    Demagogue!!!

Then I may have the wrong building entirely. But I'm 73% certain.

    Edit: From Badge-Hunter:

    Badge Info:
Villain: Log off in Arachnos Building (Marconeville) for 21 days to earn this badge.
Benefit: Influence Bonus upon mission complete.

Villain Badge Text: You spend your free time spreading Arachnos Propaganda to better manipulate and placate the masses of the Rogue Isles earning you the Demagogue Day Job. Logging out in the Arachnos Building in Marconeville will earn you an Infamy bonus, upon each mission completion, for a short time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Make sure you're in Marconeville, I suppose.

    Demagogue!!!

Perhaps a map of Port Oakes would help?

The building is marked as #1 (with a little house icon) and/or the Super Group Registrar (marked with a Hospital icon for some reason) about dead center on the map.
  3. That is bloody brilliant.

    I must try harder now
  4. I was working up an AR/Storm guide, but Industrial beat me to it.

    It's an excellent guide.
  5. A fantastic guide to what is without a doubt an odd duck of a set combination. Very solid power info, and excellent tactics. Bravo.

My own AR/Storm is just 36 right now, but she is quite a monster. I have long experience with both AR and Storm, on both sides of the bay, and this pairing surprised even me.

A few additional notes that I would proffer:

Freezing Rain: You note the non-stacking nature of the defense debuff. While this is true and tragic, one sunny spot is that any target that enters at any time will be affected. That is, even if a mob wanders into the FR patch in the 15th second, just before it despawns, they will still be hit by the debuff for the FULL duration. The effects vary, but that means that the mob will be slowed for up to 30 seconds after the patch has evaporated.

O2 Boost: You mention that it cures sleeps and disorients. There is a very specific use I enjoy: Snapping people out of the drunk walk after an Awaken. Some people forget that that is a Disorient effect, just like any other, and can be cured instantly. No standing around, waiting for the chance to rest, or worse, trying to drunk walk away while a fight is raging, wondering when that next AoE is going to drop you again. A small boon, but I find it's one people are pleasantly surprised by.

I applaud you, Industrial, an excellent guide overall. Saves me from having to write one a dozen levels from now

I would encourage those interested to try this truly "thinking man's" combination. Cones and Storm as a whole are far and away some of the more challenging concepts to leverage effectively in this game. It becomes less about button-mashing and more about which power will give you a tactical advantage at that moment.

Steam Rifle Scarlet (AR/Storm, Freedom Server) approves of this guide

[u]Movement (and now Recharge!) Protection for Temperature Protection[u]

    1. Did it for kicks, seemed like the right thing to do at the moment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Glad we finally have confirmation that it's recharge protection also. But ah... just for the hell of it? Hearing that made me want to cry.

Edit: First Post after Redname... by complete accident.
  8. EDIT: Scooped by Rodion, but I still want answers!!!

Matt Miller: <snip>And in addition, one of the things we're doing is we're getting rid of the Base Salvage out of the game, because a lot of the players were getting confused with the Invention Salvage, since they both get the same kind of message. Players get excited when they get Invention Salvage, and then they get disappointed when they find out it was only Base Salvage, especially if they don't have a supergroup or their supergroup doesn't really need the Base Salvage any more. So what we're going to do is we're going to get rid of the Base Salvage, and just make everything that's currently craftable in the bases from salvage, craftable through that Invention Salvage as well.

Massively: So is that going to make turrets and other raid items for bases easier to get?

    Matt Miller: Oh yeah. Absolutely.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If this means we'll now be able to craft base items with Invention Salvage, the Market is going to go nuts.

Plus, does this mean we finally get SG invention salvage storage??? Or are the base storage items we currently have just going to evaporate?

And are the hundreds of pieces and components we have saved up in our bins going to evaporate?

I saw nothing about "converting", unless you're talking about the ridiculous conversion rates at the workbenches.
  9. It's out. Just bought mine.

Only 3 more hours till I can go home and enjoy it
  10. Short term future.
    As in, later today.
  11. Awesome KA, thanks.

My eyes aren't bleeding anymore, and the detail really stands out now.

JLove scores again, that detail is fantastic. Kinda disappointed that the Head Detail 2-1 is basically exactly like Vanguard 2, but, the rest of the awesome completely eclipses that
  12. Well done KA, very well done.

    Gold stars for you.

The colors though... think my eyes are bleeding
  13. The reason for not branching is as different as the player that's making the choice. It's like asking why did you choose a VEAT over a regular AT? Why'd you pick that particular rifle skin? Why did you put on that particular pair of socks this morning?

It's all about choice. The Huntsman, as Aisynia describes him, is the "gun-toting badass" of the Arachnos world. Bane is the stealthy melee badass. Crab is the crazy arms of death, ranged/melee/mm/imnotreallysurewhatiam badass. Each one appeals to different people.

Just as some people play for concept, others play for statistical optimization. It's all about what you're into.

After trying Crab, Bane and Huntsman on Test, I went with Huntsman. It seemed the coolest. That's me.

Why do I feel im getting slapped in the face again for buying something that becomes free later on......

Have you ever actually been slapped in the face?

    Point: Sadako.

So what are the people that paid more for getting both coh/cov going to get for ponying up the extra money.....

Why do I feel im getting slapped in the face again for buying something that becomes free later on......

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really don't understand this logic. You got how many Issues and how many years of play out of it? That whole $40 or whatever, spread out over hundreds of hours of play and possibly years of gaming? That's a slap in the face?

    Can I have your stuff?
  16. [ QUOTE ]
can i have my money back that i paid for cov then?? cause this is kinda a slap in the face for those of us that bought cov.

and this is pretty much the same ol promises that we've been hearing. how about doing something to prove them, how about getting these supposed 3 issues a year out for once. we've had 1 in a years time and its getting quite boring.

sorry if i seem doubtful that this announcement means anything, but so far its the same announcement that was made before. talk is cheap in this world .

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, that took 4 pages. The trolls are slow today

Edit: Also, this is not the same announcement. The former one was a one time only, hey if you've got one, here have the other deal. This is for everyone who buys any version of the game, forever and ever. Much more gooder.

I'm a little worried that making all the other powersets more balanced will make defenders less useful. Because defenders are there to cover the holes the other powersets can't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't believe that to be necessarily true. Defenders are there to augment the other AT's, either through the judicious use of buffs, or the speedy application of debuffs, or through keeping them alive longer with heals or helping them to defeat the enemy with added damage. They are not simply "hole-fillers".
