so someone posts a 'hey everyone, here's an arc i enjoyed!' thread, and the forum heavies turn it into a witch-hunt. Disgraceful behaviour.

No, only when the subject material warrants it.

And I would have let it go with one post if people hadn't yanked my chain.

    You disgust me.

Seriously Witch Engine, just apologize for your arc kicking Venture's dog, and the healing can begin.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That won't solve anything, since it's reached the point where the entire MA Forum has started arguing with Venture. Actually if anything, this is getting Witch Engine tons of exposure.

While the rating of the arc drops. Law of Averages has already taken hold.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's funny actually, because near the start of this thread, the arc had over 90% 5-star votes, and nearly a hundred votes. Once the 'forum cartel' folk latched on, it all of a sudden got hit with a bunch of 1 and 2 star votes that have been coming in in bursts. But not before, and the arc had literally been around months, and hadn't been advertised at all. My supergroup has 4 active players, and my coalition has another 6-8, so I know those prior masses of 5-star votes weren't from them. We're a small crew.

The lesson here is, don't dare upset the Forum Cartel because apparently they've got connections. :P

I apologize, sincerely, for starting this thread.

Great arc, reminded of the already mentioned Buffy episode. 5-starred it.
Just wish I weren't in the 5th difficulty, my Stalker took forever to take down the AVs...

Same here. First time I did it with my PB on lvl 4, took them all down ok.

Then I tried with my scrapper on lvl 5 and Mako got me.

Now Im off to try Uncreation.

    Stygian Circle

I slot two, because my build is different than most. I run assault and tactics and strive to stay in human form, so when Im done fighting a tough group, my blue bar has most times bottomed out, and stygian will fill it up again off of as little as 2 minions.

I dont use stygian for staying alive, I use it to move on to the next group faster than if I waited for natural recovery or rest to occur. I use essence drain to stay alive mid battle.

I ran the entire arc with my lvl 39 Human only PB, and I guess because I have no stealth at all, did not see any of the glitches in the dialog.
The zombies were very well done, I just wish there was a way you could get some rez action into their powers. I mean, zombies, like Freakshow, shouldn't be killed once, but over and over again. I would love to see a zombie get up after I just killed it, and make me kill it again.

I totally didn't catch the twist until the final mission. Man that was good writing to keep me distracted for so long.
  6. I only have one character that has this slotted, and it is my MA/SR scrapper in his Focus Chi power, which has the full 6 piece Gaussians set, for the Defensive Set bonuses.
Since Focus Chi is itself a BU power, any benefit I receive from the proc would be right at the first one or 2 attacks after the proc fires. I never really notice it being a wow experience any more than an unexpected critical would.

This is, without a doubt, the best MA arc I've played to date.

    Thank you Witch Engine
  8. Describe how you think he was a tank. Curious.

    Screw Rad blast

Just change the color of the rad blast set to black!

    Voila!! Dark blasts!!
  10. I have an AR/Dev at 50 and an AR/EM at 50. They are both great at team and solo blastering. The /Dev is a bit slower, but much safer. The /EM is a total domination after Boost Range. What a great asset to any team, as well as being so good as a soloing farmer that I used it for my Marketeer, the one toon I got all my common IO recipes memorized on and builds for the rest of the SG. He is just frankenslotted, and is still powerful enough to be my workhorse for the rest of my stable of heroes.

My AR/Dev is my first 50 blaster and will always hold a special place for me. He is the one I always run new content with, first to complete successful ITF and KahnTF. Just fun to play and never lets me down. IF CoX ever closes down its servers for good, I'll be on my AR/Dev blaster when they pull the plug.

    Stygian Circle

Its so good I only 3 slotted it.

    1 rech, 2 EndMod
  12. Too late for this one I know, but how about making Rikti Invasion weekends be Double Vanguard Merit weekends? Either double the chance of getting them or double the amount you get. Im finding it hard to even care the Rikti are trying to invade again.
  13. Psy Wail is one of the most Team Friendly nukes out there. Use it whenever the group is gathered. As AF says, be mindful of bosses in the group, cause they will really be PO'd.

Do not nuke to start an AV fight, ever. Tanks love having minions around to add to their defense, tohit, end recovery, depending on what their primary is.
  14. I use the Full Concealment Pool (well, not Grant Inv) on my Energy/Fire blaster. I also have Aid Self 6 slotted.

With Phase Shift you can herd. If 2 groups are close together but too far apart for a Nova to hit them all I bunch them up by Phase Shifting, running into the middle of both groups then escaping around a corner. They follow but I must say this is a tactic best used while soloing, because if they see any teammates that interest them more than you they will not follow you. While still in Phase Shift I then hit Aim and BU, drop Phase Shift and then Nova.

When there are a group that like to stand at attention in close proximity, like Nemesis and some Council and or 5th Column, you can use Full Invisibility to stand in the middle of them with your damage toggles on and still remain undetected. This is because Invisibility from the Concealment pool gives you Affecting only Self status. This is superior to say, SS and Celerity+Stealth. Can you think of creative ways to use this to your advantage? I bet you can.

You can think of all kinds of crazy fun things to do with Concealment powers. They generally do not need more than just the base slot, and give you the ability to have some fun with new tactics on a build you werent having too much fun with before.

    Give them a try.
  15. Its not Knockout Blow at 17 ft. Thats a real abberation.

What size you think is appropriate 15 ft? 12 ft? 10ft?

Im happy with 9 ft. It already uses more than enough end.

EDIT: I spoke too soon, looks like Midnight Grasp also has a 17 ft. radius.
  16. Bash 5 ft
    Pulverize 8 ft
    Jawbreaker, Clobber 9ft
Whirling Mace, Shatter, Crowd Control 8 ft

How big does it need to be? It can still only hit 5 guys.
  17. Im running normal missions and selling my salvage drops for big buXXorZ. Plus there are guys doing the obvious flipping.

Its obvious supply and demand and the supply has dried up, but the demand hasn't.
  18. My favorite AE mission is Kill All, so I don't subscribe to this idea that they are bad ideas. If there is a REASON to do it, in the context of the story, then I'll be happy to.
IE, "Go into that warehouse and don't let anyone come out alive"...."These evil mutant kitty cats must be eradicated"..."Squash these guys and don't let anyone escape to tell the tale of what we have done"
  19. I just tested this in Jump Kick. It works. I do not use Jump Kick much. I just took it to 6 slot Force Feedback into it for the 3.13% AoE defense bonus on my /SR scrapper.
  20. Im close to soft capped w/o the fighting Pool on a very expensive (so far) build. I still took elude at 49. It's nice security.
  21. Dark/Dark/Soul is my main villain. I have 2 builds but neither would appeal to you as I prefer the Leaping Pool.

Dark Armor is a tough secondary to love because it is resistance based on an AT that doesn't have much HP to play with, requires toggle management to leverage the benefits of Hide, and is somewhat end heavy, but not unmanageable. It has a great heal but its activation time is sometimes painfully long. I find myself many times just punching my way out of danger, and then resting to recover health, just because I dont want to let up on the offense.

I personally love it, always have. But really there is no "best" build for it. Just play the way that feels right for you and you will have fun.
  22. Actually, these are Rogue Vanguard. Bosses are meant to be very tough.
  23. Oh come on! Don't cry about nerfing the Malta! I love killing them. It's what my AR/Dev was built to do. Kill Malta. They were too easy before. Now they're just right.
  24. Sounds like somebody got brawled to death.
