One thing I've noticed from CoH Beta on, this is a very stable game. Compared to some games, the servers don't die very often.
-
Unpack? What's up with that? You just move the boxes into your cube/office and unpack as you need!

Then we'll get the torches and pitchforks and head to Austin.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm already here. I'll show you some great bars that we can all get liquored up in before the riots.
[/ QUOTE ]
Alright! You just can't have a good riot without getting liquored up first.
[/ QUOTE ]
If the liquoring up is good enough, we can skip the rioting, wake up the next day and go back tot he liquoring up. -

Sewage has chunks of stuff in it! FOOD!?

*barf*

That has chunks of stuff in it too, but it was food...
[/ QUOTE ]
Excellent work Torak. I'll use that in my continuing crusade to educate people that soup != food. -

SOUP IS FOOD, DAMN YOU.
[/ QUOTE ]
*sigh*
Soup is not food. Chili is food. Chowder is food. Most stews are food. Soup is not food. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also I should note that patron powers don't count as content,
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes they do. Just because it's not content some people want doesn't mean it's not content. I don't like liver, but that doesn't mean it's not food (unlike soup, which really isn't food).
The only disappointment I'm feeling ATM is waiting for villain Khelds. -
I think you're missing something important in here, States.

But it shows human behavior (and this was the point of my talk): people LOVE individuality. Theyre willing to express it. But they wont consider (in game) it worth a lot of time/effort to create a space thats customized for group identity. Clearly, people dont mind group identity (hence, super group costumes) and they love their own personal costume creation.
[/ QUOTE ]
*snip*
[ QUOTE ]
Yet a Super Group costume isnt your creation, either. And yet people wear them. The counterpoint is, of course, that a Super Group costume is in addition to ones normal costume, not instead of. Theres no such personal property in the base. We thought (on paper) that the personal items would do the trick, but it isnt really the same thing, is it?
[/ QUOTE ]
Everybody sees your costume. It's part of your identity to the world. The more people that see it, the more time most folks will spend on it because it means more.
How many folks (I'm sure some do) spend a bunch of time on their character's face all the while knowing it will be obscured by a helmet or mask? Or skin-tone if they plan on being in costume head to toe? There's certainly customization available in there, but if nobody sees it, it doesn't have much impact.
Some sorta way to make bases "public" to your own side might go a long way toward making them have value.
I guess a simple way of putting it is "What good is customization and individuality if nobody gets to see it"?
In SW:G and EQ2 I know many people (tho certainly not all) put hours and hours into their houses even though there was no functionality in it. However, those people would make their houses public so people could see and appreciate their creativity and hard work. -
*shrug* I've still got my respec from I7, my patron Respec and have never gone on a respec mission. No skin off my nose if they don't offer up another.

Congratulations on your new position. New challenges are always fun...well....how about usually fun? Sometimes fun?
At any rate, have a good time with the Rasa people. -

I really don't see what the people that are complaining are freakin crying about?

Because, generally speaking, gamers are the whiniest lot of beings that ever processed oxygen..
[/ QUOTE ]
Political activists are pretty damn whiny. No matter the side, no matter the issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
True.
I suppose if you got a political activist that enjoyed some gaming on their time off, they'd exceed the whine index to a point where the earth would implode.
Then I'd be sad. -

Have they sent any messages out yet? I haven't received anything yet.

Got mine a short while ago.

Even broader - I've seen the term used even when a power was getting strengthened - called a "Good Nerf" or a "Positive Nerf".
[/ QUOTE ]
In my experience, anything getting strengthened was a buff, ie "*insert ability name here* got buffed to double damage". Recently domination was buffed.
However "good nerfs" would apply to things like lowering the strength of something in the game that's their opponent. Reducing the AV regen rate recently would be a "good nerf" or a "positive nerf". -

5. After I robbed the bank, I looked at my message window to see what was ambushing me - and it was Numina! Holy Hero, Batman! Luckily I was on Vicious so she was an Elite Boss, and I had a ton of inspirations, but even so it was a near thing. If I'd been playing a dominator or corruptor, there's no way I could have beaten her. This is not good. Not because fighting signature heros isn't cool - it is, very much so. But these missions are part of your Broker cycle, which means you must complete them in order to even start on new contacts. The missions should be easily completable by any AT on Villainous. Heroes/Elite Bosses are not a good idea in broker missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really an issue as the mission will run out within 20 min or so. -
[ QUOTE ]
No it appears that he is complaining that he doesn't want to play to the world background. I can understand that, and COH has more freedom to ignore the world story in that regard.
[/ QUOTE ]
When CoV started you had exactly one starting contact, and that was to follow Recluse.
Now there's two Recluse's Kalinda and the more mercenary path.
It's possible, and this is what I'd be begging, hollering and yelling for, an extension of what they already started which would be an alternate, non-Arachnos aligned means of getting 40+ powers (hopefully the Epic sets). -

And who says CuppaJo has to be a hero, huh? Why not a villain? -

Celt, ya gotta copy the heart to your computer and upload it to some other webspace. They don't "keep" the image you created, so you have to find someplace to host it.
