I can't gather iXP stats because my characters already have everything unlocked. I don't have the patience to wait for iXP, I just burn Threads into iXP. I could gather Influence gains, though; but I never cared much about influence gains from defeating enemies. The market is where all the influence is at.

Edit: logs for the last 3 days parsed (sadly I already deleted everything else). The numbers are:

    1,566,948 BAF*
    1,565,836 Lambda*
    1,887,800 BAF
    2,638,230 Lambda
    1,411,972 BAF*
    1,624,462 Lambda*
    1,287,620 Keyes
    2,395,050 Lambda
    1,190,609 BAF

(*) Supergroup mode was enabled in this character; I doubled the inf gains to compensate.

The influence gains jump around too much to be of any use. Remember that influence comes from defeats, and it's up to the team if they want to clear the Lambda road or just head inside, or the amount of ambushes in BAF if the fight drags long, or the number of respawns in Keyes. The amount is not very significant in any case.

Would have been a lot earlier if I didn't take a complete break from COH in May. I'm about due for another break now; got some games in the last Steam sale that are waiting for my attention.
  3. Since the drop rate for Incarnate trial components was adjusted in the April 26th patch, I've been collecting data on every trial I've run. A little while ago I finished trial #100, for an average of 1.28 trials per day, and I want to share the information I collected. The raw data is here. In total, I ran 48 BAFs, 28 Lambdas, and 24 Keyes.

    Component Drops

We know there is a threshold of activity below which a player only gets 10 threads, and above that they get a Component. Assuming that there's only one threshold (you either get threads, or a component of random quality), we can gather drop rates from it. And my numbers are...

For me, over 100 runs, the drops heavily hinted at 10% Very Rares, 20% Rares, 30% Commons, and 40% Uncommons. The drops were somewhat streaky, though: I got three Very Rares in a row, and two Rares in a row twice.

Note that I was using two characters to run trials, and one of them got 8 Very Rares, and the other got 2, both running a very close number of trials. This is a prime example of the RNG being random; all comes down to luck. I went 30 runs without a Very Rare, and a the moment it's been 19 runs since my last Very Rare.

    Completion Time

I measure the time from the first "radio transmission" to the moment the final AV is defeated. I don't use zoning into the map as a starting point because then the opening cutscene time would appear in some runs but not in others, screwing up the data; also, not everybody zones in at the same time. The first speech bubble gives me a good consistent point in which to begin measuring.

BAF: The fastest BAF run took 13:34; the worst, 35:33. Don't ask about that one. It was a horrible, horrible situation and I swore to never speak of it again. The average time to complete was 17:45; the median time, 17:09.

Lambda: The fastest run took 19:33; the slowest, 34:06. The average completion time was 25:08, and the median, 24:26. While it is longer than BAF, it's not that much longer; and usually, at least on Freedom, people run both back to back.

Keyes: Oh boy. Keyes. The fastest run took 31:46, and the slowest, 54:20; the average time to complete was 41:19, and the median, 41:15. If run with people who know exactly what to do, sub-40 minute times are the norm. If you have to explain things to people, better schedule an hour for this trial.

I sorted the data in order to show the "time trends" better:

The worst BAF runs will still be faster than the best Lambda runs (I'm still not talking about that extremely bad run that soils the graph) and the worst Lambda runs will be faster than the best Keyes runs. It's no surprise that broadcast in Pocket D sees a lot of "looking for anything but Keyes".

I agree. I have no interest in zone or arena PVP, but I would participate in objective-based PVP where it's team vs. team and you kill the other players in order to stop their progress so your team can win, not as the only objective.

Not gonna happen. Powers devs have been working in the Time Manipulation set and in Proliferation 3.0. That leaves no development time for PVP at all.

Well, the PVP redesign was Castle's baby and he's gone, so the new Powers devs might have new ideas on how to tackle PVP. But I wouldn't hold my breath. I'd say the chances are slim to none for the next 12 months.

There's always the Arena, of course. You can shut off both options for Arena matches.

Do you have to defeat the enemies personally or as part of group too?
If you're level 45 you are unlikely to have killed all of them unless you were sidekicked up to a group doing Maria's arc. The Gull has been spot on with the AVs I needed to defeat, and it does tell characters something different when they're done.

I would delete them from Photobucket if I were you, people who used them and suddenly find their sig missing will come back here to ask what went wrong and can grab a new version
  10. It was already stated by Black Scorpion during the Praetorian Surge events (and again during a Ustream chat) that there's Proliferation planned for i21.

Baby steps. I'll be MUCH happier if it were to just show how many people are currently on the queue.

Do that. I just did. If you want to copy/paste, here is my text:

On 07/01/2011 at 17:58 Eastern (14:58 Pacific) my character "Doctor Leo" on the Freedom server was on a Keyes Island Reactor trial, attempting the "Avoids the Green Stuff" badge with Kotchie as league leader. This badge requires players to avoid being hit by the Obliteration beam. We did so successfully, but the badge was not awarded. Pets had been caught on the team, so we assumed this was the issue, and I posted about it here:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?p=3721846

Today, Avatea confirmed that this behavior is a bug, and not as intended, and that pets being hit should not have failed us the badge. This is her post on the matter:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showpost.php?p=3726437

Due to this, I please request that the badge "Avoids the Green Stuff" be awarded to my character Doctor Leo, as he did comply with the badge requirements (as did the whole league). One player on that league had petitioned about this before, and he did get it awarded, as posted in here:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showpost.php?p=3726618

    Thanks in advance,
    Leandro.
  14. This is now confirmed by Avatea.

Will my league who had the displeasure to find this get the badge retroactively awarded? It was on the Freedom server, the trial ended at 18:58pm on 07/01/2011 with Kotchie as league leader.

Edit: someone else on my league was awarded it by a GM. Sending a petition now.

I'm not in the US. By "any time of the day" I mean I can log on at 6AM GMT-3 (my timezone) or at 2PM GMT-3 or at 10PM GMT-3. There's always enough people to get one started.

The signature includes badge runs; badge runs take longer to both form and run because of all the planning beforehand and instructions during. They have no relevance to this post, which is focusing on end rewards/time. Also, even taking the longer badge runs into account, my average run time is still 17:53 and the median 16:41. This is nowhere near "1 hour per empyrean", for BAF at least.

Um, what? What server are you on? I can log onto Freedom at any time of the day and be in a BAF within 5 minutes, and they are done in under 15 minutes.

Complete bull, and we have a precedent: Task Forces. People have been duoing or even soloing difficult task forces, but there have not been mass calls for removing the requirement of initial number of players.

This check makes it super easy to grief a trial. Join a trial that plans to run with the minimum number of players, then do nothing. If they kick you, THEY FAIL THE TRIAL! It's ridiculous.
  21. So we have a league of 12 doing Keyes, no problem. At some point, one person disconnects; no big deal, that usually happens. We complete first reactor, we complete second reactor. All is going well. We get to third reactor with 11 players, collect 8 glowies, and this giant red text appears:

    "TOO FEW PLAYERS TO CONTINUE!"

Trial instantly failed. 30 minutes down the drain. What the hell, devs? Just WHAT THE HELL?

Hi Morna. Unfortunately I was online until about 7:30am EST, and then had to urgently drive my mom to the doctor due to a blood pressure spike. Kotchie sent me a few messages, but I just got home 20 minutes ago.

I'll just have to start leading the darn things myself now. Drat.
