    The Boot Myth

Years ago, before enhancement diversification, I had a blaster come up to me, out of the blue, and chew me out for not having Perma-Hasten on my Empath. He vowed he would never ever team with me because he demands Perma-RA from his buffers.

My win, really. Always nice when douchbags make the courtesy to identify themselves right up front. Makes for a more robust /ignore list.

I've seen more people booted (and booted them myself) for just being bad players, regardless of build or AT. AFKers. People that trash talk their own teammates. People that brag endlessly (well, I usually let them stay, since then tend to faceplant alot, and that is hilarious.)
I won't tolerate people being mean or exploitive to their teammates. Newbs, and even n00bs, however I like, if they're patient enough and willing to learn.

    Worst Miss Tells

Gawd, that was awkward.

Did almost the same exact thing. Was on a mid-30s mixed PuG. I can't remember the tank's powerset, but she could not hold aggro worth a damn. No Taunt, no taunting aura power. After my third helping of cold floor, I was starting to get annoyed, so I composed this gem to the team leader, who I was friendly with:

"This tank SUCKS. She has no Taunt, and can't manage aggro worth a damn! Watta n00b!"

Which I accidently sent to the Tank in question. Like the jackass I am.

she sent this tell back: :-(

    I promptly logged in shame.

I would SO play red-side more if it had orphan-punching missions. Your first mission from Burke should involve gluing cats in trees or lining crosswalks with landmines for little old ladies. >:-)
  5. New content, and by that I mean specifically:
    New events
Zombie and Rikti invasions are a nice start, but they are really pretty much the same thing. More giant monster attacks, building fires, Outbreaks in non-haz zones, temporal anomalies (dinosaurs, anyone?), etc etc.
    New mission styles
Not just a redecoration- new styles of objectives. I want to rescue/capture a teammate that's been turned into a monster. I want to BE turned into a monster. I want to be miniaturized to fight nanobots in the President's bloodstream. I fight to do battle with my own inner demons in a coma dreamscape. I want to unravel the mystery of why everyone in Steel Canyon has turned into a GORILLA. [EDIT - not collectively one singular gorilla. That would be just silly.]
Okay, so maybe its crackers, but comics book heroes have faced all kinds of demented weirdness and oddities. And I want to as well.
    CHOICES
    Yes, CHOOOOICES.
Not just "do I use the medium punch or the heavy punch?" Decision trees that effect mission archs. Enemies that might hate or align with me based on my origin. Or powerset. Do I arrest that boss, or get him to work with me? Gain an ally or a potential Judas? Go in guns blazing or undercover (hey, a use for souvenirs!)? Lead the hostage out or let them fend for themselves? Confiscate the Superdine or TAKE the superdine for myself? Work with the cops, or defy them? Align with factions or against them? Break my treaty with the Malta and fight them along side my team, or break ranks, join the Malta and turn an ordinary door mission into a PvP slaughterhouse
the kind of things that would actually encourage REAL Roleplaying. Not just cutesy keybinds and wardrobe changes, but making decisions in a hero or villains career based on who I feel they are. Having actually free will and consequences would breath a whole new layer of depth and replay value to the game.

Yeah, it would be a lot of work. And coding. And testing.

    better get crackin'!

It's pretty nice. Soul Drain + Shield Charge is essentially a crashless Nuke. The only downside is they're not both recharged for every mob. Pretty much because you are tearing though mobs so fast.

    fire/rad

Fire/Rad is to Fire/Kin what Tanker is to Scrapper. Less damage, more survivability and crowd control.

My Fire/Rad is my favorite toon, hands down. She felt fun and powerful right out of the gate.

There is something incredibly badass about taking the Alpha from an 8-man spawn, locking them down before they take their second step, topping off the poor wittle scrapper that got in over his head, and then buffing your teammate with OMFG kill power.

    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/smug

smug adj. Exhibiting or feeling great or offensive satisfaction with oneself or with one's situation; self-righteously complacent.
  11. I dusted off my 45 Earth/Storm last night, and I think I fell in love with him all over again. The combo has so many synergies and stackable effects. Two AoE Knockdown powers. Two slows. Two stuns (three if you take Fissure!) And ways to debuff just about anything and everything that is debuffable.

It works really well on a team, once you get the hand of the various effects. I kept hoping for an ambush or for the team to aggro a second or third mob just to give me a challenge!

