Quote:If they don't also add in ponies, then I still will cry foulI completely agree. Being only able to take on four exotic damage archvillains at a time on a non-DM invul scrapper is quite pathetic and I'm hoping the devs will take care of this problematic issue soon. Raising the resistance cap to 90% and removing the crash from Unstoppable should be a good, first step.

Quote:Imagine if Crey was a more common Villianside Enemy, crey tank minions/LTs along with PPs! yay!I've had entire runs of Council missions where there were 2, maybe 3, non-robots (with their 50% lethal resistance) on the map. That accounts for Hoverbots, the 3 flavors of mark * bots - which aren't just minions - and then you still have the annoying puppies thrown in the mix, too, but at least they resist everything.
Council is not a neutral group for lethal in my opinion. Circle of Thorns, past level 40 when the ghosts stop showing up, Carnies, and... uhm...
...well, do you like cave maps? -
Quote:the -regen in DP is enhanceable (the only one in the game that is such)Blasters yes, DP is -250% -regen(Lingering is -500%, unless you include dominators, psionic assault's DP is -500%)
Also, the -res is
-20 for defenders
-15% for corruptors
-13% for blasters
The hard part is getting softcapped ranged defense AND perma DP(it requires around 130% global recharge including enhancements and hasten)
All that said, I think -250% regen combined with blaster base damage and defiance on top of the -13% res and having aim/build up(concentration) would be enough to kill a GM, but the build would be far more expensive than something you could put together with a defender/corruptor -
Just remember that some AVs have extra status protections on top of the Purple Triangles (cough cough states)

well the same stuff applies to the immoblize proc (one proc is hold the other is immoblize). He does use the tentacles, but it isnt realiable enough to warrent slotting much less using the proc.

Quote:He is talking about the Mire Nictus, not the healer one, Sunless Mire (that one that keeps damages people in a PBAoE around the nictus, you hear the WS power SFX when it activates while the healer use the TG SFX), is autohit, i have seen many SR and other pure defense toons die standing next to it thinking they are perfectly safe. The Healing Nictus are not auto-hit. An old tactic way back in the day, back when the ITF was new shiny, and people thought it hard, was to buff Defense up, and than the Healing Nictus would not be able to heal as much.
If you want to see this in action, just take a REALLY cruddy team to fight Rommy, and bring a toon that has Vengeance, or even better, PB Veng. Rommy will heal significantly less when Veng is active. -
It would work, but not very well considering that it only procs when DS casts petrifying gaze (which is very random) and since you cant increase his recharge, he doesnt use it that often. Really dont recommend it.

for drops, i run +0/x8, just streamrolls right through most spawn types
tried up to +3/x8, things slow down ALOT and but still doable, (need to be careful around malta tho >.>) Arachnos is suprisingly difficult at this setting, due to all the varied debuffs and damage types flying around.
All of this on my IOed Bot/Dark -
Quote:Actually after doing more research it looks like Ninjas are basically single target, although it seems the best single target I was wanting AoE so I guess I will need to go another route.
I was thinking either Bots/Storm or Bots/Dark
(I know it seems that most people think that thugs have the most aoe dmg, I can't see how this is possible when the arsonist is always dead lol) I leveled Thugs/Dark to 26 and yes it was decent, the arsonist was an idiot and died so many times I just stopped calling him back lol. If that punk would stay at range then god yes the dmg would be drastically improved. Any thoughts on this? Does the arsonist stay alive more higher up if you put your buffs out and then perhaps send in the brute and the T1s last?
Why are you comparing a set at 26(thugs) to a set at 32(bots), Most sets get all their AoEs with the 32 upgrade. -

Quote:Another main issue with extremely long duration buffs is that when you zone, the game loses ownership of buffs, and you can stack them again, normally this isn't a big deal, since a with the current design, the older set of buffs will wear out in a few minutes. If buffs were set to much longer durations, you could easily keep zoning to multi-stack buffs crazilyOkay, horrible spelling and writing in general, but i get what you're demanding. (i think. Some of the sentences in the OP parse as gibberish even on multiple passes.)
Not. Going. To. Happen.
First- You don't have to be a 'buff bot' and throw buffs on every valid target in sight. Only you are forcing yourself to do that.
Second- If buff durations were extended the buff values would have to be decreased to compensate. This would put buffers more in line with the long term buffs in many other MMO's. Which is to say far, far weaker. The majority of buffs do not stack from the same caster, so a 3% defense buff that needs to be renewed every hour is less desirable than a 25% defense buff that gets renewed every four minutes.
Third- Since most content can be completed in an hour or less with a skilled team it also enables the previously posted scenario of inviting buffer, getting buffs, then kicking them to get someone more useful. (Especially since you could then stack multiple buffs from all the buffers you invited and kicked.)
Arguments have been made for modestly extending the durations of some buffs in the past, especially some of the 90 second buffs, but an hour is so over the top that i have to wonder if you were at all serious.
There is a suggestions and ideas section of the forums. You should go post this there. -
and you have to have the recovery, to keep up that higher lvl of DPS for quite a awhile, having the DPS isnt enough if you cant sustain it for a long period of time.

Quote:They have already stated that they will have one side only content as well in order to give you a incentive to stay a pure hero or villain. As in you have to go all the way to one side to partake in whatever they design. What I actually AM curious about, and that's been brought up already, is if Vigilantes are Heroes++ an Rogues are villains++, what point would there be to being a pure hero or a pure villain. I take concept and story seriously, certainly, but a no-brainer choice in one direction does not seem like a good prospect. Especially when picking a Rogue/Vigilante will allow me to play with people from the entire server, whereas picking a Hero/Villain will only restrict me to one side. This seems kind of iffy.

Quote:Don't you know!? Its a current fad to complain about how the game is starting to look its age and that one of the selling points of its competitor is that it looks better! But then when the development teams decides to do something about that, its not worth it anymore and its a waste of time!!!Seriously, if graphics didn't matter, why aren't we all playing the MUD version of CoX?
We all know how that'd play, since we were shown it.
And this is why my faith in humanity was lost a long time ago. -

Echoing Silver, AVs go down pretty fast considering. Most of the time its that the main AV soloing combos completely shut down any regen from the AV, thus its all about killing the total hp, not the total hp + the health regened as the battle went on, like with ATs without a buff/debuff set.

and for people skimming over(and before people with low end system get heart attacks), the upgrade is OPTIONAL, its a setting you activate to add the "ultra graphics mode", so the basic requirements for the game will stay the about the same as we have now. -
The main real problem is that since overall VEATs have little to no appreciable DDR, they can easily succumb to defense cascade and become very vulnerable (besides the scaling res that widows have, and crabs have moderate res), and autohit -def (earth thorn casters) are murder.
-
that + taunt + BG Mode + passive res and patron res shield means that targets have to kill a target that has about 90% res(BG Mode isn't hit by DR) and a large self heal. (taunt keeps targets from killing your pets)
You have little offensive power besides what you pets dish out, so killing well-equipped players is difficult but the basic pvper will think that you are a squishy target. -
I agree with everyone else, Seeker Drones is almost a must take. The prot bots do have them, but they summon them randomly and they move very slowly, so they almost always get left behind.
Also you cant use the prot bot ones to take alphas, and stacking debuffs is always good
