  1. Feel free to use any of my builds, although most of my current ones are likely overkill for the average player.
  2. Yes it can be done, but it's a very tight build and you'll have to pick your bonuses and sacrifices to make it work.
  3. For hard targets like Cheat DE I use the ST confuse to hit the two bosses once each before the fight, then open with Aura of Confusion. Nothing even looks at me then, for the first 30 seconds anyway.
  4. BA is a small percentage behind WM, but I didn't feel like it was enough to mention. 5 to 6%.
  5. Also, you can slot something other than Oblits or Erads. I hated to do it, but I did it on my /WP build, and by bringing the cost down on the AoEs, things definitely got better.

Will that be enough end to work for WM, I don't know. Will WM have enough defense without using Oblits or Erads, I don't know.

Will it be an offensive powerhouse, absolutely. Will it be the best, probably not as DM/SD has it beat for ST, and SS/FA will probably have it beat for AoE. However, it may well end up the #2 for both ST and AoE, if we can get builds that leverage it's DPA and manage its EPS.

That would make it a very nice general purpose build, and a real potential for top overall build, but not the best at either. At the very least I'm hoping it ends up somewhere in that vicinity.

PS: adding Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection each 3 slotted with perf procs moves you from 70s to 200s burn time in my calcs. I tend to like something in the 180 range, so you might could even drop one slot from one if you absolutely had to. Drop 2 slots, 1 from each, and you'd need blue candy from time to time. Drop more than that and I'd start getting uncomfortable again.
  6. I don't know if the source numbers included crits or not, so I didn't include them. If they did not include crits, did not include arcana time, etc ... Then since this is dpa over the long term averaging bonuses, you should be able to simply multiply by 1.10x for the answer.

1.1x for crits would put you right back at 200 dps, or very close to the higher end number for Brutes.

This was all based on an FA build, so SD would futher leverage the scrapper numbers and likely end up ....

Saturated AoA on WM/SD scrapper with crits ~= 260 ST dps on the above referenced build parameters and assuming the numbers posted on the first page do NOT include crits. Saturated DM/SD is over 300 for comparison. I don't recall the exact number.

However, with a cost of -4.1 eps and a recovery of (+3.68 - 1.25 = +2.43) net endurance is -1.67 for a burn time of 70s. Without any form of endurance recovery tools, you're gonna see problems. So if you stick to Spiritual, you'll almost have to take Ageless +recovery, which means no rebirth, which means no healing other than green candy. That's not really a spot I'd like to be in, Stuck between needing Green to stay alive long term or blue to keep fighting long term. Which is why I stuck in on a /FA for comparison, and to further leverage AoE with Burn complimenting the 3 WM AoEs. Alternately I'd stick it on /ELA, or /ENA. i21 /ENA is looking pretty, but I really like the AoE in /FA, and I like the T9 availability of /ELA along with it's damage aura. I did not include the damage auras in the calculations, but I did include burn if it's ST dpa warranted, but I think that only applied to BA.

  7. Your build is fine, has a bit more recharge than mine, too.

Here's the build I made for the incarnate soft-cap, but I never put it on live. I just use the confuses and small purples instead.

  8. 67% Fury is dead even for War Mace with the numbers and the IO Build above. However, I'm almost certain I've calculated other sets in the past and the break even was 82%. Either I've mis-remembered, those sets are overpowered as brutes, or this set is underpowered as a scrapper. Once this goes live I may re-run spread sheets and charts for all the melee sets scrapper vs brute.
  9. Using the numbers you posted, and without verifying them in beta since I had to patch last night. I reverse calculated to find the base damage and to replicate your numbers based on known activation, recharge, and endurance from the live brute versions.
    Code:
IO Build, Spiritual Core Paragon, 17.5 Global Damage Bonus, 120% Global Recharge
    82% Fury
    			Dam Procs	Rech End
    Crushing Impact	2.158x	+14.36	/3.120	/1.477
    Mako's Bite	2.111x	+14.36	/3.300	/1.663
    Oblits (PBAoE)	2.138x	+14.36	/3.460	/1.186
~180dps ST for both WM and BA for scrapper
~190 with Glad -res, since it's hard to leverage long term without fast repeating attacks.
~210dps ST for WM as a Brute, no -res needed.
~220dps ST for WM as a brute with Glad -res, again it's hard to leverage long term without fast repeating attacks.

