WTF? The devs read the forum and LISTEN?
!!
Also: YES!
[edit: Can you uh...get rid of Oranbega while you're at it? <.< Or at least open it up a little bit like the tunnels? And maybe narrow down the hostage/glowy locations? Honestly I pretty much skip Oranbega missions automatically these days. They kind of give me a headache like the small cave maps, not to mention being really annoying to hunt glowies & the like on. Not the best intro for a new player maybe? I've hated them since the beginning. But maybe that's just me.
Also, 'bega is totally outshone by these new bad$$$ heavy metal CoT dudes anyway...] -
OK, I'm curious. How was Master of Five Magics sci-fi? Was Secret of the Sixth? Is this something to do with literary tech like plot structure and theme and other fancy words?!

Er, sorry.
In any case, pretty much nothing changes. You still will get everything you already do. You'll just get more stuff. If you were a new player, your account would earn all those vetspecs faster--but you're not. So you'll be in the same boat as the rest of us. Old characters with stacked vetspecs, and/or new ones that earn a stack as soon as they enter Galaxy's Last Stand.
Hello world!
Groovy. I wasn't too worried....

Quote:Woot! Someone else that liked God Emperor? I happen to like the two books after it as well. And yes, *waves hand across own eyes* "There are no prequels."What, you didn't like God Emperor of Dune?
We will, of course, for the purpose of this thread, assume that no one besides Frank Herbert ever wrote anything about Dune.
[edit: Can't remember exactly what I voted for, it was earlier today. I know Dune & WoT were in there. Snow Crash maybe.] -
But isn't the vet badge interface going away (or maybe not?) - if so, how will they be accessed? What about on a new character?
Or, are they still tied to the specific badges, and I'll still get all the same badges? -
I haven't kept up on all the chats and stuff - have the devs been clear about what happens to respecs that are currently "stored under" vet badges? (The ones you have to click to unlock and that don't stack if you click more than one, I think. It's been a while since I used one).

Quote:Since you guys are maybe listening, I'll voice my opinion:The images that players are basing their judgments on are pictures of a screen from SDCC. This is both good and bad:
- It's good because it's allowed us to get some unsolicited feedback upon which to act, and we are acting on it.
- It's bad because we were unable to present this revamp on our own terms using appropriate screenshots and in game images.

