Long ago I claimed a small island off the coast of Talos as my own secluded hideaway. Has a nice little lagoon and interesting rock outcroppings.
I can sit on the beach and look out over the sunset, with the city far in the distance. Very peaceful!

Also the lakehouse in Perez has been the spot of a few pool parties in the past.

I particularly enjoy standing on the hill overlooking the epic fight between Eochai and Jack in Croatoa.

Well, let's say this Thread represents the normal amount of psychokinetic trolling in the New York area. Based on this morning's Flamewar, it would be a Thread... thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds.

What I'm wondering now is do we need to learn to live with it or what?

I'm finding it more of a pain to use and just not even bothering at the moment.
When I get a valuable drop like Karma +KB I'll pop it on but otherwise I'm selling everything at vendors and I've stopped even thinking about
IOing my 50's.

So, what I'm wondering is, are the Devs aware of the discord? Are there plans to change the UI to make it more intuitive sometime down the line
OR Do we just need to suck it up and adapt?

Personally I'm hoping it gets improved before GR hits.

Blue and White (designed before I knew the colors of energy blast) with the Peak pattern and a hood. Kinda hard to tell though.

I like to take my level 50 Energy Blaster to Atlas and do the ol Power Push into the globe routine. Always good for a few laughs.

I like to take my Empathy defender to the ceiling and drop right beside Miss Liberty, hitting absorb pain as I do to commit suicide.
Always gets a few gaffahs.


I have a toon who's bio has him being a Big Game documentary maker.
He's searched out every GM in the game to 'research them in their natural enviroment' Which means I find them and study them for a bit, take some pics and leave them be.
That toon has a pic with him doing /e clipboard and the GM behind him for all GM's blueside with the exception of Hami.
Best pic was the battle with Eochai and Jack. Right as I clicked the pic a bunch of witches launched electricity at me. Made the scene that much cooler.

Playing to a particular concept, even when not the best path. My fire/ice Blaster was constructed by the council for instance. He now makes it a point to seek out and destroy all council members.

Going on Patrol with my PCSAR avatar Capt. Biohazrd. Flying around Atlas and the Hollows, nailing the heal right before the level 4 below me dies.
Following a level 4 Blaster around as he plows through purple after purple with me buffing him into godmode. Surprising a team of Sewer runners by following them through buffing and healing as needed is always fun.

If they were off by the smallest of margins the entire atmosphere would've burned off!
Granted this isn't a mothership and it isn't 'sucking' the oxygen away.
Still, taken out of context and with the clip ending before going back to the surface, it kinda looks like they're just sucking it into space.

I thought with the new boards came the new feature of using the same password as you use to enter the game and these boards.

Agreed. I can understand why this was done years ago when PvP was introduced but it's kind of a moot point by now. I think it would be great if instead of having to seek them out, just to click and ignore, why not change it to be a pop up like we have when a new contact is unlocked?
You could have all the needed info in one little box.

Thats what it was. I'd mapped it to Shift long long ago on my main. Hadn't used it since then.

When I rolled up my Fire/Ice I was originally going to avoid RoF because of all the hate associated with it in teams.
Tanks and scrappers will hate the scatter is all I heard.

Well, I was lucky enough to have Ice Patch so I went ahead and took it, to help with soloing before Blaze.
Ice Patch plus RoF works some wonders. While thats keeping them busy a few well placed Fireballs/Breath and most groups melt. Only had a few teams mention not using it, once they realized I'd only use it with a patch down they were cool with it.
I was insta-kicked by a moronic tank once, simple because he saw it in my build. We hadn't even entered the mission yet.
Thankfully thats rare and more based on their stupidity than anything else.
My Eng/Eng blaster always caught more flack, mostly before any fighting took place. As once it did they'd shut up when I used it to help them instead of frustrate.

Anyways. Rain of Fire.
I used it quite a bit when levelling up. It was dropped from my 50 build though for lack of use at higher levels.

Not sure about the change but I feel your pain.

Lately I've discovered the joy that is end of arc bonuses so I've started trying to get arcs as much as I can.
The other night I made a huge mistake though.

At level 14 on my new scrapper, I went and talked to Athena Currie and started her arc.

Good gravy! This lady wants to send me all over creation just for some stupid clockwork nests... Between all the hunt missions and being sent from Steel to Perez to all points between I just gave up and went back to radios. I'll drop a mission from her every 3 days until her book is gone.
Really makes me wish the entire contact tree on Blueside would be reworked.

Well the other night, after seeing this thread, I noticed an interesting toon so I took some screenies.

Apparently in my old age I've forgotten how to take screenies with the UI visible. I thought it was Shift+Prntscn. I'm guessing it's not as I now see the pics don't have a name.

Anyways he was a Granite Tank waiting to do a Posi on Virtue.
His name was Tankin' for Granite.

They removed the pop-up decline box at the request of players who were being annoyed with it from what I've heard.

Back when the Safeguards were introduced, the buffs granted by them all came with FX. I personally hated the FX of the movement buff as it ruined the immersion on some concepts.
I found that if I right clicked the buff icon and hit delete it would remove the buff entirely.
Not sure if this would apply to Mystic Fortune too but it's worth a try.

COV contacts guide - For when you feel like being evil. This is the easiest to use guide I've found for redside. Haven't found a counterpart for Blue yet.

Congratulations on picking a Blaster! I'll echo what others have said. IMO it's the best class to start with as it teaches the fundamentals while still being fun. You'll learn how to manage aggro and when to attack much better from day one on a Blaster than you would on a Scrapper. Simply because you HAVE to.
One word of warning though. Once you do get used to being a Blaster it might be hard to switch AT's. Going to anything other than Scrapper is going to feel very weak comparatively and Scrappers can tend to feel like the game on easy mode, from a Blasters perspective anyways.

Small threadjack but related to titles.

I hit 17 on a new scrapper last night and realized it still gave me the option to set title.

Since I'd picked my title at 15 out of habit, I thought I might have forgotten to accept it.
Checked my name and sure enough it showed the title.

Yet the trainer is still giving me the option to change it.
AFAIK it used to be locked out until level 30.
Once you picked it at 15 your stuck with it for 15 more levels.

Is this a new feature or a bug?

Maybe I'm just really sentimental but I rarely, rarely delete any toon.

The 3rd toon I rolled was a Invul/SS tank
He got to level 2 and was shelved. When I found out I disliked not doing damage.
He hasn't been logged in in well over 4 years. Won't delete him though because he's got a great concept and well... He represents my
'innocence' with the game.

I've got severe Altitis. Therefor, I'm generally playing 3 or 4 toons in phases.
Right now I'm working on a new scrapper a Brute and a MM.
Just depends on what I'm in the mood for at the moment.
So it's not uncommon for me to roll up a toon, get to level 5 and then not return to them for months. They sit and wait.

I only delete when I have no choice
Virtue and Infinity are my servers of choice and they are full.
I'll delete only when I hate the combo/concept. Even then it's only if they are below level 20.

Major points to Obsidius for his Onion analogy. So simple yet dead on.

I think the problem was our targetting reticle would've been too large.

Always made me wish they'd just make his face targetable. But I guess that would give the melee group a problem.

Still holding out hope we'll see him and the Nemesis Horse at some point though!