On average the sets should be even at ~82% fury, it seems it's been slightly nerfed in the conversion, but I will double check the numbers later. Unless you want to repost the numbers here for me. Base damage, Base Recharge, Base Endurance, Base Activation (specify if it includes or excludes arcanatime)
  10. War Mace / Fiery Aura ?

I have a brute version of WM/FA I stared, but I think is on indefinite leave now that I might can make one as a scrapper. SS with massive recharge is #1 for AoE, but I'm thinking WM/FA with moderate recharge may well end up #2 for AoE and also may have more ST damage than SS. The real question is then, where do I get the endurance to run the thing at full tilt. I'll be sucking wind every 60 seconds if my consume misses I'm up a creek, and I want to be able to run with Spiritual Core Paragon Alpha and Rebirth +Regeneration.
  11. Perma-Rage is IMO definitely worth it. If you aren't gonna perma it, then you might as well not use it at all. If you aren't gonna use it at all, you might as well roll something other than SS.

Perma Double Rage, I decide wasn't worth it. After accounting for downtime it was only a 0.06x bonus. I decided that was too small a bonus to be worth the build investment. The first rage perma was something around 0.15x bonus, but I don't recall without recalculating it. The bonus goes down as fury and eating red candy goes up. I'd rather just perma-it and eat candy.

However; each player, playstyle, and build will have to decide for themselves.
  12. Or browse my archives. I have no idea how many ss/fa there are, or how up to date, but there has to be at least one.
  13. You can make a macro or bind to combine inspirations:

    /macro BF "inspcombine xxxx Break_Free$$inspcombine xxxx Break_Free"
where xxx is the type that combines into a BF. You'll have to use paragon wiki to look up all the names, and make 3 macros, one for each level of break free, and each type of other candy you want to combine into the BF.

You can make a macro or bind to target pesky bosses:

    /macro Boss "targetcustomnext alive Chief"
    /macro Pesky "targetcustomnext alive mesmerist"

Again, you'll have to look up the spelling, and typos likely abound.

Don't feel bad about the carnies. You can get a spawn of 3 or 4 bosses, and each boss can spawn 3 or 4 lts. Then all 20 of them can each cast a hold. If you're the only target ....
  14. I wouldn't take ignite without an immobilize. I wouldn't play AR without ignite.

I Would take Mu Patron and get E-Fences.
  15. Most Mezs are Ranged or AoE, not Melee, nor Smashing, Nor Lethal.

Clarion would be the obvious option.

There are also status resistance buffs available in bases, as well as some temporary and accolade powers that may help. Resistance shortens the duration and isn't the same as protection.

Tips mobs are considerably tougher than most others.

Carnies can be brutal and hold through even the best mez protection. Tips DE are the other brutal ones, with the buffs they can get, they'll punch right through your debuffs. You may want to avoid Carnies and DE if at all possible, even if you have a full tray of candy.

Rikti sleeps are plentiful, but not nearly as bad as Carnies. If you carry 4 to 5 BFs per mission then Rikti and Below shouldn't be a problem. If you're level 32 and up, use fluffy as a decoy mez target.

Building for Ranged/AoE defense, and using hover, debuffs, and other tactics to avoid melee may get you better mileage.

There are two Dark/Sonic level 40+ builds in my archives that have (30 defense all + debuffs ~= softcapped), good SLE Resist, and endurance management powers. You could take either and adapt them to your needs. Just be aware they are endurance intensive and you'll need to get your accolades and you'll either need those endurance management powers, or incarnate powers, or have to selectively play or build for lower endurance consumption. Also, there are endurance empowerment buffs in bases, and endurance temporary powers, as well as teammates that can boost your endurance.

Lastly, if you still can't deal with mez, make a Trapper or Veat, for the Veat I'd recommend a Huntsman. Both are support and debuff oriented, but also have self status protection and can operate completely self sufficiently.
  16. Not attacking the other build, it has both strengths and weaknesses mine doesn't. Equally, mine has both strengths and weaknesses it doesn't.

The cheap version is as close as I could get without making an entirely new build. The idea is to start with the cheap one, then work up to the more expensive. I both plan incrementally ahead of time, and build incrementally as I go, refining the builds. I had to back off a bit from my end goals to maintain a lower priced build.

