Better yet, why not just make 'em available to sell/trade? I've got a whole stack of 'em I'm never going to use, and I'm sure there's a sucke--discerning customer that'd love to take mine off my hands.

Oh, didn't realize that. Guess I'll have to queue up for one again. Thanks.
Also, thirding Brad and Xzero's sentiments on King's Row. I wouldn't mind a "high res" update, as it were, but I really love the feel of the zone and would hate to see that change. And we definitely need more "good" Crey at low levels, especially since we don't have them playing a role in the tutorial anymore. -
"Managed" kind of isn't the tense to use. He "will has been managing", maybe?
Stupid time travel. -
Quote:Did I miss something? I didn't notice any story in DiB at all outside of "go there, kill stuffs". And yes, I read the briefings that the Longbow commander was giving. Or at least...I thought I did.
Positron: We did the story of Drowning in Blood because there was the unanswered question of why are these Shivans different than the ones we know from Bloody Bay? Bloody Bay will remain as it is to give some grounding for the story of Drowning in Blood to make sense. -
Day one purchase. I'll unleash it right around the center-point of Steel Canyon (just northeast of Cooke's Electronics), and receive me a viable solo Incarnate system.

To a limited, "cottage rule" sort of extent, I don't think that would necessarily be an issue. After all, let's say somewhere down the line, the Devs decide that Demon Summoning needs to be rebalanced somehow. Is it exempt from nerfs (or buffs, for that matter), because people paid extra for it, assuming it was going to be a certain way?

The worst part is that a lot of them "open" their story arcs the moment you do the introduction, meaning you can't even outlevel them. For someone like me, who likes to keep his contact list uncluttered, that's a giant pain. I'll often just auto-complete those missions, or, if it's too soon to do an auto-complete (like how I got "introduced" to both Wincott and Peebles in one weekend) I'll accept the mission on a contact I don't care about, and then abandon it when it's been safely outleveled anyway.

I'm starting to think you guys don't really understand the idea behind "microtransactions".

I have to admit, I had been hoping they'd fix Umbra Beast before this weekend.

Quote:Perhaps they are, y'know, deliberately avoiding releasing new sets right before DXP weekend? They probably want folks to spend a little time with the new sets they worked so hard on, rather than PL-race them to 50.None they were utterly destroyed by the devs withholding staff fighting that has been ready about a month now. Someone said it is not coming until April. Why the heck put it on BETA in Jan? early feb and then have it just sit there for 2-3 months eventhough it is ready and you know there is high demand.

For my heroes, particularly for my former villain who had worked with Wade before and knew what he was up to, yeah, Darrin Wade in SSA2 would've been the big one. I can suspend my disbelief from an in-character/out-of-character standpoint, and say that most of my hero characters simply weren't clued in enough as to who the guy with the inexplicable Nictus powers was at the time.
But my Fire/Dark Brute, who had previously been told, point blank, from the man himself, that he was a Rularuu cultist would've "arrested" the everloving crap out of him the moment he showed up during a Rularuu cult raid.
Similarly, there would've been a lot of ignoring of ambushes in SSA3. Particularly when Blitz got in his helicopter-thing, most of my heroes would've gone "k, see ya" and proceeded after the badguys.
Villainside, there's less, though as similarly described by others, I often take an in-character approach at resolution to Westin Phipps that, let's just say, results in my pretending he's "phased out" after his arcs.
Oh, this reminded me of another one. I still haven't figured out why any of my Vigilantes just kind of let her go in the level 50 Alignment mission. -
One of my very first characters in the game was designed as a "master of blades", based loosely on a very, very old RPG character I had, back in the day. He originally used Claws, since that was the closest I could come to the idea, but it was Dual Blades, and the ability to customize weapons that came out alongside it, that really made him work.

