Concealment for an AoE blaster?

Would it make sense to take the concealment power pool for a Fire/MM blaster that is focusing on AoE and PBAoE? Would it be better suited for a blaster that is focusing on single targets?

Also, what power pools would you recommend I use? I'm currently thinking Superspeed, Fitness, and Leadership.

I have stealth on my fire/ice but is concept... it does help setting up prior to laying down the pain though...

I like the Concealment pool.

[u]Phase Shift[u] - great when nuking a huge crowd; it lets you stand there in the middle and keep the critters interested in you instead of fleeing from the AoE. Also great for getting out of trouble.

[u]Invisibility[u] - You can ghost your way through a mission or zone, picking your spots. Great for sizing up the the enemy.

[u]Stealth[u] - added defense bonus and good cover from a distance. I like it early on, but don't use it after I get Invisibility.

[u]Grant Invisibility[u] - Meh. Never took it.

Nice about the Phase Shift. I never thought of that ....

What other pools did you take/recommend I look at?

I also recommend Medicine (Aid Self) & Fitness (Stamina).

My Fire/MM has Fitness (hurdel, health, stamina), Leaping (Combat Jumping, Super Jump, Acro) and Speed (hasten. Superspeed). Superspeed w/ Celerity takes away the need for concealment as a pool offering PVE invis all with only 1 power. SS allows to get in the middle of a spawn to open with Drain Psyche and PSW practically unscathed, and CJ+hurdle allow to jump out of the spawn for your Firebreath, Psyscream, Fireball Combo.

I use the Full Concealment Pool (well, not Grant Inv) on my Energy/Fire blaster. I also have Aid Self 6 slotted.

With Phase Shift you can herd. If 2 groups are close together but too far apart for a Nova to hit them all I bunch them up by Phase Shifting, running into the middle of both groups then escaping around a corner. They follow but I must say this is a tactic best used while soloing, because if they see any teammates that interest them more than you they will not follow you. While still in Phase Shift I then hit Aim and BU, drop Phase Shift and then Nova.

When there are a group that like to stand at attention in close proximity, like Nemesis and some Council and or 5th Column, you can use Full Invisibility to stand in the middle of them with your damage toggles on and still remain undetected. This is because Invisibility from the Concealment pool gives you Affecting only Self status. This is superior to say, SS and Celerity+Stealth. Can you think of creative ways to use this to your advantage? I bet you can.

You can think of all kinds of crazy fun things to do with Concealment powers. They generally do not need more than just the base slot, and give you the ability to have some fun with new tactics on a build you werent having too much fun with before.

Give them a try.

Usually go SS+Stealth Proc. This gives you effective invisibility, and costs no slots or power picks if you plan on taking hasten. You have to take a travel power might as well take one that does double duty.

Stealth + SS on my AR/EM blaster allows me to position for maximum cone spread. Once I hit 50, and had the inf, I respec'd out of Stealth and dropped a Stealth IO into CJ. If you are using a PBAoE then i think it would be essential to have this level of stealth for getting into the middle of the mob. In fact I generally try to get some form of stealth on most of my "squishy" toons just so I can solo-stealth certain missions.

Well I just hit lvl 14 last night and so far I have Fitness (hurdel) and Speed (hasten, superspeed).

For those that did not take Concelment did you take the Medicine pool instead?

I'm leaning towards adding the concelment pool and slotting for superstealth. Is that a good idea? Overkill? And dosen't the stealth drop after you pound out an AoE anyway?

I would recommend aid self I have it on both my blasters and if you slot 2 reduce interrupt times in there and you can use it in the middle of battle. And ya once you attack all enemys become aware of you.

What did you mean by super stealth?

In PVE this is effectively useless. Anything that can see through SS and stealth IO (Rikti DRones and Snipers) can see thru just about anything, and they are so few and far between they are not worth the extra power picks. Stealth IO and SS are all that is needed for PVE.

And with Fire/MM with Drain Psyche I wouldn't waste a power pool on Medicine either. I think I said it earlier, Leaping, Speed, and fitness are the most efficient power pools are the best for the mixed PBAOE/Ranged AOE fighter that a Fire/MM should be.

Ahhh thank you. I think I'm leading towards what you those 3 power pools. I've already taken fitness and speed. I'm considering leaping or not taking anymore.