DO NOT LIKE.
Robes + COT = good, imho.
Spikey wow armor = cot = meh.
I'd be OK with it if it was Praetorian CoT... but I just don't think it works at all thematically for our CoT, as we've grown to know them. I think that you could probably work some of those pieces in on some of the individual units and have it look OK - as long as you work the robes back in too.
Just my pennies. -
Power list (from pic here):
1. Time Crawl: 1T debuff?
2. Temporal Mending : pbaoe heal
3. Time's Juncture
4. Temporal Selection: Some kind of heal or rez? Buff that gives +regen or +hp? It takes Doctored Wounds (pic here).
5. Distortion Field : targeted aoe patch?
6. Time Stop: 1T Hold?
7. Farsight : Clicky aoe defense ?
8. Slowed Response
9. Chrono Shift
[edit: If anyone knows what the powers do, especially ComicCon folks.... ] -
-
Hmm. I was able to add one to one account, but not to the other via another FB account - it just keeps saying the code has been used (and it is a different code).
-
Soo... I wonder what the 1+ powerset is that the VIPs get access to?
Or did I miss this somewhere, like Time Manip is locked to VIPs or something?
[edit: It's a POWER not a SET. So some random temp.] -
Quote:Shatter Armor (nice thematic match, great damage, great debuff) & a good pet that thematically matches the others.Love the MasterCrab build, very impressive and can't wait to make one.
One question though: It is my understanding that Gloom from Soul Mastery is one of the best pool single target attacks in the game. It is also my understanding that single target damage is the Crab's main weakness. Gloom also has the advantage of being ranged, and this way all of your crab's attacks will be ranged.
Is there a particular reason for picking Mace over Soul?
Shatter Armor is really good - in AV fights it's nice to have that extra debuff on there perma.
That being said, I wouldn't say Mace is *better* than Soul, it's just what I wanted. If you want Gloom, go for it. -
Quote:My comment was in reference to making on LOTG+Rech count as two, which I think was clarified as an error later in the thread. It's not a times five bonus.
You get five of them. And they raise the level of an IO by 1.
Getting a +1 makes a lot more sense balance-wise. -
Quote:What is this...I don't even...Also... The IO Booster power will (if I got this right) increase the effectiveness of any IO Enhancement it is attached to by x5.
So, if you hook it up to an IO Damage it will increase the bonus of that IO by a factor of five.
Black Pebble said that if the Booster was attached to a specific function IO such as the Luck of the Gambler speed increase, it would treat it as though the character had two such enhancements slotted instead of just one.
Also, Positron confirmed that these boosters are PERMANENT. They are NOT like inspirations to just give you a short-term increase.
He was unable to confirm if there is a maximum number of boosters you can use or how many such a number would be.
Seriously?
That sounds crazy good. -
I never thought of timing my trial runs - that would have been an interesting bit of data.
I have drop data from 208 trials logged...I've been taking a break for the last month or so as well or it would probably be 300 by now. -
Roger.
I thought the devs had talked about it in a couple of those chat things I never bother with, at least I saw that image of the weapons leaked from there (?) and mention of the momentum type mechanic. -
I haven't kept totally up on the news lately - so the deal with this is it will be the first power set available for purchase from the new "shop", yes/no?
Has it been revealed:
*When it will be available? I was guessing i21 launch as a showpiece for the new shop?
*What ATs it will be available for? Scrap, brute, tank I'd guess for sure - I thought I saw something about Stalkers maybe not getting it? -
I'm such a sucker for stacking pbaoe toggles... I'll probably start off with fire/pois & elec/pois and see what sticks from there. I haven't taken an elec/ controller to 50 yet (/kin & /cold in the 30s), and I have a ton of fire/... so maybe this will be the one.
It sounds like the aura won't break sleeps, so it will be good clean fun with elec/.
The concept might take me a while to sort out though, glad I've got time!
Thematically I like plant/pois & mind/pois.
Also, I'm pretty sure those #s on Noxious will come down - it was balanced around the limited uptime. Not that I'll complain if they stay.... -
Quote:As someone who has played /therm, /sonic & /ff let me assure you that the other two most certainly to not make sonic superfluous. No more than /dark vs. /rad or something, you know? All this does is make me want to roll a Thugs/Thermal.
Though Thugs/Sonic could theme pretty well as a rock and roll band/mosh mob.
Really I'd hope the devs would have given MMs something different from a set we already have. We already have bubble sets in Thermal and Force Fields. This kinda makes Sonic a bit superfluous. Maybe I'm just being wishful, but I really would have liked /Rad or /Kin. But as I understand it, they are in the works, or at least planned for some time down the road.
Saving the best for last, I guess.
/son was (last time I was active) one of the rarest debuff sets I saw played, and definitely one of the ones I preferred to have on a team (toggle resist & status protection + toggle -res on ally + 1t -res are really handy).
Quote:I think it's probably third after FF and Traps. The native defense values of those sets provide more average mitigation than Sonic's resistances. Additionally both sets have more options for soft control which helps to reduce incoming damage. -
Torrent was an aoe like Gale is an aoe (OK, not quite, but the damage was still horrible - ~1/3 of Nightfall's) so... not much of a loss IMHO. As far as damage goes. They haven't said whether the merged power has KB or not so there might not even be a control loss.
-
SS/Reg or Energy/Reg, can't decide. I've tried really hard twice now to love Energy/ and failed (energy/dark to 36 & energy/stone to 40ish), so maybe this will finally be the right fit? I've already got ss/dark & ss/fire at 50 (plus stone/ss & ice/ss at 50) so I should be saturated on SS by now. But... tempting.
-
Wow. I remember watching that.
The film didn't really paint anyone in a positive light, it was all really depressing. -
-
I don't get why they said it would never happen... WTH in particular would make Dark Blast less likely than anything else to port? Giving an aoe disorient to blasters? Corruptors have had it for ages... (Be nice if they got the updated version!).
-
I haven't played my /ea brute in a while, and forgot if they have a taunt or aura or not. My wondering was about the way the wording made it sound like they did not and it would be added to the scrapper version which made me wonder how it would play with the /ea stealth power (which I love).
