Quote:I'm looking forward to the staff fighting, but I'm fine with the wait.I'm waiting for that till summer, when the "enhanced edition" reissue releases. I'm actually more excited about that then any of the major releases of the last year. (some of which I was looking very forward too)
I'm kinda 'meh' on staff fighting and haven't bought beast mastery either (MM's are not my thing), but that's ok as I still got loads of characters to play with the power sets that released in the past months. I still haven't rolled a titan weapons or dark control character yet!
Finally rolled a kinetic melee (though I did play one in that beta long ago).
Titan Weapons, I'm still not sure on, but it looks to have promise.
Got my Street Justice up to 50 already. Love that set.
Dark Control is showing a lot of promise.
Liking Time, but not as much as Dark.
I'll get Beast MM eventually, just like I'll pick up various costume stuff eventually. (more options!) -

Quote:If there have to be the timers, 20 hours is much better than longer ones. And this from someone who used to have over 70 alts, but recently cut down to 35.This makes sense to me.
There is no reason obvious to me why you should be held back by this one week timer if you like to play one character while I get to alt hop across my Incarnates and do basically the same thing just spread out over many characters.
I feel like I should form a group of Altoholics supporting non-Altoholics.
Besides I really hate these week long timers. They are more annoying to track than the once per day (20 hours) ones.
Maybe it will be better once more incarnate stuff gets added? -
Quote:Heh. I took a semi-break for the last year to concentrate on some other stuff, but still played very casually.Well....
"Are there vast areas of new and important information about the live game that I'm missing?!"
Maybe the desired answer was simply, "Yes."
I am so out of depth at times now.
I finished the DA arc. Saw that this was being added and thought "Cool, more rewards when I play it again." -

First question: Excuse me?
Second Question: It has. It was a traffic mess, but it didn't stick around long. -
-
So far have done several different characters. Only once did I make it thru without having to run. (Sometimes killed by the second wave, sigh)
A bunch of purples are a very good idea. Heck, that's all I bring with me now. After the initial OMG, doom, it's generally easy to do a pull and take them in detail. -
I'm still waiting for the phone vet reward. Instead of waiting, you get contact phone numbers right when you get them as a contact. And instead of running back and forth to talk to people you have as a contact, you can just call them up on your phone.
So sick of running messages back and forth between indigo & crimson, when you know they've been on the phone talking about you while you're sitting on a train somewhere... -

Quote:Ah. That may explain it. I've seen the problem on teams much more, but while solo it would hardly ever be a problem.Did your wife (or you, but this question would be odd directed to a scrapper) have Tactics? It increases the range at which Lady Jane (and all other pet allies) sees foes.
I tend to do the mission solo and with teams, killing her off is less trouble. -
There may be a reply. Perhaps what is going on with Freedom, they had the other servers offline so they can make sure the same thing doesn't happen there?
On the slim amount of info, I'm disappointed I can't play yet, but I'd rather have something stable to play on when it comes up.
edit: just got into Justice -
I'm looking forward to Pain Domination and really looking forward to the mission creator.

But being in IT you would also know that if 99% of your users are online without problems, then the 1% having problems will not be caused by server problems or misconfiguration on the server side.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bad assumption there. Just because a problem crops up for 1% just means there may be a bug server side that is exposed by their setup. Slight difference in semantics. -
What I would love to see is a way to copy one's settings to other characters. Something where you would set one char's options and then set that as default, so whenever you created a new Alt, it would be your default.
And some way of resetting to your default. -
Can't see what I learned from having to hike through the hollows.
Maybe this:
1. No travel power sucks.
2. Large differences in levels can kill me quickly.
Sure I could cross the hollows with my low levels, but after the first couple times, it's boring and a waste of time. -
Playing an Elec/Elec Brute so figured I should go with Scirocco for concept...
I'm finding Mu Lightning not too bad once slotted. Comes up fairly fast and I find that it's a great pull power (though maybe not in the Brute way of things.)
Ball lightning, pretty much not worthwhile. Looks pretty, but that's about it.
Not even going to bother with fences, since I do want to knock down my targets.
And don't want a pet, though I can see usefullness with a distraction.
Yea, end drain isn't that great of compensation, since it seems most mobs work fine at low end. Seems to stop the big attacks from some bosses. -

lets not forget.. if lucky enough to get the pawn shop you can get a DO.. I have a lvl 6 with a couple lvl 9 DOs slotted now
and its best not to waste time on trucks or even cars, they take too long to kill at the lower lvls
[/ QUOTE ]
That's what generates them!
Some of us just did a Atlas mayhem with our 30s and I looked at my tray later and saw a lvl 11 DO. Voot! -
Got my Elec/Elec Brute up to 44. Love the set as a whole. Find Chain Induction disappointing. I hadn't checked the forum for the feedback and just went with the description. Little damage and not very reliable for hitting multiple targets.
Jacob's Ladder is non-trivial to hit multiple targets for me, but it's a neat effect.
Love the Lightning Rod effect. Damage isn't too bad, seems great when Fury is up.
I'd say beef up some of the damages, lower the recharge, and/or lower the end cost as options. Fix Chain though. -
I like Mayhem missions. At low level, you can't do that much and I find it easiest to solo them at villianous level.
Things to notice:
If you kill one of the gang groups and you get a key without a spot appearing on the map, they appear to be for the jail break.
When doing the bank, I find it works best to wait for the hero near the vault. Especially if you can get them at the bottom of an elevator. (Some banks have them)
If you go in with a large group, stick together and watch out for the longbow ambushes. -

Why is it okay in the Sacred Church of Risk vs. Reward to gain XP by flying through relatively safe zones to click on Contacts or Phone Booths, but not stealthing through an instance full of potential hostiles to click on glowies? Where does that make any sense?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because you do not get XP for clicking on Contacts. (Well, you do for Phone Booths, but there isn't anyone who can't avoid combat doing those) You get XP for doing the mission the Contact sends you to do. So there is STILL a risk involved.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think what he meant, was sometimes you're sent by your contact to go talk to someone (often one of your other contacts). Indigo to Crimson, etc...
You almost always get XP for this at about 1/2 of what a mission would be. -
What I would love is the ability to look at a exploration badge marker and have it tell you what it is.
-
Yea. The ghosts suck. There's a mission late in the game (45-49?) where you have a full level of them.
I've noticed that the bosses are more difficult, but I've got a claws/regen so I'm still pulling thru. However, I was in a mission earlier in the day with one of my buddies who was playing an AR/Dev blaster.
We were doing his mission (I'm 37, he's 39) we had two other chars with us. A protector jumps him, I didn't even have a chance to try to draw agro when the debt meter dinged for him. I was still able to take the protector.
Blasters are supposed to be a bit fragile, but making every little mistake fatal is not making the game fun. -
After reading this, I sense the meaning of the word "fix" is similar to what we did to our cat.
I'll have to agree that if they dial down the damage, they better dial down the agro. The only defense we really have is to take down the opponent(s).
