Um, I though it always worked that way.
My Necro/Dark was made before the switch and I was shocked when I hit level 16 mid mission, then resummoned my zombies and viola! I had a new third minion!
Unless your talking about the level they con to you, that's something I've never even paid attention to. -
These days I kinda look the other way whenever I hear/See the word Vampire.
Even trying to talk about the classics is impossible without somebody pronouncing their undying love for 'That which won't be named.'
It's a shame. But on the up side, when all this passes I won't have to wait for the complete series! -
The Epic Archetype Unlocked cue is still bugged for me though.
Everytime I level to 20 I get the message. Even though I unlocked them years ago.
I've taken 4 toons out of Praetoria so far and I get the message each time.
Small little annoyance though. -
I say we employ the Betty White technique.
Lets start a Facebook page specifically geared to get you your dream job.
With enough supporters on a FB page anything is possible apparently. -
Sort of.
You've got to level to 20. So if you have any toons at 19 your in luck, just level to 20 and then train. Viola!
They'll unlock for you the next time you train someone past 20.
Oh and Welcome Back! -
Perception.
Sometimes it's laughable how predictable it is.
Last night I was rolling along on my level 22 Brute, showing my friend the awesome Protean arc. He'd never seen COH before and I was showing him various things. After the arc I took a radio and let him sit at the controls for a mission or two. Doing my best to get him hooked.
So there he is rolling along without trouble, asking questions here and there. Then he saw that the inspiration tab was red. I explained that it was full and he opened it up and asked what various ones did.
He popped a few reds and enjoyed the bit of extra damage (one of them was tier2)
Then he asked what the yellow one did.
I laughed and told him "It makes you miss on your next attack"
He laughed and said "Why?"
I said, well actually it increases your accuracy for a short time...
but the 1st attack is gonna miss I promise.
Sure enough he popped the yellow and Whiff! Next attack hits, then Whiff.
"Well that one's useless." He laughed.
Perception. It's a killer. -

I haven't been on any of my high level alts lately but I did notice it felt slower on my level 21.
Checking the #'s showed that Sprint+Ninjarun was actually 5mph faster than 3 slotted fly. Granted thats 2 DO's and a Blessing though so that might change with SO's. -
Fire/Ice is still to this day the fastest Blaster I've reached 50 on. Mostly solo to boot.
The damage is amazing. Great AOE from the start. Good ST chain as well.
The real beauty comes from /Ice though, making this one of the more durable builds I've played.
Shiver and Ice Patch are the two mainstays.
However...
I would advise not taking Chilling Embrace as you won't be in melee much with this combo. Also I'd avoid the Tier9 in /Ice as your AOE's will make the sleep pointless.
Otherwise enjoy! Pairing Rain of Fire and IP with Fireball and FireBreath in the Hollows = great fun!
Can't vouch for the other 2 as I haven't tried them yet.
Just saw that your Fire/Ice is in Praetoria so no Hollows. However I will mention that Fire/Ice and Eng/Eng are the only two sets I'm willing to play again. Making Praetorian versions to take Redside! Currently my new fire/ice is loving the underground! It's my very own slaughterhouse. -
Despite all my efforts to utilize Hurricane as a positioning tool on my MM in the end I just gave up and specced it out. My Bots/Storm was doing much better before I tried to adapt to using it. I thought about keeping it as a Get off me power but in the end decided the Leadership pool was more appealing.
My Storm/Elec defender on the other hand LOVES Hurricane. Then again he's using it as a buffer for the backrow squishies. (Back when I used to team)
Only other use I've found for it was on a concept toon that use's it in conjecture with Fly. Being that he rides the wind. -
You do know how broken PvP in this game is right?
Not only that, while being 'in character' for resistance and Loyalist to
go at each other. In Praetoria things are... restricted.
There is no way Cole would allow Powers Division to run rampant in the streets openly using powers around citizens without authorization from a Praetor.
Maybe in the underground but not in the Magisterium(sp)
But besides that, PvP is horrible in this game. When the most powerful attack chain is Flurry+Jump kick+Air Sup. then you'd have a lot of new players wondering why their high damage blast isn't doing anything.
Lets not even mention DR or Suppresion shall we. -
I just delete stacks of useless junk whenever I get full, so I have room for the more valueable junk. I generally only bother to sell at WW for the badges and then it's always listed at 1 Inf. just for lulz.

