There's been rough waters before, but the game is still here. CoH has, on the whole, been remarkably resilient to internal and external fuss.

And I reserve the right to cancel my subscriptions, yes all 4 of them if I feel that their rules and regulations are unjust and the issue is their own fault
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, of course. Anything else would be odd. -
[ QUOTE ]
There is nothing in the EULA that says what missions can and cannot be run/made.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not as such, but there is this bit:
"You agree that NC Interactive may take whatever steps it deems necessary to abridge, or prevent behavior of any sort on the Service in its sole discretion, without notice to you." -
[ QUOTE ]
Players that have abused the reward system egregiously may lose benefits they have gained - leading up to and perhaps including losing access to the characters power-leveled in this fashion.
[/ QUOTE ]
*winces* Hoi boy. Well, at least the boards won't be dull. -
[ QUOTE ]
Ok... heres the idea, alot of people are kinda impatient when it comes to veteran rewards, so what if you can purchase your next one
[/ QUOTE ]
That's already in the game, just expect three to sixty months of delivery. -
[ QUOTE ]
In work places before all the PC stuff came in, it wasn't uncommon for 2 men to go out back, sort out their differences and come back in and forget about it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh. Sure it was. And pre-ED the servers were busier, lag was unheard of, broadcast was used for intelligent, considere discourse and everybody wrote the Queen's English with proper punctuation and ortography. -
[ QUOTE ]
I think ya'll look-seeing too much in this here mans speech.
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course. If we didn't, what would we talk about? -
[ QUOTE ]
Posi said what he said. It was amiguous and basically he should have said nothing or been more forthcoming.
[/ QUOTE ]
Eh, it was a standard "could, but" construction. That's not particularly ambigious, even if it's not an absolute negation. -
Farming aside, for purely thematic reasons I'd like to see MA missions give no inf and reduced XP (the "but it's not real" angle.) Then I'd like to see tickets rejigged somewhat with a few more unlockables added -- a fourth AE slot, the ability to give temporary powers to custom mobs, a few costume pieces, some time-limited stuff (24 hours access to emotes or powers from the booster packs, 24 hours of bolding or other emphasis of your published stories in the browser, one-week VIP passport to Pocket D -- stuff like that.)
-
As they're adding the ability to specify a level range for MA arcs in I15, why not just require that arcs have a range, no wider than 5-6 levels, and not give XP or INF when you play arcs outside your current level?
-

Now why exactly did that raise more aggro than usual there, could it be the nerf or the bold face lie that was told after GDN? I wonder.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it was a combination of ED being a strong nerf that affected every character, that it came after a long line of other unpopular (but more specific and limited) nerfs and that it came despite Emmert's infamous "no more nerfs to powers" statement[1].
[1] I still think that was an honest, but very unfortunate, mistake on Emmert's part. I'd assume the developers consider the powers and the enhancements as two different and distinct systems. -
[ QUOTE ]
And then Issue 17: Return of the Moaners
[/ QUOTE ]
Surely that should be "Return of the ED-ies"? -
[ QUOTE ]
Entirely correct. He tried to answer a lot of questions as good as he could without going into discussions. I think he did well considering the amount of questions he got asked.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's annoying how some posts make Positron into a personification for everything people feel are wrong or displeasing about the game, as was it when the same was done to Statesman.
Give the poor guys a break. They've done some great work, both of them. -
[ QUOTE ]
Careful there - positive is a little too close to the name of the Antichrist
[/ QUOTE ]
Huh? "Positive" isn't spelled anywhere close to "The_Question" -
Good luck, Alex. May you always in your journeys find fair skies, welcoming ports, warm women and cold beer.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I get the impression that some are that jaded by what they perceives as wrongs that they wouldn't have liked anything that posi said.
[/ QUOTE ]
Possibly, but regardless ... what was there in what Positron did say that's worth liking? He didn't exactly go overboard on the talking, good or bad. -

You forgot the Hollows as a rewamped zone, Leif.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hollows wasn't revamped -- just given a small facelift. (Which was good for what it was, but nobody sold it as a major zone revamp.)
[ QUOTE ]
Personally i prefer Croatoa over RWZ any day. Can't say much about old Faultline as i didn't know it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Croatoa is a great zone, by all means, but its reception was certainly mixed and it still feels tacked on and not really part of anything else.
[ QUOTE ]
As you said Hero side have many zones and Villians need new zones. So adding a co-op. zones will be best idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or turning Boomtown or even Perez into coop zones. Hell, with a bit of it creative map-design and some well placed arachnos drones and force-fields, it should be quite possible to turn Boomtown into two zones in one: a hazard zone for heroes and a regular zone for villains. (Or vice versa.)
[ QUOTE ]
So in the end New Zones is better than Rewamping old ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see how that follows, or even how you've gainsaid any of the reasons I gave for why revamps are better than new zones. -
Thank you, Scarlet. That was a good read and quite accurate.
-
[ QUOTE ]
So here's me, sucking it down, eating my hat if I had one, and keeping to my word.
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't have a hat? Aw, come on. Here, fella, you can have mine. -
[ QUOTE ]
Can I use this as my new sig ???
[/ QUOTE ]
I see no reason why not. -
[ QUOTE ]
Map editing is way harder than you might think - the current maps are not designed for it, so it'd need new maps to make it work.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. There's plenty of good reasons why it's impractical to make a map editor, so why waffle on about farming? That's just lazy. -
[ QUOTE ]
Although I am finding the forum hilarious; the amount of Doom on these threads is just staggering to behold; the number of people who would jump down peoples throats a year ago for suggesting the game is getting on a bit and the servers are a bit quiet who are now leading the Doom charge has had me chuckling for weeks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just for the record, I don't think this is a matter of CoH being doomed. I rather suspect that CoH will still be here a year from now, probably about as busy as it is now.
All I'm saying is that I've been disappointed by the last few issues, and I am not likely to be here a year from now. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh f'ing please ... Of all the justified and unjustified moanings on these boards this villain persecution complex is the most rediculous.
[/ QUOTE ]
"Of course villains are persecuted. They're villains." -

Wait for the Coming Storm
[/ QUOTE ]
By the looks of it, I'd spend less time waiting for the second coming of Christ.