The other fun aspect is that since you're dropping alot of location-based effeects and powers, like Earthquake, Freezing Rain, Lightning storm, etc, Hurricane is a really fun way to bully mobs into your effects.
  12. I love the idea of Tankers... the idea that you can render an enemy powerless by tricking them into attacking a target they cannot hurt (in theory.) In play, they just feel so... dull. I was on a Trick or Treat team with a Invul/SS tank I was messing around with (mid 20s). I had to go AFK, so I targeted through the scrapper and set Taunt to autofire. And my tank performed his role, if not perfectly, well enough for the rest of the team to perform theirs. Sad.

Mind trollers. I love love LOVE controllers, but I despise Mind controllers. I can't even recall how many times I've sat down with a concept & name ready to finally give Mind a shot and then I read the powers list and give up in disgust.

Kheldians. I HAAAAATE Knockback. Every time I see a Kheld scatter a nicely packed mob, I think of that Stuart character from Mad TV-- "Look what I can do! Look what i can do!"
  13. Hachi Ronin, my fat little bumblebee samurai:

I was once a knight to one of the Great Hives, loyal servant and concubine to the Glorious Queen herself. My illicit tryst with a peasant worker destroyed all of that, and I was cast out, my honey spoiled and my offspring slaughtered.

A knight without master is a low thing. A pitiable thing. All that I can do- and hope for- is that some gesture of heroism, some epic deed might win back the favor of my Queen and the respect of my Hive. I haven't found it yet. I might never.

Fear and despair are not yokes my people have ever labored under, and I am no different. With the tip of my sword as my compass, I will find my way back into Grace.

In Capcom VS Street Fighter, one of MM's supers was to turn into this huge Gundam-esque version of himself and uncork a million missles. Might be a fun costume right before you Nova.

Or-- I have no idea if MM ever did this, but it's an old anime/video game standard-- an all-gold powered up version of your normal costume. Save it just for when you level up, and only wear it for as long as the buffs last.

Oh and the arms and hands were FAR too big and needed tweaking from the initial one (usually arm shortenened and hand reduced in size) otherwise you looked like a human/gorilla crossbreed.
Elder Scrolls Oblivion had this problem. Just freestyling with the sliders, it was VERY hard to come up with something that didn't look like an Ugly Stick pinata. However, the player base was clever enough to develop some tools that could generate data you could manually input to create certain faces, even your own.

Like any freedom, it brings more chances of WIN and increased likelihood of FAIL.

An on a completely unrelated note- enough with the horns. And the headbands. And the cape broaches. I've got half a dozen options for a decent robot face/helmet, but 45 options for that speck of crap on my shoulder when I wear a cape.

IIRC, there was one slider for physique. The other sliders, like Hips, legs, chest, and the head sliders all came later.

Personally, I'd like to see a wider variation on the sliders, at least in that you could make very very thin, almost skeletal characters, or really really fat characters.

Also, get rid of the sexism for costume parts. If I want to make a woman with a cigar, or a dude in fishnets, let me.
  22. Thanks LM! I'll cook up a build tonight.

i was also thinking of pulling the Chance for Negative damage from RI. It pulses very infrequently.

I was thinking of dropping Smoke for Psinado, just to get some DPS back. Looks like you find the slots to make that idea worthwhile!
  23. So after some tweaking and soul searching, this is what I settled on. Not quite the recharge of Panzer's build, but I can't bring myself to take powers just for the LotG's. I use every power in my tray and then some. Shaving out even a few of those powers would take my enjoyment of the build with them.

Regardless, comments of course always welcome.

I don't have PsiNado on my Fire/Rad (yet) but if its anything like the Blaster version, it is KnockUP, not KnockBACK. It's DoT, too, and the animation can be annoyingly long-- it's the same "alley-oop" animation as Flashfire.

    Fire/Rad Help

I would work on getting Stamina by 20. Choking Cloud and Hot Feet without Stamina will tap you out quite fast. And even with Stamina, running Leadership toggles may be too much of a drain, but it may depend on your play style. I tend to be click happy, and that's hard on the blue bar.

I'd skip Stealth for Smoke, unless you're using it to mule an IO. Also, I'm not sure if it will stack, but you could add the Celerity +Stealth IO to SS.

EMP is a VERY useful hold, the ideal Oh shi-! panic button. Fallout, while very situational, can turn bad situations into good ones, and it is very fun!

RotP is an interesting choice. Someone around here actually had a suicide build that relied on RotP as part of its attack chain.

Take Fire Shield. It can and will save your life. All those times you get whaled into the red, realize that if you didn't have it, you'd be floor pie.