Teamed or Solo?
My 1st choice would be Fire/Ice Blaster.
You get great AOE damage
You get decent ST damage
You get loads of utility from /Ice
Shiver is a wonderful power on Blasters, Ice Patch is as well. -
Because they find it fun.
Thats valid enough since this is a video game.
>_>

I for one am not interested at all.
I don't bother with min/max. I barely even dabble with IO sets.
This just sounds like purples to me so I'm not really seeing this as 'Endgame' material. Unless they intend to increase the settings to allow
+8X10 or some such all I see is a bunch of overpowered incarnates with nothing to beat on because it's all grey to them, power wise.
But I'm not going to complain about something I have little interest in. Just stating that I'm Meh about it. -
I feel your pain there. Back in 2005 I tried to get an ex of mine into gaming. She seemed really interested after getting hooked on watching me play FFX.
Problem was, she'd never...never even picked up a controller, let alone tried to play a game with a keyboard.
So I busted out the still working SNES and popped in Mario All-stars. I figured she needed a good foundation to build on. Learning the basics and then moving up.
She gave up after falling into the first pit and or being killed by touching the 1st goomba over 50 times in a row.
My patience was strong, yet after an hour of trying to show her how to hold B and still hit A only to have her run headlong into walls and pits I gave up.
She lacked even the most basic hand eye training. The timing we gamers take for granted was beyond her immediate grasp. Now I'm sure with practice she could've got better but the level of frustration was quickly eroding any 'enjoyment' she'd imagined having. At 23 she was past the 'learning' age and was unwilling to work on it.
Years later I bumped into her and found out she was a WoW addict now...
My mistake. I should have taught her how to play COH instead of Mario.
My thinking was the 2 button controller would be easier to pick up than the WASD system. Since she was raised typing on a keyboard though it was far easier for her to pick up on. Not to mention the lack of timing that was needed.
Oh well, live and learn. -
Quote:Saw the premier episode and it's pretty good. There are of course some super power things that just don't make sense since unlike Heroes they were going for an entertainment rather than authenticity feel. Overall though I enjoyed it and will continue to watch it.
*****SPOILER*****
The super power thing that bugged me most involves the Michael Chiklis character. His power is super strength and nigh invulnerability. His wife has super speed, he doesn't. But he can catch bullets.
Well, in my mind if you actually had Super Strength by default you would have increased speed in your reflexes. Simply because your strength allows you to propel your arm at near Super Speed.
So while true super speed wouldn't be possible for him, the catching bullets part could be explained as just quick reflexes due to increased muscle tension. -
I'd like a mash-up of The most interesting man in Praetoria with a bit
of "Look at your man, now back at me, I'm on a horse" thrown in for taste.
Also, Caligdoiel, what on Earth is that picture? Looks like Big Brothers Eye or something. -
Ha, wouldn't that just be it.
Forget the LHC destroying the world, the real end comes when Wes and GG get hitched...
In all seriousness though. Farewell, may the future be as bright as the past.
Oh and remember, we'll still have free re-activation weekends so this is merely a retirement. You can still come sightsee from time to time.
Fare the well Hero. -
What confuses me is they take all that time, yet end up making them look like just regular old ads slapped onto the building. Most passer-bys wouldn't even realize it's painted.

War Witch TF in Dark Astoria please!!
Also, can you give us something to do in Boomtown other than stare at Babbage? I love that zone but it's just so pointless now that hazard zones have lost the appeal.
Zoning into Boom for the 1st time and walking out the gate to see all the ruined skyscrapers still stands in my mind as one of the coolest gaming moments ever. -
Quote:Somehow, the year Surge came out, someone was able to talk our principal into putting a vending machine near the bandroom...Sigh ... I still miss Surge. Vault's just not quite the same ... and I can't find it easily around here anymore either.
I'd drink 2 a day back then. Anymore than that and I'd be sick as a dog though.
Ah memories! I didn't even notice they stopped making it. -
Thank you Michelle! Wonderful as always.
I really liked the quick clip of the "The sun never sets on Praetoria" Billboard with the beautiful sunset in the background. Nicely done.
