Even with Hami's failure to cooperate, it was more fun than a barrel full of Rikti monkeys. Thanks again for taking the lead, Steele!

Got my swim trunks standing by! Incidentally, will there be any lifeguards on duty? If not, I can volunteer the Major to make sure everyone stays safe (though I may have to switch to Plus Size at some point so she can strut her stuff in the sun, too).

First off, welcome back! Secondly, yes, the game is still very solo-friendly, so you can wait to look for a SG until you're good and ready. Of course, if AC needs a little extra trash-talking muscle power, give the Major a call; he'd be happy to team up again.

I'd love to get in on this, too. I've tanked it many times on the Major (Inv/SS, loaded with set bonuses to get Psi Resist up around 30%), but it's been a while since I did one, so I may need pointing in the right direction on some of the twisty-turny maps. I never mind taking time or dying with a good group, so I'm game for as many trial runs as it takes.
Edit: Eastern time zone here, as well. I can devote lots of time in the evenings (after 7-ish), and pretty much all day on weekends (with breaks to feed/walk dogs). -

Welcome to the game and to the server! I look forward to running into you in-game.

I'll have some dinner, then either pop in a Record of Lodoss War DVD or grab a random Agatha Christie novel off the bookcase and start re-reading it.

*Pulls thread out of the grave, dusts it off*
Cowboy, have you rolled your main on Virtue yet (I know you mentioned in another thread that you were just waiting for i16 to go live)? If so, I have a new alt that may be looking him up: a hulking reptilian tanker/ranch hand named Western Diamondback. -
Now if someone would just make a VG full of geriatric bank robbers, you'd be all set! Hmm, I can see it now: the bank doors blow open, and in wheels the Scooter Looter, followed by her cohort the Walker Stalker!

The Major hardly ever sets foot in the D (aside from Christmas time) for the same reason: he's just not the club-going type. Now, maybe if there were a nice 50s-era nightclub ... you know, black tie, grand piano, crooner covering Sinatra songs ...

Quote:If the Major ever runs into any overly-intrusive psychics (which, due to sheer luck, he hasn't so far), I figure he'll just start a never-ending loop of "The Good Ship Lolipop" in his head.As to people RPing intrusive psychics... yeah, its crass and rude. The way i deal with it ranges from my other psychic characters going GET. THE F. OUT to people realising they were being spied on and leaving, to a character just thinking completely banal thoughts. Dry cleaning, shopping lists, etc.

It looks like my super-speedster is going to have to wait, since I can't seem to tear myself away from the Major's new Super Strength animations. You'd think that after a day and a half, the novelty would wear off, but I just keep running around punching things and grinning from ear to ear.

First order of business will be turning off the toggle lightshow for the Major (oh, how I have waited for no FX options). After that, there will be several rounds of tweaking colors on other alts, and then I may try an elec/elec (or elec/sr) scrapper to fit a super-speedster character concept I've been throwing around forever.

Now, class, does anyone want to volunteer to show us an example of ERP?
...
Anybody?

Anybody?
You -- in the back there...))
ERP!!! *Ahem* Pardon ...
Oh, and welcome to town, Cowboy. Hope to run into you sometime. -
Quote:What really boggles my mind is when someone uses text-esque abbreviations in speech. I was walking through a store a couple months back, and I actually heard someone say "btw." Now, it wasn't the fact that they used an abbreviation that intrigued me, so much as it was the fact that they used that particular abbreviation, which takes longer to say than the "long" form. That makes me sad if someone ACTUALLY put in applications for things in 1337.
(Incidentally, I have the same reaction to the use of "GSW" instead of "gunshot wound" in medical dramas. Stop wasting time with those two extra syllables -- or one, if you're a "dubya"-er -- while the patient's trying to bleed out on us!) -

Hmm, I like that idea. I nominate Galaxy City or King's Row, since they're friendly to low-level players (and aren't Atlas Park).

I'm always ready for a light/casual/whatever-you-want-to-call-it RP team, so feel free to look me up on the Major or any of my other alts (@Major James Ashe).

In addition to all the other great possibilities mentioned (Rikti invasion, Faultline, etc.), I'd like to see a mission in which the villain/artifact/clue/objective has been sent back to the time of the Outbreak. That way, in the course of completing the mission, the hero could beat on some Contaminated and get the Isolator badge (which would be a nice treat for all those older badge-hunting characters who lie awake at night fretting over the empty spot in their collections ... not that it bothers me at all ...).
