I would tell you but I don't want to break the forums. -

Rest assured that if anyone makes fun of you for not having a picture, they will be subject to the forum's wrath and derision, not you.

That's where you are wrong. People without pictures just plain shouldn't be in the forums. Buncha no avatar losers is what they are. -
It will install if the game is already present so long as you install it to a different directory. In fact you can copy the entire coh directory to a different location, copy the updater to your desktop, then run the updater and point it at the new directory.
-
That will teach me not to just scroll down past the CoHHelper as a change of pace. Those 01/01/0001 driver dates point to the driver installation being corrupted. Try reinstalling making sure that you first uninstall the old drivers then use Driversweeper to make sure you've cleaned them out completely.

If you are never going to progress beyond level 1 then it's all about preventing your opponents from attacking back. MA scrapper can give you a stun attack. AR or Energy blaster can give you a knockdown/back. Controller can give you a hold.
I've wanted to try this myself and may just do it since I just freed up a bunch of character slots by deleting old alts in preparation for Going Rogue. -
Personally I prefer using the squid form. It's like a blaster on steroids... steroids that make you more vulnerable to damage though.

Ratings do not matter at all unless you are doing it for the tickets and because you want to see your mission get a lot of action. If you want it to remain at the top of the heap and get lots of plays there is one and only one certain solution. Make it a 1 mission arc with a simple map.
Those are the missions that see the highest number of plays regardless of if they are good or bad. -
Something I've used is a technique for making an entire map free of enemies. Loading the maximum number of destructible objects with no guards can take up all the available enemy space.

I'm a big fan of chained objectives. For example in one of my missions you have to get the "code" to open a computerized vault. The code is retrieved by kidnapping a hostage (i.e a rescue) that then spawns the glowie (a safe).
Of course opening the safe spawns the end boss. It's a nice way to control the story events somewhat. Thus keeping people from skipping through the mission and heading straight for the end boss.

I hate this type of chained objective if it's not done the right way. Not because it's a terrible thing overall but because it kills my immersion. I've been through a room or hallway before and there was nothing there. Then I kidnap somebody and suddenly I notice a huge obelisk or tech doodad sitting in the middle of the floor. Now I have actually used this kind of chain in a mission I'm working on but I made it a whiteboard in an office map. That way it's something that somebody might legitimately overlooked on their first time through. Other examples would be file cabinets or trashcans or else crates in warehouse maps. I suppose a safe would be reasonable too if it were some kind of wall safe. -
Well, FX was actually born on November second but his birthday is out of sync with the calendar.
Or on a more truthful explanatory note. He spends most of his time in the tech forums so it's the logical place to catch him. -
It's not a waste of time. You have just pointed out that in certain cases relogging can fix a failed respec problem.

You have a North American account, otherwise you would not be able to post here.
This is just from a vague memory but currently I don't believe there are any trial accounts available for the EU version except through the "invite a friend" program.
The first thing you can attempt is just to remove the .eu from the filenames. Once upon a time long ago this would work perfectly but I don't know if it does any more.
If that doesn't work then I would suggest going Here and downloading cohupdater.exe file. Delete the executable files and the checksum from your city of heroes directory. Then run the cohupdater.exe from your desktop and point it at the directory that your current city of heroes is installed in. You have to run it from the desktop otherwise it will try to overwrite itself and fail. If things work out correctly then running it should wind up just having to download the updater and executables and then verify everything else. I could be wrong but that's likely to be the quickest method of getting the NA version set up since the two are almost identical.
Once you are in game then post here and I'm sure you can get yourself a partner to show you the ropes. The CoH community is a friendly and helpful one. -
Check the files in your game directory. The most common cause of this is installing the European version and having a North American account or vice versa.
The names of the executable files for the NA client are cityofheroes.exe and cohupdater.exe. For the EU client they are cityofheroes.eu.exe and cohupdater.eu.exe. -
Although if the trojan is on your system in the first place that means you probably downloaded it as an executable file that you thought was something else. It's probably still on your system just waiting for you to use it again so it can reinstall itself.

I'm sure somebody will be here with the usual suggestions soon so I'll try something different this time. The freezing every 3 seconds or so is more often due to net lag from some process on your computer or another on your netword that is checking something either in the system or via net every few seconds.
In game type /netgraph 1 and watch your graph at the bottom right. It should be all short green lawn. Watch for red, yellow, or even green spikes coinciding with the times that you freeze.
To turn it off type /netgraph 0 -
If you have any Big Lots stores in your area check them out. You can often find box editions of CoH there for $10 or less. And there are all of the edition types with the exception of the Mac or Architect editions.
I've padded my account with all of the extra goodies that come with the various boxes that way. -
Ventures arcs are ok, but they strike me like episodes of Law and Order. Well enough written but so mundane as to be a bit dull, at least to me.
I don't care if a tofu on white bread sandwich is lovingly cut out into the shape of a duck and then the details of the duck are painted on with food coloring with such skill that it actually closely resembles a real duck. In the end it's still just tofu on white bread. -
I used to be a loading cursor. But then I got a faster computer and stopped feeling the need to curse every time I zoned.

Two additions.
First: Checking the safe mode box before you continue into the game will put your settings to the absolute minimum. Then once in the game you can gradually adjust your settings upward till you find a point at which the game is playable.
Second: This game is much much much more processor and video intensive than WoW and Warhammer. There are very few things on the market period that will put greater stress on the system. Crysis is at about the same level as this game on maximum settings. -

Built two missions. Both were full boss spawns, made for me and a few friends. Both had DETAILED storylines within, both had lots of comedy, glowies, triggered ambushes with more comedy, all custom built toons. They were made for my friends and I------------- and not large AE farming teams.
None had foul words, none replicated anything outside of the game. Cottain Tails and Warface clones were the two missions.
So how on earth did they get nerfed? If someone gets a hair up their butt and plays my mission and decides it is too much of a farm (without taking the time to listen to the content) and report it............ it gets banned for being a farm? This is a serious question and I think there is a balance here.
Where is our ability to protest their comment (which never came my way btw) I GOT ZERO feedback whoever did that.
Honestly I guess I dont know where the fine line is, and I feel like I just wasted MANY hours making two fun missions.

Assumptions assumptions assumptions.
First of all if your mission was banned then it would still show up in your published missions list and would have a nice big tag by it which would explain why it was banned.
Now as to the actual supposedly "nerfed" missions. The rabbit mission is still there. I wouldn't exactly call it a detailed story line but it isn't a farm either. Like I said though, it's still there.
As for the Warface clone one it's still there as well but not playable. Most likely you used one of the maps that the devs pulled from the architect because it had spawn location issues. -
