Not if all parties understand that griefing is part of it. I mean there's no way around it if they did implement something of that nature. Not really one sided either unless the other team is built specifically for annoyance rather than fighting. I'd personally jump into the frey everyday until it was nerfed just to find a way to tick off hero players, just like a villain should.

Personally, I find you largely vapid, but that's hardly the worst thing you could be. I could also list a few people that have worst things to be >.> but I also think we all have our own roles and that you should just be yourself... I've been in quite a few social circumstances on both sides of the fence at one time or another and i've found that it really doesn't matter because people are going to hate/love you regardless of how you act and there will always be people on both sides of the fence.
Even us dull knives have a place in the kitchen.

btw, ''largely vapid'' is a bit of an overture, hun.

    Thanks, Coyote.

I come from WoW's Beta days thru today, so I'm not a softy when it comes to a mass majority mind-meld. I'm used to it, and have learned how to navigate veteran waters with ease. In honesty, with WoW there's more of a younger crowd so it's easier to place them on a shelf to gather dust, but I can tell I'm going to have to polish my thesaurus here. All the oldbies seemed to of gathered in CoH, and they have a pretty mean bite.

Good thing I have an endless supply of tough leather gloves, and a basket full of bait just for the occasion.
  6. What this game needs is a possibility for mission interruptions.

Make a mission that heroes run that Villains can join in at the ''worst'' possible time to complicate things. Or a ''betray'' option, or something fun that can spoil the mission. The villains will have to deal with not getting loot for doing it, and the heroes will have to take it all in stride.

Or make a trial like instance where 1/2 are heroes (4), and (4) are villains; enter on opposite sides and turn it into a PVP brawl with tasks on either side that are needed to be completed before a timer runs out, or something.

I also think villains being ushered towards heroism is a tad ridiculous.
  7. Just to air on the side of caution:

This is not a ''Dev convention'' set-up, it's a respondent to the idea spawned off the Dev's Summit. I was wondering, if the players had a choice, what area would be the best place to have a convention. To get a semi-good idea of where the highest population of CoH Players are.

    Okay.

I try not to step on TOO many toes but when I strongly believe in something, or strongly disagree with another person's subject I'm not going to pull punches. I don't see the point. On the plus side, the MPAA hates it.

Hacks like the HBGary Federal don't come about because of any "elite skills". They come about because of careless security protocol, automated attacks, and stupid users.
Before the digital vandals co-opted the term, "hacktivism" was about educating the public. Not breaking things. Not thuggery.
You should really see how it works and what the precautionary measures to assure not being caught are. Would you like a pastebin link to explain this method aside pre-made scripts that adventures into the deep use? I like your style and would hate for the party van to visit your house.

I actually approve of many of the things they do and why they do them, but I think it is absolutely absurd to assume they are responsible for any of this. I think Anonymous themselves would never claim to be the sole reason things get done, nor do I think they believe they are the most important reason. I'm not anti-anonymous by any stretch of the imagination, I just think they amount of actual power they wield is a little exaggerated and believed on a far too grandiose scale.

Like I said, cyberattacks on the Internet can only get you so far. The straw that broke the camels back for SOPA wasn't cyberattacks, if anything they used those things as further justification to push for SOPA/PIPA. The thing that truly pushed those bills off the table were the massive amounts of e-mails, letters, and phone calls from all sorts of people, many who weren't Anonymous, is what finally caused that, coupled with various protests.

Also, you clumping me with the hive-mind of CoH users is a little ridiculous. I absolutely abhor most of the people who frequent these forums and barely agree with any of them. You are being a little foolish if you think Anonymous deserves all, or even most of the credit for these things getting done. I'm sorry if you take offense to me trying to steal the limelight from Anonymous, but I live in reality, not cyberspace. In reality, Anonymous is not what gets **** done, the people who are doing things in reality, going out to protest and sticking their necks out there, are what get things done. Make no mistake about that.
Guess we'll agree to disagree then.

They are essentially giving the government an excuse to rally people against the "dangers" of a free internet, despite their intention being the opposite. Cyberattacks/terrorism/warfare/whatever can only do so much, if people actually want something done, it needs to be done in physical reality. We can't just sit around and hope somebody else will do it for us.
    I disagree, good sir. Lol.

Seriously though, Anon is and has been against SOPA/PIPA before they even had names or when it wasn't exactly known. There were so many hints from such an earlier time when the Government first made a move to silence websites. They met a brick wall.

