Well I got a second lengthy reply, and once again I apologized for the umpteenth time to him and his friend. At this point, I'm going to follow Thornster's advice and stop talking about it. It's kind of hard to be diplomatic talking to yourself.
Come back Shane, come back...
now you folks be nice, or you're bound to scare him away...
