I'm playing and it freezes every 3-5 seconds for half a sec. Cov's Minimum settings makes it barely noticable. Any advice on how to fix this?---System information gathered by CoH Helper version 0.1.1.7---

I'm sure somebody will be here with the usual suggestions soon so I'll try something different this time. The freezing every 3 seconds or so is more often due to net lag from some process on your computer or another on your netword that is checking something either in the system or via net every few seconds.

In game type /netgraph 1 and watch your graph at the bottom right. It should be all short green lawn. Watch for red, yellow, or even green spikes coinciding with the times that you freeze.

To turn it off type /netgraph 0

No, theres no red in the net graph except at the very begining of it and it didn't happen again. The freezing happens worse on the char select screen when I rotate him.

Just a suggestion from a non-geek, all of your drivers look really, really old. Have you tried updating them?

That will teach me not to just scroll down past the CoHHelper as a change of pace. Those 01/01/0001 driver dates point to the driver installation being corrupted. Try reinstalling making sure that you first uninstall the old drivers then use Driversweeper to make sure you've cleaned them out completely.

After getting a clean installation of your video and audio drivers, since you are running an ATI card follow the recommendations in the first post in BillZBubba's ATI Issues and Settings Recommendations thread stickied in this forum.

On a quick pass through your settings I saw several that will cause definite problems. Start with the recommendations in that thread and then as you get to where you are running stable for a week or so of regular playing, then you can start tweaking some of the settings up slightly (one at a time, very small increments) to see if you can get a bit more out of the game.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Thanks everyone for the assistance. Its still the same on char select but in game is alot better. I do have an unrelated question though. My graphics card ATI Radeon HD 4350 is a Directx 10 card. would it work better in vista with directx 10 or xp with dx9?

Won't matter in Co*, it's an OpenGL game.

If you're playing a DX game... The DX10 will make it prettier and stuff, mostly in a lot of different little ways (more detailed leaves, smoke, reflections, etc), but may slow it down in frames, compared to the DX9, depending on what you have turned on. but that's all theoretical math and logical stuff, and will definitely depend on the game you're playing.

/YMMV.
