The canon lore is conflicted about times also. There was a post discussing timeline conflicts about DA a few months. Even the NPCs in DA talk about events even more current than 40s. Since they are supposed to be souls/spirits of folks from the time DA went dark, it is a big zone plot hole.

I had to use the "Browse" feature to unzip it into the right folder. Just using the info from TS didn't work for me. It kept installing into the temporary folder for my browser. When I "Browse"d the folder it was installed. Didn't have to do any 'super geek' regedit stuff.

Well the only suggestion I have is the server channels.
For that, just put in one channel for each server and set the permissions for those channels low enough for folks to make subchannels just for their session, I.E. Man From AUNTIE's Tin Mage TF, should work if TS3 is like TS2. I use to host a server for my SG and coalition 3 or more years ago and that is how I had the server set up. Took a few days with some test subjects, er I mean, SGmates to get the permissions right, but afterwards, folks like having the ability to customize a channel to their liking. -
Very cool thing you've done for us players Tri. Just downloaded the client and fooled around with it to get the settings right. Really cool thing, about the only thing I can see needed is server channels.

Moved in with my GF-my desktop is upstairs-GF doesn't climb stairs-my laptop crashes with I play. I have to beg and plead to play for a hour or two once a week when she is up, or I get a hour or two of sleep and sneak up there while she is sleeping. GF aggro ain't fun.

I was watching raw videos of the tsunamis and couldn't believe my eyes.
I just hope that the nuclear reactors that were shutdown haven't been damaged, that is the last thing the Japanese need on top of this disaster. -
[NPC] Servant: (Muffled voice).
[NPC] Servant: (Muffled question)?
[NPC] Servant: (Muffled exclamation)! -
Yeah the names for the first to ain't to original but I was in a hurry to get into the new zones.
Praetorian Lass in my Loyalist. Praetorian Lad is my Resistance. Been trying to run both arcs with these two and the next 2 will be my Benedicts. -
Quote:Yeah, when I have my morality missions for both factions I have to sit and think what would they do. I so love this part of GR. I wish it was up and running years ago. I so hope it gets ported over to CoH/V in the future. If not, then that Praetria gets expanded some more.
... when you actually take a moment to THINK about what you've just seen or read.... -
Quote:Yeah what he said.In my early days (late i3),
- There was no "cooperative mission" completion. If you had the same mission as someone else on the team, the team did it twice.
- There were no villains, no PvP zones, no arenas, no universities, no markets, no Day Jobs, and no flashback system.
- There was a difficulty system, but it had many fewer options than what exists now, all with names that you had to learn like a code.
- Because of the sidekicking rules explained above, it was easy to get stuck in situations where you were routinely fighting +6's, often with suboptimal enhancements. I vividly remember the second Task Force I ever ran, where every single thing on the Task Force was purple, and I did a grand total of 10 damage (as a level 28ish tank) to minions with a fully-slotted attack, the two or three times I managed to connect.
- The i0 task forces, Moonfire, and Hess were the only ones available, aside from the Trials. No one had them memorized, as most people seem to today, making not just today's "speed runs" but even "moderately paced runs" impossible. My first TF ever (Synapse) took six and a half straight hours to complete.
- There was no combining of inspirations, which made the death runs through the Hollows and Perez Park even worse. I remember trying to get one level 6 character to a door in Four Seasons and dying ten times over before giving up.
- Debt seriously and significantly slowed down leveling, especially at high levels. Debt was not halved for dying inside a mission, and there was no such thing as patrol xp.
- Kheldians took extra damage from most attacks. They were supposed to make up for this by teaming. Playing one was considered prestigious (though people still complained about them the way they do today). They didn't have their own story arcs. Those were added in i4 with no fanfare whatsoever.
- Faultline was a hazard zone with DEEP chasms. Some could not be escaped without flight, teleport, or superjumping. The area behind the dam was blocked off but visible; people used to periodically get under the map to try to look at it.
- Arachnos was directly mentioned in only one place in the game (Maestro's bio) and was called SPIDER.
- Supergroup bases (and prestige) didn't exist.
- Some Rikti didn't wear clothes.
- The Council was new. (The Fifth Column had been written out of the game at the beginning of i3.)
- All player character weapons and powers looked the same.
- There were no friendly combat NPC's in missions. (This may be viewed as a positive if you're thinking of Fusionette or Lady Jane.)
- Enemy spawns of mixed factions couldn't fight each other (except in the Council/5th Column "war" that began i3). The most they could do was the "punch each other" emote. (Hostile factions were added in i5, in Croatoa.)
- Moving to i4, once the Global Defense Reduction (yes, they actually called it that) was announced, everyone was certain the game would be either instantly emptied or become unplayably difficult.
- Geko, rather than Castle, ran the devs' Powers team. Geko did not post on the forums, read PM's, or consider player opinions as anything more than the ravings of depraved ape-creatures.
- In fact, I believe Positron, Geko, Archon Voss, and Jack "Statesman" Emmert were the only devs with rednames on the fora at the time.
- Some people still liked Statesman and would praise his ideas.
- Fly gave you a large Accuracy debuff.
Okay, that's all for now. -
I haven't seen anyone that is new. The lowest vet badge I saw was 9 months and that was yesterday morning when I was by Praetor White.
-
Quote:That I so agree with. Hell, on Protector I even saw a character lounging <SPI?> in the pool by Praetor Duncan.Agree completely, loving the story arcs and story. Have spent more hours on it then I intended also
Also lots of respect to Paragon Studios for adding great RP elements to the game, and also for not dumbing it down which seems to be the route a lot of other games are going at the moment. -
Yeah, I leaned back in my chair and almost hit my puter and monitor as I laughed and went, "YES YES YES".
Sorry but since Red Dawn came out when I was in HS most 'kids' don't understand what "Wolverines!" means. Or I just don't know many 'kids'. Whatevah. -
-
I had a dialogue one in the patient zero arc.
Resistance dude 1: Wolverines!
Resistance dude 2: Really?
Resistance dude 2: Wolverines?
I had to back up out of aggro range and laugh and pump my fists to the devs over the Red Dawn reference. Still smile about it. -
Is there a time frame that the screen shot needs to be in? I.E. screen shots from 5 years ago?

Quote:TridentBoyIts ok, his name has to be spoken two more times before he will be able to escape the darkness and emerge back into the City.

Happy Badge day -
Well, first it was the Freedom SG First Responders then the villian version. Then we did a pirate themed SG and VG on Virtue. After VEATs it was a VEAT VG but right now not much going on. Hardly see anyone on anymore, I know Demi came back and he should still be in Wolfchat. When I get home* so I can play I will see if I can catch ya on.
*Been away from home for the past month over at the GF's....ACK just got aggro, got to run... -
Hey Dar, the Wolvers are still around, just not as many as RL has bitten many in the rump.
The SG actually moved to Virtue, Freedom was even too much for Wolfen. -
Got my highest level from 45.01 to 49.7 when I got serious with some friends sunday. Made the .7 in the last 20 minutes of it as I did a Orebanga mission. Then the last 5 minutes of it, got the Tome of Pers*something*one, made it to AP and was at the City Hall doors when I got booted.
