  1. yes. Just as someone can earn Alignment credit from someone else's Alignment Tip, a player that is 10/10 can earn Morality credit from someone else's Morality Tip.

Collaborative missions need not be selected. That only applies if they have their own Morality Tip and want the completion bonus.

    Traps for doms

Well going by the next booster Pack, we already have a set that fits Natural origin, Plant.

As for a Traps set, bad idea for Dominators. Pet and Pseudo-pet powers don't gain benefits of Domination.

Whatever it was it sure sounded great, and if it was an electric guitar - not saying it actually was an electric guitar, let alone any specific make or model, just speculating here - it would probably have had .008 gauge Ernie Ball strings on it.

Thing. Or whatever. Tuned to DADGAD. Probably. If it, you know, had strings. Which maybe it didn't.

Complaining in this thread would be meaningless, no matter how many. Enough complaints to NCSoft about the moderation rules might have an effect.
Mod8 was largely responsible for the writing of the current rules. He obviously had to get approvals from various unknown people(s) but any further changes in the rule or enforcement start by talking to him.

This coming from someone who used to be a player representative on the secret committee to talk with the mods about this sort of thing (now defunct).

Maybe we can add new recipes with said attributes to an upcoming Issue??
They do. It's mezz resistance not mezz protection, but it's in the system. It's not as easy to stack up as -kb, but it can mean a significant break in the time mezzed.

If you get reported for a copyrighted name/outfit, it's not by someone who hates you, it's done by someone who loves this game and doesn't want to see it suffer because of your ego.

It's simple. The makers of this game can't make money off copyrights they don't own. We pay them money. They can't let us use other people's property on their system.

  14. I agree, and I think titles should be revamped to work like booster packs. Origin themed, but not origin locked.

  18. Also to note since people haven't covered it yet, Brutes have Scrapper like defenses at the base amounts, but they have at or near Tanker level caps on those stats.

Scrappers can get the big hits if they crit, but when it comes to sustained damage and survivability, a Brute will win.

That's not to say one is outright better than the other. There's a lot of room for variation on the different powersets, and mainly it boils down to a question of playstyle. The differences can be quite subtle though, since they are very similar.
  19. I don't come here to "win" and when I'm wrong I admit it. However explaining to someone why things would or wouldn't work takes facts, and facts require examples and citation.

Effective debate is about a back and forth discussion and the exchange of accurate information, so the thoughts and ideas are improved or discarded. If you knock information and examples out of the tripod, it becomes feelings and opinions, which can't be gainsaid, or even discussed effectively because you've made them sacred. Under those rules pretty much any disagreement can be taken as a personal attack, which just means you'd have more threads devolving into chaos not less.

I come here to inform and be informed. Having to guess where someone is getting their information or idea or what event they're referring to hinders that. Under these rules, I can't even say "I've tried this idea before in another game, it doesn't work." There's no frame of reference and my objection inspires no one to think because it's just an open ended opinion that can be dismissed.

If this is the hardline interpretation you guys are going to stick to, you might as well just make everything a Forum Poll or allow people to use /jranger as a response again, because "Yes" and "No" are going to be the only meaningful response anyone can give.

A forum is a place of discussion, this kind of thing turns this from a forum into a Comment Thread.

I would be curious to see the show's bible to see where they were going with it.
See that's the thing, that's what everyone wanted to see. It's the show's hook. Problem is, they took entirely too long getting anywhere with it. It's not like Lost where the hook was that we didn't know what the hook was. They made it clear from the beginning that Caprica was meant to be the story of where the Cylons came from, and then pretty much gave up on trying to deliver that. Or at least delivered on it so slowly that not enough people were satisfied.

Lothic's post above is spot on. TV sells these big ideas as open ended series, because they think to get people to buy in, they need to gear up a machine that will become the next Star Trek, a syndication monster. Problem is, that turns far too many solid ideas into open ended pieces of drek. I don't get to watch much foreign TV, but from what I hear I'd be much happier in a telenovela environment, where a show is one season long, at most two.

V as a miniseries was epic and event television. V as a series crashed and burned (TWICE even) but the execs still haven't learned.

I think they really would have been more successful with a 2 season long A-Z plot for Caprica that told a definitive story. From there they could easily morph it into the Cylon War series they're talking about now, and again make that a 2 season long A-Z story. Would Siffy get to syndicate either one? No. But they'd make a hell of a lot of money on DVD sets and have endless fodder for weekend marathons that people would actually try to watch because they have clear beginning middle and ends.
  21. Up until the recent AI issues, Illusion control pets were actually some of the most predictable and reliable.

Not to mention if you're teaming with multiple Ill controllers, chaos is pretty much something they're going to seek out. If one or more of them is /storm all bets are off.

Getting things into nice neat piles is a source of joy to me. But so is sending an entire room spawned for 8 into screaming running chaos and still not having any worries about dying. Try it sometime, you may like it more than you think
  22. Shooting for the 6 slot bonus is a perfectly acceptable goal. If you're shooting for as much control as possible on a non standard control set, it's all good too. I was just pointing out that the relative "need" for the proc to do its job isn't really a key issue when talking about true Control ATs.

As for the OP's suggestion, I'd say that we're not dealing with procs that require further action here (like most of the ones in WoW do) It's not like knowing the proc goes off means you need to fire off another power. In powersets where chained effects require player intervention (Dual Blades) we get a UI warning.

With regards to your slotting choices for your Dom and your Fortunata, I'd recommend looking into slotting 4 pieces of Basilisk's Gaze, then the triple aspect and the quad aspect from Lockdown in your Holds. The 15% added global recharge will be a much more reliable tool in stacking Hold Magnitude than the Lockdown Proc is.
  23. I'm still puzzled as to why this reversion to the old rules was deemed necessary. When the forum rules were relaxed, then updated, we had numerous completely acceptable threads and conversations about other games. Even in the old days things weren't so over the top as to expurgate even a mention of another game.

So did something happen when I was away that deemed this necessary?

Most shows in most theaters don't allow the throwing of the food or the spraying of the liquids anymore. Don't like the shouting? Never yelled at something stupid on your TV before ever? That's what Rocky is, just to the nth degree.

Rocky is some cool songs surrounded by a bad (really bad) plot. I was frustrated the first time I went to see it too simply because I was trying to figure out what was being said onscreen. However I soon realized it's 95% irrelevant to the experience.