My actual build, which is much more expensive with 10 Hamis and a PvP +def, with the main 4 accoloades and spiritual has:
    • It's soft-capped to MLFCEN, that alone is 20x, adding resists takes it further. There is a hole to S, but that's mostly covered by M, leaving main Ranged Smashing. I'll have to live with the Ranged Smashing hole. However, Having to rely on DA is it's own minor purgatory.
    • Its 2250 hp, that alone is spike protection, adding the resists is just padding.
    • If it's willpower and it doesn't have 50 hps regen, something is very wrong.
    • With spiritual it's a rough average of 175 dps x 1.16 for Achilles applied 4 times over 10 seconds, for around 205 st dps. With the PvP in GD, it's 5 times in 10 second for 1.2x, but I'm pretty sure I was supposed to change the slotting for better endurance, and just didn't save that into the build yet.
    • AoE is a bit abysmal at 350, barely passing, if it passes.
  17. Yes, more or less, SD typically uses vectors. There are exceptions, attacks without vectors only types. The soft-cap is 45%.

    Start Here: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Defense
  18. With the above build
    You Gain
    • SL without DA
    • Slightly better AoE - if Flashing Steel is usable with that slotting - it should be ok i21 with some work.
    You Lose
    • The higher recharge top damage chain
    • Achilles damage multiplier.
    • 205 ST dps to 165 ST dps (estimate)
    • Shadowmeld

If you can't crack 200 dps, and bring at least minimal AoE, I'm not interested. But, obviously, everyone doesn't have the same build goals, and filling the defense without DA is an advantage, as is filling the Smashing hole. You have to decide your own goals and benchmarks yourself.

    My benchmarks are:
20x Survivability Rating or 0.05 permissibility*. (without Barrier)
2250 Spike Damage Protection** (HP x Resist) (without Barrier)
50 hps on demand regeneration or healing. (without Rebirth)
200 ST dps (without Reactive or Lore)
350 AoE dps (using my measurement methods) (without Reactive, Lore, or Judgement)
    135s recharge on Hasten

    * Weighted Average with MSL 50%, RENFC 33%, ATP 17%.
    ** Weighted 2250 MSL, 1500 RAENFCTP.
*** Things never workout as above, every set has it's own strengths and weaknesses,

Yes, and why you will see Glad +3 in so many builds.
the Steadfast +3 is easier and cheaper to get.
Guassians is another very popular item for the same reason, it's +2.5.
Barrier T4 will give you perma +5 to all defense, assuming you don't want a different power in the destiny slot. That will solidify the cheap version of the build I posted.
Don't obsess over Regen Tissue. You have a build with 600 to 1000 regen, 25 isn't going to make it or break it. On the other hand, a Glad +3 might. Prioritize all your powers and slots with the same things in mind, don't get too fixated on any one power, bonus type, or slot. This may even include defense.

I get my Glads from A-Merits, but Emp-Merits may be potentially faster, but I've not checked the numbers/prices. Buying it is a crap shoot, everyone wants one so the few that sell even at the influence cap of 2 billion are random luck if you get one. I'd value them at 3.8 billion, so there's almost no way to buy them in-game, and few ways to arrange to buy anything that expensive - none that I'd trust.

Defense soft-cap is 45%. If you have 40% you will literally take twice as much damage as you would if you have 45%. Also keep in mind, most damage is Melee, next is Ranged, and Last is AoE. I don't have the percentages for typed damage, but it's most likely SL / EN / FC. SLE are the top three I'd want to defense against, from personal experience. With that in mind, I'd rather have a hole to AoE,than to range, than to Melee. You do have a hole to Toxic/Psy, almost everyone does. You do have a hole to Ranged Smashing, there's not much you can do about it as a willpower, suck it up.

How much defense, recharge, and accuracy you want, is entirely up to you. Every player will choose a different goal. I've seen people perfectly happy with willpower and half the defense numbers I put in a build.
You most likely want enough recharge to run GC->SD->GC->GD repeat.
You most likely want Spiritual T4 Alpha.
You most likely want enough accuracy such that when you malfactor to level X you can hit Level +U Critters. I generally aim for mid 30s and +3.

For my build, I'd likely choose level 35 to 36 IOs. When you lose tactics (38) and/or the acc bonuses, you lose the ability to hit +3. Tactics will drop when you go below (38-5) 33. So you want to maintain bonuses to 33, so that means max IO level 36 for any set giving an acc bonus, and preferably for the defense bonuses as well. A kismet +acc could help here, but you'd have to steal a slot from something to get it, and it will only go so far. I'd love to have one in the build.

It's DXP weekend, don't expect many people to even glance till next week sometime.

