  1. Another thing with just that one toon. If I do try to log it in, it says problem with the game database..blah blah, with an OK click box....and it boots me to log in!!!

I think it is toon specific! Tonight I deleted 3 toons (well 2).. 2 of them deleted, gone, no problem....the 3rd has no picture of my toon either and when I delete it, it is gone....but log out and in and it is back. With no picture...just his name. Very annoying!! Devs still reading this thread? It is old! Hope so!

My Fire/Fire scrapper has the best mitigation in the game, bar none......dead things don't attack me. (even nastier after i18/GR buffs/changes)

I know they actually turned the sound down a while back (maybe two years ago) because they were so loud they were heard through walls which caused played to spend time looking in the wrong places.

I know at one point there was a stickied thread here that showed how to exchange sounds with other sounds. I'm not sure if it would be possible to change the glowie sound with something of the players choosing or not but it sure would be nice to change it to a lovely ding or school bell type ring.

I know this doesn't really help but maybe you can find the stickied thread and/or a tech savvy guru will show up! Good luck, I'll be watching this thread!
Myabe it's the sound card.....but everything else sounds fine/normal....so makes me wonder. And our other computer hears them fine, yes, even thru walls! lol
  5. Thanks! That is our work around right now...crank it when looking for glowies! But she has to defeat all, then go back alot of the time, with sound way up! lol
  6. Hi all! Actually this has always been the case on my wifes computer......she can barely hear glowies...even standing right next to them. Makes some mishs quite hard to solve!

She has an NVidia card. Can't remember the exact one at the moment. (older one) Any common fixes for this, or this problem uncommon?? Just thought I would see if this is an easy, oh yeah I have heard of that problem, type of fix......cause i don't wanna get to crazy trying to fix it if it is a big deal! btw, all other sound works fine, so it seems.

    Thanks for any help!

btw, Je Saist.....just hit your back button please .....I am officially requesting that you do not try to "help" me! Thank you, and have a great day!

try reading the community digest every once in a while... or the developer digest for that matter.
Do you seriously not have anything better to do but mouth off to people with your useless knowledge??

I am editing this, your knowledge is not useless, but the way you cram it down peoples throats all over the forums is pathetic. That is all.
  9. Well, that can sure kill any Preatoria fun for some people, I really don't wanna play on a server I don't know. Oh well!
  10. Hi Devs! Just wondering.....it has already been brought up that character transfers don't seem to be working, and you have offered free transfers from today til 23rd....so how about addressing this issue? I would really like to move some toons so I can make new ones on the server I would like to. I know there are probably alot of things keeping you busy, but I imagine that to some players, this is a huge deal and should have some priority.

    Thanks!

Actually an update, for me anyways, rename and transfer aren't even there anymore on my character screen.

As we can see, i'm in SLI mode so the second monitor is greyed out:

So, disabled SLI and enabled the second monitor:

Now both displays are lit up

    Enable SLI again:

Much to my surprise the second monitor stayed turned on:

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. ATi solved keeping the second monitor on during multi-gpu long ago and Nvidia had to catch up sometime.

If you check the text on the control panel, it does tell you what is going on.

    It says:

So I checked by running Heaven 2.1 benchmark in DirectX 10 mode on both monitors:

At this windowed resolution (1280*1024, the maximum resolution of the second monitor), a Geforce GTS 250 is hardly being stressed. Also, I was running it in Windowed mode, not full-screen mode. As best as I can tell with the software I had on hand, I can't tell a full screen 3D application to run on the second monitor. Full-screen 3D applications will only run on the first monitor.

Which leads up to the performance difference between the two.

In windowed mode Heaven 2.1 scored, the GTS 250 scored 1350 points.

Changing nothing but the windowed mode to full screen mode, the score shot up to 1534 points. Sorry, no screenshots. Full screenschots and Heaven 2.1 in full screen mode often make for unstable experience on Nvidia.

I don't know exactly how Nvidia defines the term full 3D Acceleration, or what the actual limits are.

From the short test here, you sacrifice a good bit of potential performance for windowed applications on multi-gpu setups.
Clean your room! What a mess!!!

There's a very good reason Microsoft canned the plans for Xbox 360 to share multiplayer components with Windows Client games: http://www.rahulsood.com/2010/07/con...gainst-pc.html

The usage of a 360 controller was also a factor in Microsoft canning Champions Online. Beyond quality control issues and constant binary updates, reports stated that CO 360 testers never could get the game to "feel" right, even though Cryptic largely limited how CO was interacted with to be usable against a game controller.