Quote:Personally, I love AT uniqueness. But uniqueness doesn't equate to unique powersets. Rather, I think that it's simply the case that an Elec/Elec Stalker should play differently from an Elec/Elec Scrapper, who should in turn play differently from an Elec/Elec Brute or Tank.I'd like to add that I also want less AT uniqueness, imo AT is just the style in which you tackle a problem I for one don't want to play a SS stalker But an SS/Nin Scrapper does appeal to me so less uniqueness means more freedom and isn't that subtitle of this game anyways?
And I think that, for the most part, the game is pretty successful at making that happen, which is in part why it's less necessary for specific sets to be restricted. -
Quote:Yeah, really, my first thought is that a Super Strength Stalker sounds like something straight out of a monster movie. Granted, a lot of said monsters tend to have claws and stuff, too, but I think it works. They'd have to switch out Rage for Build Up, which might have strange effects on the set, though, so it'd probably take a little work.A Nacht Fist enters a room after hearing a commotion. He looks around to see the broken bodies of his comrades. Some are groaning or whimpering. Others don't make a sound. There's no sign of anyone else. He looks around, trying to find telltale signs of who the attacker was and where they went.
Pain, so intense that it could almost be white hot fire, surges through his body. Trying to turn, he soon realises his body isn't responding. Realization dawns in his agony-addled mind just as the light leaves his eyes.
Looking down at the ground, Column Breaker smiles. More approach, their footsteps echoing down the warren of tunnels and bunkers. Wrapping the shadows around himself he fades from sight, readying himself to break whoever approaches.
Granted, they'd also have to change Hand Clap for Assassin's Punch, but nobody care about Hand Clap anyway, so no problem. -
Well, even if the "big" boosters don't go on sale this week (and honestly, I don't think our devs are crazy enough to do that), there are still the 25% boosters that are already out.

I have to work!
Unfortunate, because I had Friday off, and then the weekend as normal, then I sort of changed jobs and Friday and Saturday are both going to be spent being responsible n'stuff.
What time I can manage, though, I plan on working my Dark/Dark Dominator. -
I finally got a chance to really start working on my Dark/Dark this weekend. Probably leveled more than I ever have before in one weekend (not counting 2XPs, anyway). It was that fun.
If it kept the PBAoE in place of Night Fall, it'd be nigh-perfect (I still would've liked Shadow Punch too, just in terms of style, but can cope). As it is, I feel it is still nigh-nigh perfect. -
Quote:I don't have a real problem with the current Phalanx TFs, for the most part. They're vanilla, but so is the vast majority of teamed content, just by its nature. And they tend to be good for XP and badges for whatever group you're up against.I think it'd be pretty cool if I23 had a revamp of all the Freedom Phalanx TFs to reflect the new situations in the game world - Positron takes over a revamped STF, Penny Yin gives a new TF in the same range as Sister Psyche's TF, Citadel's TF deals with the Council-5th Column war, and so on.
But if it takes a revamp to all of them in order to finally fix Numina's stupidly motivated stupid hunts ("I have no idea what we're doing anymore, so just go beat people up until that machine goes ding."), then bring 'em on. -
I've been having this same problem. I was going to report it in i22's beta, but it looked like people were already detailing it out more than I could, so I just sort of assumed a fix was in the works. Guess not. Tried logging in yesterday, and my windows get moved all over the place, generally when I zone. It's not earth shattering, but it is frustrating enough for me to go play something else rather than have to reset things every time.

Beast Mastery continues to fail at "wow"ing me. It seems weak in terms of power, and lacking in terms of style, with too little variety of "beasts". It's a shame, because I really do want to like the set, but it'll probably the first pay-extra set that I won't be purchasing.
-
It never, never, never, ever fails. New issue release to live (or even a new open beta)? And I'm out of town on business, using my laptop that can't really handle this game. But still, I'm looking into getting a little bit in this evening. Already patching, and when I get back this afternoon, I'll have to get some of those Veteran Super Packs, and at least create my Dark/Dark Dom.
Been...distracted for a while, but definitely have been looking forward to this! -
Quote:I forget boosters even exist most of the time, so oops on that.Attuned Purples can be slotted at level 7 and will level up with you (increasing in power as you level). They can not take Boosters. Note that being 'Attuned' does not mean that their strength will exemplar down with you. Aspect scaling while exemplared applies the same way to Attuned as non-Attuned enhancements.
But what's this "attuned purples can be slotted at 7" thing? Are they actually in the game already somehow, or is that just diving into the spreadsheets? I only ask because if it's the latter, I'd expect it to change before any such things were brought live. Getting Purple bonuses before DOs would be pretty spiffy, but probably not very balanced. -
I believe there's also Aware, which is "not even being remotely considered, will you please, please just stop asking for it".

Quote:To be fair, I think Ryan Seacrest similarly survived a dirty suit relatively unphased.INCIDENTAL misfortune (a'la the "World's Funniest Home Videos "baseball to the nards" shot", etc), can be funny. Mostly because it's unintentional, somewhat unexpected, and you have a reasonable suspicion that the person survived relatively unphased (at least once the stinging wore off and the language calmed down).
-
Presumably a case of caveat emptor. Personally, the characters who I would love enough to buy a separate slot for individually, though, are not likely to come up on my to-be-deleted list.
