Quote:Veteran Rewards: You get the badge, and you have the option to claim the reward. That's the voucher.
The certificate thing might be a side effect of the fact that currently, there is no way for an /ingame/ unlock to affect the entire account.
But maybe they didn't want to make new badges just to tie Incarnate rewards to them. -
Quote:403 ForbiddenOkay, finally had time to go do a bit of Search Fu and came up with the following pictures (courtesy of Sankaku Complex) that show Hitodama like what I was talking about before. Note that there's a lot of ... latitude ... in what can be done with these in terms of styling, and movement, even just in the anime/manga source art. They can either be "tethered" to characters (in which case there's often just two hanging around the shoulders), or can be free ranging (in which case, they're very will-o-the-wispy). They are however always shown as "fire" ... albeit a "ghostly flame" in appearance (ie. a dead person's soul).

P.S.: Upload the images to a hosting web and post them again -
Quote:To have a rocket nozzle attached to the belly doesn't look too comfy. What do you do when you have to duck and don't want to roast your legs?Like this? Power Xtreme!
I'd love to get a Centurions style costume change, even if I have very few characters that'd use it. I used to watch that cartoon all the time as a kid, so cheesy, so blatantly a toy commercial, so awesome. -
I was thinking: now that you seem to have found a way to change animations to powers, is it possible to change combat stances?
For example:
-
Quote:No ... the Wisps Aura (as you cite) is quite explicitly *NOT* what I'm asking for. That's a smoky puff-ball that goes shooting around through space. I'm talking about a hovering candle flame the size of your fist that animates as a flame (without the candle) and is positioned *over* the shoulders between jawline and ear height. That is most definitely *NOT* the Wisps Aura that we already have.
And just so you know, Tunnel Rat ... Hitodama flames for dead characters in anime have been animated, on more than one occasion, with only 2 frames so as to give minimal movement (and because it's cheaper). If you have any questions about this sort of thing, I'm *SURE* that someone on staff is enough of an anime fan to supply you with clips from anime to look at as reference for what I'm talking about. It's a fairly standard anime trope used as a cue to either indicate Death State ... or Depression so deep the character wishes they were dead.
P.S.: finding an example was harder than I though.
P.P.S.: another one I just found

Quote:That's for access the test server, what I want is to COPY one of my 50s.You need to load the US Test server.
Got into the NC Launcher properties and add this to the end of it (outside the " " makrs)
/LaunchGame=CohTest
Once thats run, it will install US test and update it. You then delete it from the launcher properties and, voila, you're set. -
Quote:No, the reflection seems a bug of the costume creator. It applies on all costume pieces even on live servers, but it seems that it's more remarkable on some textures (like the new faces).Oh good, I wasn't the first to spot that
Also, Zwill, the new faces look waxy, shiny and very very disturbing.
Wanna know why?
I think they are using reflections. I was twisting and turning them in the CC, and there was some sort of ripple effect that looked very like the reflection you get in metal. Might want to let the art team know before this goes life. It's very uncanny valley right now
Try it, just change the faces for some of the older ones. You'll notice the same "reflection effect", just more diffused.
Edit: BTW, still no access to the character copy tool for European servers -
-
Quote:I was going to post exactly those same bugs, plus one: the new faces have a bit of reflectiveness (at least in the costume creator). They look like they make of plastic (or something else), but not skin. These images were shot on a Male model, standard Athletic proportions:
http://infamousbrad.com/jacket-test-1.jpg
http://infamousbrad.com/jacket-test-2.jpg
Bug #1: The texture of the shirt sleeves doesn't even come close to matching any available texture for jackets OR the shirt that's showing underneath either of the vests.
Bug #2: There is a huge perceptible gap between the sleeves and the body, with all of the jackets and all of the vests.
Edit: OK, foget about that, it's some weird effect of the costume creator (praetorian side) making things reflective.
Edit 2: The assault rifle attack FX are misplaced, they draw too low.

Quote:Actually, the increase of CONSOLE videogame prices was at the 16bits -> 32bits change, mostly because the price were the same, but the cost of a CD (a layer of aluminium over a disc of plastic) was vastly lower than the cost of a cartridge (a bunch of circuits, transistors and -sometimes- flash memories).I was planning on making a post just like this until I read it. One thing to clarify though. Video game prices are almost all higher than they were 10 years ago. I don't know if they increased from the PS generation to the PS2 generation because I was quite young at the time, but as for the change from the PS2 to the PS3 generation, most games cost more now. Portable games cost $35 or higher now (unless the game in question totally sucks) as opposed to $30 like they were in the day of the game boy advance. PS3 and Xbox 360 games cost $60. Wii games still cost $50 like games did in the previous generation, but there are far fewer Wii games than PS3 and 360 ones. Not to mention that the Wii's technology isn't all that much better than the previous generation's, so it most likely costs about the same to make a Wii game........Anyways, to get to the topic at hand, the pack sounds awesome and I can already think of a few characters that could use parts from it. I agree that alternate animations for the /traps and /devices sets would be great. Maybe if we players mention it enough it will happen (hint hint, wink wink, nudge nudge). I also love the travel power, finally I have a way to justify why my "natural" character is somehow able to travel in ways that aren't possible for normal humans.