Then, when they do glance, you have to get their attention, or ask them personally.

Specific question are more likely to be answered, "I have this great build, but I need more endurance"?

It's more likely someone will simply answer by supplying you a high-end build, than modifying your build. That's as much due to the difficulty of making a high-end build as it is to the personal style and goals of each player. My builds are most often more defensive oriented than offensive, and most often rely on vectored defense over typed. If you want a build like that, not only can I help you, I probably already have one. However, Willpower is typed over vectored, especially the way you seem to want to build it, therefore, you may have more luck with someone else. My build works, just barely, and once you can recognize these things, you'll see that it relies heavily on vectored techniques, even though it's a typed build.

Most High-end builds are very delicate, you can't change even one power, or one slot. In fact we've gone to great lengths to free that one slot up for that one other critical bonus somehwere. The DA slotting, that one has taken years for the best builders to come up with a few high-end variants, just to free up enhancement 1 slot. I'm not even sure that's the best one, but it was the best one for me for that build, just to gain one slot.

The GD slotting in my build may need to be modified for Endurance, so as to switch the build to Spiritual. I can't remember without running a spreadsheet to check the numbers. I know I changed it for one of my KAT builds, don't recall which one. That change, if I remember correctly would change the offensive multiplier from 1.20 to 1.16, but also change you from huffing and puffing and needing cardiac to being able to leverage spiritual. Again, one or two slots changed and it has a major impact on the playability of the build and which other powers it can use and take. However, it takes a spreadsheet and an hours worth of work to double check that and figure it out.
  20. If it procs, it breaks stealth.
If it does not proc, it does not break stealth.
I removed mine since I liked to use it while stealthing.
  21. Here's a dumbed down cheapened version of my build. The original was softcapped to Melee/LENRC, but costs.

Better Single Target, but you also suffer redraw when you use the Patron and Crab AoE. There would be no redraw penalty for the Crab Versions.
However, the AoE multiplier helps make up for the redraw since I don't use those attacks in the ST chain, and when I'm not AoEing, I have better single target dps.

So it reallly depends on your focus. If you want to focus on AoE, go Crab Attacks, and you'll suffer on ST. If you want to focus on ST attacks, go Gun/Huntsman, and you'll suffer on AoE.
  23. Assuming the numbers above, and that arcanatime is baked in, and an average build, and a partridge in a pair tree.

I came up with 135 raw dps, and 165 after crits, Combat Readiness, Rib Cracker, and Shin Breaker with achilles. With some procs It could get up to 145 raw or 175 all the goodies. That'd put it neither best nor worst. Call it the Dual Pistols of scrappers, great utility but average damage ?

It's all just speculation till it goes live, I get better info, and in-game experience.

21 days: I only play 2 days a week, for 2 to 4 hours per day. I didn't ONLY play this character, and I typically did only 1 mission per day/week. Also, I had to do a respec to refine the build and start over. Were I to do it again, in one gaming session, it would be roughly 7 hours straight. I never have a block of 7 hours free. If it takes me 21 days to get free time in blocks of meaningful size, 2 to 4 hour blocks, then it takes 21 days for me to get free-time in blocks of meaningful size.

Attacks: I fight both in-close and at range. I prefer in-close, but that can become problematic with cimmies. I ate tons of purple candy, mega-tons.

    The standard ST chains are:
(Single, Burst, Single), Venom, (Single, Burst, Single), Heavy :: requires the purples and/or recharge buffs/empowerments.
Single, Burst, Venom, Single, Burst, Heavy ... whatever fits.

AV Immoblize, lower dps but you have to keep them from running, chain is:
Single, Burst, Fence, Single, Burst, Venom, Single, Burst, Fence, Single, Burst, Heavy

AoE Chains are a bit more hectic. I use the immoblize as both damage and as a way to keep things close for Frenzy. Then I throw whatever I have whenever I have it. Filling in with (Single, Burst, Single) when needed.

The pets do add damage, but at +4, don't always live overly long. They're a noticeable buff to damage while alive. They're a big buff for AVs, after you clear the area of things that might aggro on them. The Reinforcements have an immobilize as well as damage.

I'll measure damage levels later this week or next. My spreadsheet has my personal damage at 110 * 1.36 -resistance := ~150 after debuffs. Then add reactive, pets, and lore. But, I plan on testing all that in-game later.
  25. We have a /cleartray. I'd love to see /traysave /trayload /traysavefile /trayloadfile.