In order for a game controller to be effective the developers would have to rework the entire user-interface and chat system, as well as the entire power system. It's just not worth the effort.

Since it's not worth the developers effort to rework the user-interface system to account for the limitations of a game-pad, it's extremely unlikely that the developers will go out of their way to address "compatibility" problems.
What color are the clouds where you live??? Every single person I know in game (that I have asked so far anyways) uses a game pad.....as do I. I cannot imagine using a keyboard and mouse! Ever! Fine for Wow and all it's knock offs, where the pace is slow....but CoH?? I would quit if they got rid of controller support!

It isn't "nothing" (Obviously), but more so... there is a good amount of stuff there. No, it is not a normal amount, but it is the free content coming alongside Going Rogue.
Whether you, personally, care for it or not, publicly calling a reworked Cathedral Of Pain nothing is wrong.
Nothing for you, but your whole post was explaining how most people would see this in an in-between patch and shrug.
It speaks to a bit too much expected entitlement, no?
C'mon. Lighten up... This development team is doing some great stuff.
    "Meh... nothing..."
    Hehe...

Not to mention... The Tips missions may be something rather cool. And constant content coming from a new angle... plus it may be something that is expanded on further. We don't know that all arcs that come from Tips are morality mission arcs... By the sounds of it, I'd suspect there to be more to it than that. New arcs starting from incidental play. Sounds like content.
Opinions are neither right, nor wrong! Their opinions, not statements of fact. Look it up in a dictionary if you don't believe me!

Yeah? Tell them to make a few new mission maps while they are at it! Done the same 5 for wayyyyyyyy too long!!!!!!! I don't even read the words (stories) anymore....just want shiney new powers, spiffy "new" content, and exciting new mission maps...not the same ones, with different wallpaper! Since you are so close to them, maybe you can get that goin for us.....thx!!!

btw, love and praise them all you want, no closed beta for you!!!!!!

    That's "nothing" alright!

As "my opinion" stated (I can have one here, right???).... to ME, a "good" issue is powers related and content related.....anything else is just gravy and gets boring after a week...to ME anyways!

    Thank you for listening tho!
  17. Basically issue 18 is............um...............ahhh............not hing really?? Most those things would just pop up in any old patch one day without notice, and people would say, cool, and go about their business. I know GR is coming out, so why not save the name "issue 18: Shades of Grey" for when you actually have some powers, or content updates??? That is what makes a good issue, to me anyways. Not quality of life stuff...that should just come, or be PART of an issue.

    Anyways, just my opinion. Meh...
  18. I was indeed wrong.....never hold my inf long enough to top 2bil on one toon. But still, keeping it in an E-mail...especially after the reports of problems just like this one, seems......wrong!

Why on earth would you keep that much inf just sitting in Email cyberspace??? You know toons can hold unlimited amounts, right?? And quite safely! Wow.......I guess you live and learn!

and will they have to take a back seat to tankers because they are squishier

the brute seems like the Jack-of-all trades character, but master of none
LOL NO scrapper can do what a brute can do! They do way more damage when fury high, and they can be buffed defensively to almost tank levels. I got my 1st brute to 50, and IO'd him out. He is dark/inv and can do things that my scrappers could never do!
  21. Seems to me PvP is still pretty popular....u just have to go to Freedom. lol

I do agree with one thing here. The attitudes and crap talk by SOME pvp'ers will turn a noob's tail for the door quick! I have had nights where everyone is cool in the zones, and it can be alot of fun! You can ask ppl for 1 vs 1's to try your build out and what not and everyone is happy! Other times however, one or two or more ppl are mad cause they probably lost to a said noob, and all they do after is insult anyone who enters their target window. That will make alot of people leave the zone and never come back for sure. At first I got sucked into their talk and got myself pretty mad bantering with those fools, but I learned the best way is to simply turn off the chat of the opposing faction, and suddenly, all is well!

So my advise, turn off the opposing factions chat when you are in the zones, let them talk crap all day, and you will be none the wiser!!

Thank You, have a nice day!

P.S. It has been my experience that the majority of the trash talkers are kids, so remember that and laugh to yourself next time. You can always put them on your ignore list too, if you don't want to turn the chat right off!