Quote:I just got an email from NCSoft with a link to the trailer on Youtube.
Loving the new costume change emote!

NCSOFT! HERE!! TAKE IT!!! NOW GIVE THE BOOSTER!!!! -
Kheldian auras for Kheldians, please.
And please, please, fix the eye auras for females. They anchor at the wrong height of the face (the cheeks):

I don't know why we have not these already. It's in the game, only needs a few tweaks to fit huge bodies and make it resizeable.
By the way, I really love the IDF costumes:
Specially:
- The pants: they look like the "Stripe 3" pattern but embossed, something like the Plus Patterns in the Wedding Pack
- The armour chest piece: it looks armoured but not so bulky like the Praetorian Police, maybe because the waist is tight. And it covers the neck, we need more neck pieces, sometimes it feels too exposed and the joint line it's too obvious. -

Stupid question:
Have the rewards already been granted? Because it's 24, I have logged and I see none. -

Quote:ATI 5850, 10.9, Win7 here, similar problem:I have a ATi XFX 5750 on the 10.9 drivers and after awhile playing CoH this happens.
Restarting CoH fixes the problem but it comes back after so long.
Its defo not an overheating problem as the gfx never goes over 60c.
Its a new Win 7 install with a new motherboard and memory has been checked with memtest.
Plenty of PSU power to (650W).
Anyone got any idea's ?
Some textures start to change randomly while I the camera moves.
The loading screen start to change to random textures while the loading bar progress.
(I think they change on refresh).
And, like you, not overheating (but I notice it goes worse on higher settings).
As far as I can tell, it only happens with CoH. I played other games more demanding and for longer periods and nothing happened. -
Quote:Just an advise: Next time use /demorecord to make a video of the part want to shoot without moving the camera. Then edit the file to change the exact in-game time of day and remove characters, then take the screen-shot. I did that with several of my entries.Congrats to all!
As Founders' Falls was the winning entry, I'd like to see what everyone submitted for this zone.
This was my entry…
[cool screen]
This took me 3 days and over 200 screen shots (that white line in the monorail only appears like that when the sun hits it just right for a few seconds every hour or so and there was a pesky mob I had to keep killing near the speedboat). And yes, I had just finished watching the Doctor Who "Don't Blink" episode when I started this.
Now, let's see yours!
P.D.: Man, the design of the hero screens it's exasperating. Pretty hard to fit some stuff in them because they are all rectangles (like the FF's obelisk plaza). Villain's are irregular and in different shapes and easier to find a row to fit the stuff you want. -
Well, the snow aura for eyes looks like if you're have pipes of snow machines in your socket eyes instead of eyeballs.
Creepy, funny and crazy at the same time.
Be amazed at the watch of the Snowator-3000!!!

Quote:I think is something like of CoV's Monkey Fight Club and CoH's disco. So where on the site do we have to go, i searched city of heroes, and design an NPC competition but i have found nothing about it D=
Also this NPC can be pretty much whatever, there are no specific guidelines as to what the NPC has to conform to right??
oh and could we have a little info on this studio 55 thing, wouldn't want to end up making a giant semi-mechanical werewolf if studio 55 is supposed to be a chocolate factory or something... -
Quote:4chan is a imageboard famous because most of the internet memes are born there (Also anyone can post without the need of create any account). To begin, I have no idea what 4chan is (serious here, I know it's an internet meme but knowledge ends there) but GR was a great boon to PvE content, they could hit a home run if there were significant (and welcome) PvP changes coming, or Incarnate content announcements.
Another thread suggested cross-server teaming, which would be a massive can of worms being opened. How do they reconcile this with global server names, server-specific names and so on?
Still, I suppose we'll find out soon enough. -
Well, I'm still waiting the results of the "Rock, Paper, Shotgun" competition.
Announced the 13th of August, but no date limit nor any news about it.
Any dev knows something?
-
Sorry for the necromancy but anyone has news about the Rock, Paper, Shotgun contest?
No word since the 13th August, nor top date of submission, nor day of the selection. Nothing.