A minor threat? Empty? Terrorism? Those words are in themselves incoherent, they do not do justice to what has actually been done in the past, and the operations launched on a much larger scale than you might think, or know. There's a lot of traffic from all over the world converging on one main forum or #, to discuss, plot, and derail subjugation.

You only think it's minor because thats how it will be displayed to the public eye, however when you attempt to view or go to certain pages run on a Government server you might find them taken down or slowed to a standstill. Not just one but hundreds of Government pages at once, simultaneously mind you. I see how the mass majority here see Anon as a whole, and what they think of their supporters, activist, and hacktivists . It's fine for you, and the hive-mind here to be against a set of ideals but to compare it with nativity is a little narrow sighted.

Until you've seen what is going on behind the scenes, the beautiful combination of DDoS, BotNets, PshyCaTTs, PhishTURs, and All Colored Hats uniting in one cause, setting aside lulzy ego flame wars and nuke boxing; all to give your ''physical'' paper trail the eyebrow it deserves, it's best to not call out against it with strong negativity. Especially if you don't know of the actual scale the offensive is set at. How many dedicate black box pushers to cause mayhem. It's not structureless anarchy, it's not random targets, it's not destroying mom & pop. There is a plan, each and every step of the way, spoke in multiple dialects, throughout dozens of other Countrys', from skype to Xbox to PS3 to PC to Forums to Friends to Family to Phones to Towers. It's all over. Everywhere. You may think it as minor but you're wrong. OH noes not on the internet! Yeah. On the Internet.

If you get the angle right, she'll walk in place without sliding to the left or right, and you can then observe the walk from all angles except the front.

When the walk first came out, I took some videos of it so I could watch what it did. I deleted them, but its doesn't take long to capture one that's doing what I describe above like so.

It is a very tough walk to reproduce. Good luck.

Thanks for that! I'm going to give it a try and see if I can't get some good feed. I have a nifty prog that lets me capture the animation and port it over with the figure and use points in animation to real time motion to scale it. I've been tinkering for awhile in making my own 3D models/animation. I'll see if I can't work it out through your methods or find a way to merge them.

    Theme Shows

Not sure if it's a theme but why not a '' How Music Evolved.. ''

Going through the ages, happy songs to jam out to. Moving from the 50s - 2000s? Maybe?

Or, go with the classic: '' Theme Music '' for shows, movies, video games. Meh.
  18. I started thinking about Meet And Greets with the whole summit thing the Devs are hosting. What was I pondering, Pinky? Why where the best place to hold one is.

So to get an idea, I'm coming to all of you.

    What Country, State, and City?

I would *think* the one with the best chances for attendance would win by the area with the mass majorities population, so just to see the demographic chart in action; what's your area of choice, and if you so feel free to divulge what City?

For me, ideally but not limited to would be:
    Washington State, US. City? Steilacoom/Spokane

    You?
  19. Someone more knowledgeable about the game than myself, which is probably everyone in some way or another. I teamed with a group who kept asking me questions about this and that due to me being 50 and I guess they thought I had all the answers. I explained I got there by soloing, and hadn't really branched out all that much. Team disbanded shortly after, we couldn't defeat this certain part of a mission and said anyone with a 50 should know the game.

Guess doing radio missions, some contacts, and lots of winter stuff to 50 isn't the ''right way'' to play. Lol.

Also, she could of been way sexier with a lot more buttkickery. She just didn't do it for me in this one.

Does no one know why they play female characters? |-:

Of course, many male players also play female characters exclusively, so the reverse isn't true.

How 'bout ye, female players? I skimmed the thread looking at the answers to that question, and there's an overwhelming preference for female characters. Care to share why you play female characters?
I can personally relate in a strange way to human looking female creations, and I mostly tend to stay in my own body limits as much as I can. Not always intended that way but I guess I like to have a normal-esque completion. I suppose being a woman and being all that I know how to be, it's just easier to flow with things rather than the idea of playing a male character.

Also, I am trying to learn the ''slow walk'' for the convention as I might be attending. That's a very sexy, seductive walk. Hard to get down. Hips have to sway just right, posture has to be spot on, and coordination as if on a catwalk must bridge with a natural seam of my figure. Not exactly an easy walk to get down but I'm trying. Once I got it beat to a science I'll be posting a youtube video for fun while also promoting the Cosplay Contest for COH I plan to host in the late spring/early summer.

I have seen the good that comes with the ''terrorism'' and it will prevail but everyone will believe it was democracy that saved the day without giving headway to those behind the scenes doing the taunting. I won't really go into it since Tony has most of your support (being your game, forums, yadda yadda) but I believe Anon is getting everything they deserve; including just desserts.
