free form selection is a pretty terrible idea because it's too unbalanced. At least if you shoot for mixing and matching any two power sets some kind of balance could be struck.
-
at a quick glance, underslotting resist physical damage could cost you around 8% resistance, which where you are most likely short cutting yourself.

Quote:While DPS being similar is a great thing for balance, you do lose one metric for them to stand out. The other possibility is the buff pet and those are mostly bland pallet swaps with them having a single target heal and an aoe heal. I think the only pet that should have that specific combo is the Immunes Surgeon while the other pets should have other powers that aren't necessarily a pallet swap of the same two heal abilities.Hey all,
Glad to see youre enjoying the new Lore pets! Black Scorpion and myself made an explicit effort to get the various Lore Pet sets fairly close to each other in terms of DPS there shouldnt be any one set thats bounds better than the others. Along with ensuring that the new Lore pets were all competitive with the old sets and with each other, we also determined that the IDF pets were doing significantly less DPS than intended, and the damage and recharge of their powers were adjusted accordingly in i20.5. Its great to hear that many of you are taking Arachnos, Phantoms, Spectres, and others for concept - thats what we set out to enable!
Until next time,

Would you mind posting this in the All Things Art - FX Edition thread so more people can see it?

it happens - the real question is, when it does happen how far away does the other group get?

redtomax uses highly specific jargon, such as debuff mode 2, which has specific meaning in the programming area of paragon studios I'm sure. In non programmer speak : -7% tohit when weaken combo is achieved. You can find out these kinds of things by using the detailed info, in game, to avoid redtomax's confusing jargon.

The values on the pool power fears are so horrible as to make them almost completely worthless, especially when considering higher con foes. Invoke Panic, Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom are all competing for the same job : minion control. Minions will be handled by Cloak's fear and -tohit combined with Sweep/Weaken combo attacks. Stacking two fears on a lt likely wont last long given CoF's longer tick period.
The fighting pool will help you more. -
If it were up to me I'd change Resilience to 7.5% resistance to all but psi and add a 25% resistance to -regen to it and FH for a total of 50%. Then I'd change IH and Integration to be fully enhanceable again.
-
Ice/Stone is a solid combo. Between Fault and Tremor, most mobs will be juggled constantly and only get a hit or two in between KDs, if they have any endurance left.
I'll typically open a fight with Fault into EA then Tremor into Taunt then Fault and EA again. Once the group has AoE'd the majority of the mobs away, Seismic Smash and your choice of Mallet attack can finish off bosses. -
Well the +regen and heal of rebirth is a good catch all that helps against psi damage as well as toxic.
-
the defense doesnt matter because a well built invul is usually soft capped already. Even 6% isn't good enough to match the heal and regen of rebirth.
-
you can also check them out in-game via detailed info (right clicking the power) or in the enhancement screen.
-
Assuming even con foes using say 100% energy damage for an incoming dps of 1000. If you can soft cap energy defense that will reduce the dps to 100. An invul has around 30% energy resistance, taking you to 70 dps. Barrier, at the low end 1m buff, is 3% resistance. In this example that translates to taking 67 dps instead of 70. Rebirth, at the low end 1m buff, will give you 15-30 hp/sec depending on your max hp. 15-30 hp/sec > 3% resistance in most situations.
-
Cardiac is quite helpful with boosting non s/l resistances to more tolerable levels as well as eliminating endurance issues.
As for interface - I recommend diamagnetic or paralytic for an non farm tanks, as two ways to reduce incoming damage for you and your team.
Rebirth is the best option on destiny powers for an invul, imo, because you already have defense and resistance. Incarnate content will see your hp dive in large spikes, having a second heal to hit combined with extra regen is massively helpful. -
I'm totally on board with Fast Healing having the same -regen resistance that willpower gets, since WP has much more diverse tools on top of it's regen and better rez.

The concept of only directly controlling one character is a horrible idea, even in commercially viable games it's basically a death sentence (see FF XIII).
Final Fantasy 12 was solid in terms of combat options : you can setup commands for each character and/or directly command them. Forcing the players into a lack of control is not fun. Such a move only really works in games like Civilization where it would be less fun to have to choose individual attacks for a legion of 200 troops or something.
What you have listed basically sounds like FF 12's setup without the ability to choose specific actions for each mode, much less manually control each character. This basically means you are showing the player a world of potential and then teasing them with an extreme lack of control. Players like playing games, not letting the AI do it for them - those are called movies. -
AFAIK if you power boost and then shield someone the extra strength only lasts for a few seconds, and not the full duration of the shield.

You're missing a key component. S/L defense. Even with softcapped defense the DoT kills me. -

I tried speccing him for the fire farm but he seems topped out at 32% fire defense and 42% fire resistance. Negative energy is only at 53 while psi is 56.

What would be a good farm for a dark armor scrapper ? As a scrapper all of the values seem to suck
