  1. I pre-ordered it, so it's not like I can go "oh I'm not gonna buy it". While City of Heroes was axed only three or four days after the release of GW2, there's nothing that really chalks it up to being GW2's fault.

Besides, I think it's much more likely because of their hard-on for Aion that this has come to be.

Also, I'm not willing to give up on my thief so soon after finding out about City of.
  2. I'll most definitely be playing Guild Wars 2. Although this does leave a bitter taste in my mouth about NCSoft, I still paid fifty smackaroos for it and I'm not going to let the tale of Spencer Winterson the thief die out too. I'll also probably consider picking up The Secret World as it seems to be pretty cool. And if any private servers start up to keep the City of Heroes alive, I'll definitely be on there.
  3. Presuming everything goes nicely...

Trish the Bloodmage will be fighting the good fight and helping the wounded up until the very end.

Lost Whispers shall stand in Grandville, protecting Lord Recluse until she draws her last breath.

Longfang Alden will defect from Arachnos and start a private mercenary company, spending the rest of his life the leader of a mercenary squad for hire.

Midas`Haymaker would set about making plans to purchase a small island in the Rogue Isles and live the rest of her life in peace there.

Torrential Bloom will be parked in Perez Park, choosing to become a guardian of the wilds there and put effort towards cleaning the place up so that one day Perez Park will be restored to its former glory.

Without Form will be parked on the roof of Atlas, taking in the spender of the city he has sworn to preserve.

The man known as "Deals with Devils" will lurk in the slums of every region in Paragon, becoming a vigilante , feeding the souls of those he deems "corrupt" to the demons he signed a contract with in an attempt to save himself from eternal damnation.

    And finally...

Lightning Brenden will be sitting in Peregrine Isle at Portal Corp in a nondescript dark outfit, ready to jump ship to some other dimension after his attachments to Paragon City and the isles drift apart. Joining him will be Dream Valkyrie, who, after seeing the Praetorian civilization fall, no longer feels welcome in Paragon City. Having hailed from Praetoria, she holds no qualms about hopping through portals to leave her home even if it does sadden her.

So many of the enemy groups, the Destroyers most notably, seemed to be set up to where each mob type had exactly one attack that they spammed over and over, and that one attack had a knockback effect. Couple that with some of the tunnel missions where you've got a really good chance of aggroing six of them at a time, and I'd almost swear I spent as much time picking myself up off the ground as I spent actually fighting. And those Destroyers with their rocket launchers and Molotov cocktails - I couldn't even round them up in to a cluster and use my melee AoE, because they'd plant themselves somewhere and attack from range, and would not budge from their spots.

I got my first Praetorian character (a claws/invuln scrapper) to level 20 and through the portal to Paragon, and I haven't been back since.
I've brought two characters through Praetoria, and when I was running through with my TW/Fire Brute it was a pain fighting some groups of enemies, Destroyers included. Personally I had the biggest problem with Seers and their stupid knockback attack that sends you flying, and Noble Savage who was responsible for 2 of my 4 deaths in Praetoria because I spent half the time flying backwards as opposed to actually fighting. I ended up bringing three Break Frees to Savage so I could stop getting punted backwards endlessly. And for the seers, I pretty much had to fill my inventory with Break Frees or rush through the mission like a madman.

No, he's going to come back as Statesman Red and Statesman Blue.
  6. I'm sort of like this. I have Chronic Restart Syndrome.

I roll a character, go "This is AWESOME!" and level that character up until they reach somewhere in the "Dead Zone Range", the range where I start losing interest in a character, which is around the level 15-30 area. I then get bored of that character, delete it to save room and roll a new character who is SO AWESOME and fun to play, etc. etc.

Somewhere around 4-5 years of playing CoX and I only have three Level 50's. One of which only recently hit the level cap.

Only solution I can think of is to think of such a great character concept that I carry myself through the levels of anti-fun simply out of sheer love for the character I made.
  7. Darrin Wade completes his plan to absorb the powers of every super in Paragon City. Unfortunately, due to having Sister Psyche's powers, he also inadvertently absorbs some minds with those powers, and we end up with Darrin Wade in his underwear wearing fake cat ears and a tail flying around Paragon screaming "I'M SUPERMAN!".
  8. Haha, I wish I had one of those for the winter.

Now make a Resistance scarf :V
  9. Currently, I have a Cold/DP. The thing is, I'd kinda like it to be /viable/ in soloing for when servers are slow.

So, I'd like to request a viable soloing build with SO's. Please.
  10. Every time I hear someone saying that they're looking for a healer or they're broadcasting themselves as healers, I ask them how to get the new healer archetype.
  11. I'm making a Nin/Nin, will that be viable for both PvE and PvP? And what can I expect to get out of my powersets?

    Ok, stuck.

A wanna-be swordsman who keeps cutting himself with his own blades unintentionally. Have him pick lots of fights.

(For bonus points, make him a wimp.)
  13. LghtningBrenden

    Walkin' away.

Anyone else do a bit of a jig when they heard this?
  14. Yes, RP for just fun, randomness, and pancakes. Not just silly OOC and pretentious stuff IC (like the stuff you find in Pocket D) but I'm talking pure random, like one minute we're mourning the death of some random hellion in the streets and the next we're running around gleefully across Paragon or the Rogue Isles with Electrified-Kitten Rocket Launcher Cannons. Just the up-beat "Life has a purpose, and that purpose is to enjoy it" method to roleplay. Just fun, fun, and bacon.
  15. I'd like to know a basic PVP build for someone new to PVPing without billions of disposable inf. I was thinking of rolling a Stalker, but any sort of character would be fine.
  16. My first tennis round.

    *pok*

(Note, the last image IS there, it's just kinda smothered by the text bubble)
  17. I have no idea who I'm looking for or where they are. Could anyone help me?
  18. You can reach me at @Lightning Brenden.

I'm kinda new, but I'm working on my skills. I'm better with Tech than I am with arcane right now, but I can see what I can do with Arcane.
  19. 1. Powerset Proliferation. Damnit Castle, I'm still waiting to make my elec/elec scrapper.

    2. ITF. It got me through the dreaded 35-40 level range.

    3. Insp combining. No longer must we wait because nobody had a wakie in a group of lvl 50's.
