I am seeking advice on a blaster I am wanting to play. Would the Coh community please give me their opinions on these two blasters.

Elec/elec or AS/devices or AS/(other recomindation)

Elec/Elec is a good set but it blooms a little later than the others in my opinion. The real jewels of the set come in when you get short circuit and power sink if you want to be able to sapp mobs. Sapping is a bit of a topic around here as it's an all or nothing soft control method, you either take all their endurance with short circuit and power sink used together, or you don't take enough endurance to stop them from attacking.

If you go the sapper route it's good to watch the mobs just sit there with no endurance and unable to do much while you waste them away. The ability to sapp makes up for any lower damage or slower recharge times elec/elec will see over other blaster builds. While I don't play much with the melee powers from /elec it's widely recognized they are some of the best in blaster sets as well. If you wind up going elec/elec/elec then you'll find yourself with 3 hold total, 2 of which are at range, which helps even further to control the mobs and lock down a boss to a non-threat. I love my elec/elec/elec blaster and would recommend one any day.

I can't speak for AS but I am really enjoying my elec/elec blaster at level 38. It took a while to get things slotted for endurance drain but I think it was worth the wait. The play style is completely different from anything else I've run and it's been fun to experiment.

Today, I sapped Jurassik dry and kept his blue bar zeroed almost the entire fight. I was the only one draining. One of my teammates wanted to marry me. Apparently, sapping is sexy.

I agree with Eneryman. Sapping and the holds give you pretty good control, which helps the survivability factor when I'm solo. And I'm solo a lot.

Pardon my ignorance but, AS? I have never seen a set abreviated this way... is it supposed to be AR? Or am I totally missing something?

I have an AR/Dev at 50 and an AR/EM at 50. They are both great at team and solo blastering. The /Dev is a bit slower, but much safer. The /EM is a total domination after Boost Range. What a great asset to any team, as well as being so good as a soloing farmer that I used it for my Marketeer, the one toon I got all my common IO recipes memorized on and builds for the rest of the SG. He is just frankenslotted, and is still powerful enough to be my workhorse for the rest of my stable of heroes.

My AR/Dev is my first 50 blaster and will always hold a special place for me. He is the one I always run new content with, first to complete successful ITF and KahnTF. Just fun to play and never lets me down. IF CoX ever closes down its servers for good, I'll be on my AR/Dev blaster when they pull the plug.
